The Tourneo seats can be lifted completely out but sadly they cant be fitted the other way round with the standard floor mounts, but think these could be modified to make them work. As I will be regularly taking the seats in and out, I opted for two single seats rather than a double because they are pretty heavy lumps for one person to handle.

I forgot to mention earlier, inspiration can be found here[/url] for Tourneo build options as they are very adaptable.

I am just finishing off my own van (MWB Movano) which is similar to what you describe, but mine is more of a dayvan / camper and the bike go on a rear rack. I have just fitted a pair of Tourneo Custom seat to mine and can highly recommend them. Back rests fold down, partially recline, the seats fold forward of can be removed completely.

I went from Aberdeen – Bergen – Bodo with my bike a few years back with Wideroe, no problems at all. Air out the tyres, pedals off, turn the bars and shove in a CTC bike bag.

I’m curious, what sort of price range would I be looking at to buy a reasonable van and finish it to a decent spec like those up^^^^?
Can the issue of parking overnight with the bikes on the outside not be mitigated by a heavy duty lock?

These are my local trails and I can confirm that a fatbike is the correct choice for riding between Lossie and Fochabers. Take a slower pace of life and be rewarded by infinite route choices. I am currently rattling around in there on 29+ but even that is no match for the plushness and float of full fat when tackling the rooty/sandy/shingle sections.

When I joined the company I had the option to be an employee or contractor for the same job role. The reason I didn’t go the contractor route myself was the terms and conditions met every requirement of IR35.

The contractors work exclusively for the company and are prevented from proving the same service to anyone else. The company dictates how and when the work will be carried out, not the contractor.

Whatever happens it appears to be time too move on. I have applied for several jobs, In the process of starting my own company for consultancy work and shall be speaking to an employment law solicitor in the morning, so I have a number of options covered.

I may as well chime in here. I have just finished building a 9:zero:7 slider fatbike frame into a 29er+ which cost around £650 in total.

    Those are 44mm snowcat rims.
16 stone and 2 years later would suggest that they work

If you are not planning to ride over an environment where the fat tyres have a benefit, they are overkill most of the time.

The difference between bud and lou for traction is negligible. The bud however rolls much better than lou.

Aye, brand new bottle, turned upside down and shook for ages, but there was still a few clots at the bottom, rubber hairballs.

I have been looking at the wild country Zephyros 2, but the favourite at the moment is the Hex Peak V4.

This is mainly going to be for solo trips. MSR’s look good, but not keen on inner pitch tents for Scottish winter camping.

1/2 frame bag & keep the cages imo.
I have some cages with the clamps that attach to the bars if required as another option.

Hmmm. Turns out that I broke my shoulder joint in half, ripped off my rotor cuff bone which means at least 3 months until I can drive or get on the bike. With 9 screws now holding me together it seems this is going to take a long time to sort out :x

Last outing was fantastic and what the summer holidays are all about

That is strange. I run a 2.1 Explorer on the back, and a 2.3 Vertical on my rigid ss and they work great. I find them a little drifty, but they are quite a hard tyre. Depend on what you are riding on I guess.

I run 700×47 smart sams on mine and it rides really well offroad. You just need to remember the low BB height, but for fire roads and gravel they work well.

700c truckers are ace. As stated already, not the most sporty bike unloaded, but that’s not the point is it

    Go for it.

Long story, but took mine down the DH track at fort bill one snowy winter evening last year. Excessive braking (For a fatbike) resulted in the rear wheel trying to leave the party.

So to answer your question, yes there will be times you wished you had a 10mm axle.

As I have no expectations, I find my freakshow LHT to be just the ticket for either loaded touring, or long unloaded day trips. Bike weight comes secondary for me & the comfort factor wins every time.

Another thing to consider is that some frames will fit a 29er+ wheelset with ease, unlike the singular or the one one fatty which only work with 26×4 or smaller.

907, Salsa running alternators drop outs & Surly all work well with dual wheelsets.

Just sayin, so I think it is an important consideration when buying a bike.
