I build a fair amount, a really good book i found is the art of wheel building by Gerd Schraner.

As for stand im really not sure mine is old, if you have a frame spare or forks you could use those to get you going.

I have the above book in pdf if you would like an evalutaion copy.

i started back up in BMX last October at the great age of 31 (packed in riding when I was 19) never looked back, I ride with guys of my age so no problems with look like a sex pest, we tent to ride trails and i’m luck that I have two fantastic private wood stops within 10 mins of my house. I purchased a complete FIT Brian foster signature (last years model as it was £475 instead of £720), i love every time I ride and we are all off down south for a week in August to ride BMX every day :-).

my little girl chilling on mine 🙂

this is the last one in our 12 pack

this is the email I had i paid the £69.30 was close with my £67 guess.

    Dear ,

Re: End of Hire Agreement options – email dated 21/04/2012

Our records show that you have still not yet actioned any of your 3 options available to you now that your Agreement has come to an end.

As part of the completion of your hire period for the cycle to work scheme provided by your employer, your options are:

    You now have 3 options:

Under a separate agreement with Cyclescheme, you pay a small, one-off refundable deposit (3% or 7% including VAT of the equipment value*) and continue to use the bicycle for up to 3 years. The monthly payments are zero. At the end of this period, Cyclescheme refund the deposit if you do not wish to keep the equipment.? This option will cost you £69.30.

Take ownership of the equipment by paying Cyclescheme a much higher valuation (e.g., for a one year old bicycle this would be 18% or 25%* of the certificate value in accordance with HMRC requirements).? This option will cost you £247.50.

Return the bicycle to Cyclescheme, at your own cost.

As our payment terms are strictly 28 days, you need to complete one of the options listed by 19/05/2012.

For further details of each option and to complete the end of hire process, please click on the following link:

    Kind regards,

    The Team at Cyclescheme

after the first year on mine (april 2012) i had an email from the cycle to work people, i have paid £67 to continue the use of the bike then after 3 years (in total) the bike is mine no further payments are required, I would call them, im sure the wording about non payment was very strong, be honest its the best policy.

i scrapped my lenses from specsavers and I now use daysoft lenses, http://www.daysoft.com, find these last longer (in the day) and do not dry out as much, I race motocross so the lenses get a good test with me. oh daysoft are also a lot cheaper than specsavers.

i think i drive smooth to be honest, reset the trip last night on a motorway run, stuck at 70 and got 35.8mpg over about 10 mile, to be fair I have had this car from new and its never been any better. I would say 95% of our driving is stop start, small runs of about 3 – 5 mile max with the odd longer trip on a weekend.

I can get my car done for £250 as a friend runs a tuning company, this is a remap and not a plug in device or a cheap ebay air temp bodge.

I’m going to fully service the car in the next two weeks, I will be replacing the oil with 0w – 30 Fully Synthetic, using genuine filters, even though the 37500 service does not require an air filter I will also be replacing that, the car I feel is well looked after and driven carefully.

the damper leg, is the oil in the top or bottom of the fork? from memory lower has about 15ml of oil (injected via the lower bolt hole) and the damper has about 120ml of oil.

you will not get 100% sanction travel, this is normal.
