I have one which i use to hang my blur from a vauxhall corsa at comedic angles. It can be a bit fiddly and you have to be aware of the position of the pedals but I not had any disasters so far

buckden woods is good if its either dry or full of snow, at the moment its a skating rink, which is why I didn’t suggest it + robin hoods as an uphill could piss folk off.

ask the receptionist at your hotel about the best independant trips to see the lights. I did this and while the coach from the main operators drove off after an hour seeing nothing , our guide said he’d stick around for a bit , half an hour later the skies went green and off we went , we stayed an extra [ very cold ] hour and saw loads, even stopped on the way back at 2am when there was another sighting. take a good down jacket

if you head right on moor lane there is a left turn up to the tower , as it doglegs around to the left you’ll go over a cattle grid, there is a singletrack to the left- nice rocky down hill if you like a bit of technical.
you can pass the tower to the right accross the moor to harkles hill/ pilgrims cross and bull , gives you a flowy downhill to top of robin hoods well but I think it would be very boggy at the mo. my mate and I ride the area most wednesdays if you fancy a guided tour.

if you head towards the tower on the road you will be on holcombe hill, when you see the shoulder of mutton pub on your right there is a bridleway on the left next to the indian restaurarant .the bridle way you meet is moor road.you can either head left-and take the next right loops around holcombe moor ,over crowthorn to entwistle and around turton.easier to navigate if you don’t know the area would be to turn right on moor road head up with the tower on your left, follow the bridleway all the way accross, about a mile till you get to the top of robin hood’s well [ good down hill ] go down it , turn left at the bottom then right , ride down to the road , dog leg accross and down into irwell vale , turn right and pick up the dead-line back into rammy .might be easier with os map or local guide.

will be fine, the only isue with cragg is that if it rains heavily there will be puddles in the dips so you end up hurtling down into cold water splashiness

It really depends what you want to do, mountain biking sis such a generic term , covering everything from cross country bimbling to down hill to enduros. The two main points to consider are the tyoe of riding you intend to do and as junkyard says your budget. You will need to allow for at the very least helmets gloves, suitable shoes and a waterproof .I think get an entry level hardtail and see where it takes you ,you may welol have a better idea of what you want to do after you have ridden for a bit .

I don’t think it’s as simple as thinking about your own sex drive, more the chemistry between two people. When I was married we would row and be quite nasty to each other but we always had banging sex, which probably kept us together after we had developed different interests .Now I’m with somebody who I get on with in every way and who is good to get on with…but the fizzy bomb fireworks aren’t the same ,things are less intense but there’s not the urgency or desire in the same way .
