Out of interest what sort of jobs do most of the forum do ,manual labour ,shift hours, social or not(mine are 12 hour shifts 9-9 day or nights on rotation ,social care work )
As this can also factor in mode of getting to work.

I’ve looked at E-bikes for a while now and toyed with the idea of converting an older bike from back of the shed.
Conversion kits are getting cheaper as time goes on,my only hurdle is supply as over in Eire there seems limited demand so less supply n postage from UK/Europe is an issue for the batteries.

Would cut journey times especially if i used for work after me 12 hour night shift as that ride home is a killer.Hence i tend to use the car.But e-bike would poss save expense of 2nd car so purchase would be justified(commute is 15 miles of good hills but could be spiced up with some cheeky woodland tracks on a bike)

Can you rotate your head fully to right or as much as you do to the left?

Could be neck muscle related as said above, do you use hot shower on neck shoulder after ride, might relax it .

    Agree with(Pah nettles.

Gorse bushes….bastid things tiny thorns take weeks to come out of skin, if at all.)

Plus one for blackerry brambles that rip open a shin .

Cure is as other say longs or plenty of Guinness after till you forget the stinging .

Aloe Vera gel helps too !

Had similar woes with my Tricross few years back, and price wise was cheaper to change rear cluster to wider n lower set and rear changer to longer reach, than change crankset/axle etc.

Still have old block n bits for spares etc

Halfords Carrera bikes are worth a look ,as long as local store has decent mechanics/bike hut staff that can set them up properly.

Got a Carrera fury myself ,good bike for the price,3 years old now and still holding out well.

    http://www.ragwortfacts.com/ragwort-poisoning-in-humans.html
Ragwort tastes so bad that animals are repelled by it. The amount of ragwort that would need to be consumed by a person to damage them would be enormous.

Been through the lot ,as many on here, started as scout myself, venture scout, asl venture scouts, scout leader, beavers.
Then moved to wales, scout leader again different groups as moved house.
Now in Ireland ,scout assistant with local sea scouts, great way of getting into a new community n getting to know people.

Religion is not an issue these days unless your group is church attached, but scouting should embrace all beliefs .

when we lived in mid -wales our vet sent our dogs up to Summerleaze Pet crematorium ,same sort of set up individual cremation then returned in a sealed wooden casket with small plaque bearing dogs name and a cert .
Because we knew we would be selling our house in near future we just stored them ,total of 4 over 10 years in our wardrobe .

All now in their final resting place in our field here in Ireland along with our 12 year old Bernese who passed away just recently .
The site will eventually be where my wife wants here octagonal summer house and he lies where the door will be “as he always did occupy a doorway where you were guaranteed to trip over him ”

Asked if they had intention of building one up for a viewing/test and told no ,unless we have a sale.

So i walked away ,will try other stores when i’m out n about .

Now living in Ireland where there don’t seem to many bridleways i regularly ride f/p as marked up local high points n hills n rarely get anything other than ” well done to you for riding up here” i could n’t do it .
Back in wales would get few dog walkers moaning but that was usually on shared cycleways n usually those who can’t seem to keep their dog under control.

End of day use discretion and be polite ,then they don’t know what to do .
