We’ve just re homed a 12 mnth old terrier/springer/looney cross from local puppy rescue where he spent some time in mixed kennels ,so the training ritual has to begin,at least he’s choosing the same spot to go,plenty of praise when he goes outside.
Our other 3 year old terrier looks on with disgust when we find the indoor offerings ,saying it’s not me .
Previous owners said he was too boisterous,he’s great at tiring out the terrier .

As said above the local woods have plenty of cheeky stuff ,which i found fine, but Easter may be a different story as more folk about.

We hired additional bikes from the hire shop too, using the downstairs wet room to clean our bikes before we departed may have given the cleaners a mean time though.

Local craft beers in the onsite pub too provided good refreshment.

Just as dry here in south east Ireland, neighbour had to have new well drilled for water ,previous one had lasted the 85 years of his life so far.
Took 2 lots of drilling to find a decent enough flow rate too.

Then thinking last decent rain we had was early part of the year.

Walking around a local charity shop recently i noticed they were over run with coffee machines of many varieties due to the madness of consumers wanting the posh pod things.
    All under 20 euro too.
So try a charity shop near you .

Seriously jealous of those pork pies of distinction, have limited choice of Tesco’s own ,only here as the Irish don’t seem to appreciate the finer taste of a good pie n branston or mustard.

But seriously, what flask for trail riding bimbledom?.. I want the uber riding flask

A good stainless steel one ,had mine for last 10 years, looks battered but does the job.

We moved to ROI in 2012 and i must say it was not totally my choice, family needs in respect of sick inlaws needing support from wife n family.
But on the positive we were able to sell up in mid wales and clear our mortgage and buy an ok house that needed/needs work for cash and ok it took a while ,now have good work and live in an area with less traffic ,lovely people ,excellent mountain biking. And GUINNESS .

Negatives are, higher car tax,but almost non existent council tax (1/10 of previous in uk ).Higher schooling costs but as my youngest is 17 now nearing the end.

I don’t regret it now ,especially seeing the mess the UK is in now.
Plus again that i now live in a far better area rural and owe no one any thing ,no credit cards, bank loans, mortgage etc.

You can get reconditioned racks or get yours reconditioned,so even with labour of take off n refit ,then your tyres n brakes ,you’d struggle to reach 1 k at most independent garages.

My sons golf had to have water pump and also timing belt ,thermostat and refill new coolant and only cost 250 euro .

Over here in Ireland here are lots of Dusters especially 131 plates as they were a cheap alternative new car [post euro crash].
Test drove a new one 2014 ,but we were refused finance as we have no credit rating as we have no mortgage, credit cards etc,but own our house outright.
so we got a s/h hyundai Santa Fe instead.4wd suv.
Suits as a tow car2.0crdi,easy swallow 2 bikes whole with rear seats down,40 mpg on average.

Aldi for us,as our other choices are Tesco or Supa-value here.

Veg is good, but we grow fair bit ourselves so only fruit ,bananas, exotics .
Craft beer promo at present so working through those.

Don’t know about availability in UK but i have a Hyundai santa fe 2.0 diesel 2004 which cost me 1500 euro,ok has no low box or diff lock but with good tyres is very capable off road up forestry tracks Not fire roads either)
Tows well ,easy pulls trailer of logs across fields etc.
Does on avg 40 mpg .
Large boot ,seats up,split 30/70 will swallow a 29 er.

So try hyundai Tuscon or santa fe

Most of the road clubs over here seem to be OTT with speed ,stating minimum speeds for groups.
i went out on one run and was advised on losing weight off the bike (my cx bike),hinting that i was slow, that was the last run i bothered with.

Go out on my own now on road runs when the fancy takes, but mainly use the mountain bike.
Doing local off road event end of month so uping off road rides when i can ,concentrating on climbs as the event has a good climb to start with https://www.facebook.com/events/304993653197741/

Thoughts with you n your family ,stay strong together.

Was talking to an chap that attends the day centre where some of my clients go yesterday afternoon,he was saying how the winter evenings are lonely now as dark earlier,n that they were lonely,he lives on his own 72/73 has to use a walking frame and only has a sister local left family wise(both parents, RIP)He doesn’t go out as gave up the drink as he calls it when advised by doctor that he would be in the grave by the time he was 50.
But he has a smile and always speaks and has a good word to say,for all but the local priest who won’t even call even thou his parents were god fearing regulars at the church.
So much for the church looking out to him as they told his parents would be,n we never see hide nor hair of them with our clients thou their mother was always giving all to the church ..

Many won’t look at domestic fridges these days, unless you know someone in commercial side of refrigeration.
Used to have contacts back when i was in butchery trade.

New ones are cheap enough to be honest.

Way back in 1986 an early ridgeback bought from our local shop DJCYCLES (Derick helis) good recommendation it was too.
Lasted me 4 years till i sold it when cash was tight(young family)
Year later picked up a 2nd hand ridge back again via relative, that moved to WALES with us -mountains n moors of ceridigion became my back yard. Also used it for a 17 mile each way commute in n out of Aberystwyth.
Sold that after 5 years as moved onto first full suss a Saracen (bright orange),but truefully found that heavy.
Then picked up a Marin bolias ridge with modified forks ,that was fantastic, kept me going till 2012 ,when i moved to ireland n left it at previous work to use between shifts (as working back in wales for a while).
Now have Carrera Fury not fantastic but good enough.
    So 30 years of fun

The latest thing is wanting 3 verified refs from previous employers, fine ,but the managers you worked under have left the company all they get is a standard HR ref of no real value as it’s written by some lowlife in HR who doesn’t know you from Adam.

Is that really of any value ?

[quote19 miles each way. You’ll only be cycling for 30-40 minutes each way[/quote]

That’s assuming the route is flat ,my route is hilly both ways so takes longer than that .
