Funny you should say that, it was all degreased a few days ago
I had the cassette in pieces to swap cogs & fit spacers to sort out the chain rub with the Nate.

I use Purple Extreme…excellent chain lube IMO, but pricy, but worth it for the conditions I take the bike in :-)

This was the return section of today’s route…looks like a nice landy track on the map, Hmmmm?

Cozz, where did you get those rims from?

    motorman

IMO the 120tpi tyres are worth the extra money because the ride is better with the more supple tyre. Both my nate’s & BFL are 120’s.

I’m also looking at a set of husker Du’s for next year, looks like they could make a good summer trail tyre?

I have a BFL front & Nate rear, but going nate/nate by end of the week

I really rate the BFL, but for this time of year, it does not have enough side grip in corners or when trying to crawl out of landrover tracks etc.

Different tyres for different jobs, BFL & larry are my choice for beach riding, but don’t really work as an all round tyre in the UK IMO.

I will be riding Nate/Nate through the winter for mix trail riding on 80mm rims & I will be building a 2nd set of wheels with 100mm rims to fit the larry/BFl onto for beach riding.

Ta, thanks for clearing that up

Here is a top tip…just carry an old 135mm rear wheel of any description for transporting

I just use a piece of velcro strip to hold down the back

I like your style Keef! Nice touch on the rear stays!

I’m also building another, after selling off most of my “normal” bikes. 1 set up for beach/coast riding & 1 for XC trail riding.

Anyway, back on topic, nice build Cozz, how you finding it compared to the Pug?

    Ok, from today’s ride….

Yes, that is the trail! 8O

Plenty of need for a fatbike where I ride, thank you…

Because it’s a pointless, clumsy and inefficient solution to a problem that doesn’t really exist.

So yes, it does make sense to have a fatbike in the UK .
All of the above is less than 5 min from my door….so the problem does exists for those of us who ride where trail monkeys don’t

Looking good Coss, right bike, right colour 8)

Only problem, it is too shiny! Get it in the goor, richt up to the axles!

Enjoy, I think these are excellent bikes, the 907 has a quality riding position IMO

Yes, endos & larry are useless in mud…excellent in sand & snow.

so realistically, UK fatbike will need a nate on rear for mud riding duties…end of. They are that good

No different to any other bike, you got to set it up for the conditions you are riding…

Oh, Charlie TBM….if I order a moonlander will it arrive in the first batch end of Dec, or are these all sold? ISON now show March for Moonlander stock?

Such a shame these are getting tagged with quality / delivery issues.
I have the Mk1 & it was perfect & been a great bike since it was built.
Did they change the frame shop or something on the Mk2 to cause all the problems?

Ok, keep us posted on how the project progresses.

Good UK stock of BB, rims, tyres, Hubs would be nice! Oh…and try to get some Husker Du’s too….lol

Shaggy, I just been testing them over last few nights….

    BFL & Nate Uk Testing

Oh, while I remember, lets give that on one bike a good BB height…When my 907 sinks i’m almost walking it through the goor with the pedals  8O

To all those who ask what is the point…..well if your ride includes conditions like these, then you suddenly realise that fatbikes do have a place in the line up. None of my other bikes would have got me home this route without pushing… 8)

A couple of months, but done a lot of riding in that time, they seem to be holding up well on the sole & I run extra long pins on my flats. Have to see what shape they are in the spring though

I have just got magicshine MJ 872 1600 lumen for £90

Great wide flood of light with no real hotspots. This paired to my other 1000 lumen light which has a good long distance beam, I think I have found a good combo for this years riding. So good I no longer ride with a headtorch these days…

What a great ride…nice swoopy Scots Pine singletrack on way out, coffee on a deserted beach watching the sun go down, then night riding, dune rolling all the way home to chocolate pudding & double cream :D Only thing missing was my dog, but he was still tired from an earlier walk today

I have just got my 1600 claimed lumen MJ 872’s today, going for a trial tonight, but so far, they look like a great wee light, very floody rather than spotty.. :-)

I’m lucky enough to be able to combine both, bikes & beach sunsets most evenings :-) great isn’t it……I’m just getting ready to watch the sunset tonight & try out my new 1600 lumen lights on the way home 8)

MTFU & stick a normal black zip tie on you fork & get out there & ride the bike.
If you were a rider, this problem would be irrelevant, as the bike should be covered in sh1te most of the time anyway…. :-)

Used winter tyres for years, very worthwhile in cold & wet, not just snow.
I run Toyo Snowprox on the car & Imported M/S tyres from the states on my truck.
Easier if you can fit them to a set of cheap wheels that you can swap over
