Find somewhere less shit to go bikepacking, or use a shit bike nobody will steal.

Alpkit stem cells or feed bags would be better in that situation for grabbing things on the go.

Going to be grim if you are using a bivi rather than tent in that weather today

This trip will be mainly road, but I will be investigating some other routes for a (Potential) fatbiking trip. I generally hear that most offroad routes can be difficult to unpassable on a bike though.

Bag – Yes was planning a a light synthetic bag case it turns really wet. Merino base & down jacket for insulation when needed.

Hat – Waterpoof craghoppers hat & taking waterproof glove in addition to the lighter cycling ones.

Will be riding flat pedals with boots (My normal setup)

Camping throughout. Just found a good deal on merino shorts & tee’s so the clothing is nearly sorted. May still go with small panniers so that I have free space for food etc.

That fork will work fine with 29er+ rims such as RH or snowcat if building offset.

    Nice bike!

I can get my Rab ascent 700, down jacket, base layer top & trousers, hat, socks & hygine stuff into alpkit 20ltr with room to spare.

In summer I can get a lighter 500 bag to work fine in the 13 ltr.

All valid points, but this situation has been going on for months & means that folk will just go elsewhere. They should have the experience to know the demand & stock requirements on the run up to spring & summer.

Here are some pics from the weekend to give you a flavour of the lower stuff

The trails around Loch Gamhna were excellent on the fatbike, as was the route down into Glen Feshie, esp beyond the Bothy.

Cracking weather on Sunday wasn’t it 8)

    South end past Ruigh Aiteachain.
I was thinking that FB might be the better option, with the melt going on at the moment. Are there any steams to cross on the East side now with the new road?

They do require more energy to move esp uphill, but I can live with that given how nice they ride everywhere else.

I did wheel building this week also :-), but with 4/8mm offset rims

Front built symmetrical, rear with 17.5mm offset
Tricky build (For me anyway) but I am happy with the results
