    There are a couple of others from dates/random comments that I reckon I probably knew at Southampton uni a long long time ago.

    How long long time ago?

    Makes me feel old just thinking about that.

    Performance on other segments (Zwift and real world) indicates you should be a bit quicker than me on that climb.

    I’m probably not back Zwift until next week now – actually planning real world rides at the weekend if it’s not to icy!

    Some of those RW PBs might well be from a couple of years back!

    I am pecilling in a 100km outside ride for next weekend, weather and life permitting.

    I suppose my question is, how the hell do I navigate without getting intimately familiar with the course and storing it to memory banks..? If ever single driving game on a computer has a little route map in the corner of the screen, why can’t Zwift?

    Have a look at this[/url]

    I seem to be way off the pace on Box Hill, kinda mirrors IRL for me. Is it still London course tomorrow? If it is i might see if I can bring my time down a bit.

    I’ve had good results with @twickets on twitter, the condition being you can’t sell over face value so no touts.

    From the preliminary results looks like ZP is only giving results for those who did 2 complete laps. IIRC same thing happened on last KISS TT I did.

    Hi Weeksy

    That was me you were following, think we had matching tops too. Enjoyed that put in an extra effort at the end and reeled in D Chester. Wonder if my ride will make it to ZP will be first time this year if it does.

    I signed up to the EVR but my crappy internet connection wouldn’t allow me to get to start. Ended up doing 2 laps on my own with other riders sporadically appearing.

    Also tempted with the EVR race tonight. Presume the race info on ZP is incorrect and should read: C group 3.1 W/Kg or lower?

    @weeksy & mossimus – Sorry if you are using ZP for that data it isn’t reliable.

    Strava giving me a weighted ave of 269w as I am just under 90Kg so ZP or not I am taking the 2.9w/Kg :)

    If that was the iTT, then yup, i’m one of the people who didn’t get a result for that …. Which was REALLY irritating as i thought i had by a fair way my best race/performance on Zwift. I saw where the guy i was racing with finished and he got a 3rd in C…. but i rekon 50% of the field were non finishers having only done 10.6km ! So i have no idea what my actual result would have been but i did finish the race with 2.9w/kg which is epic for me.

    Yes that was the one. Same scenario as you for me; that was my best performance to date, also 2.9w/Kg so we must have finished close to each other.

    TOnights is one of the bigger organisers KISS, they should be fine, hence me entering it.

    I have always got results from KISS races but had an issue last week with Wednesday’s TT. distance was 10 miles so 16km ish, for some reason Zwiftpower was looking for a distance of 18km.

    Anyone else see that last week?

    Anyway hopefully I’ll be on Zwift as well within the next few days as I’m waiting for a turbo to arrive. Just a dumb one though as didn’t think I’d need a smart one given I’ve a power meter on the bike. Should I just ride around for the first few rides or dive straight into an FTP test?

    Any chance you could cancel the dumb trainer, I have a fairly decent one sitting around that I about to bin. You are more than welcome to it.

    Hard’ is relative.

    ‘Hard’ for me in 2014 was 6min/mile.
    ‘Hard’ for me now with an extra 2 stone and an injury is 10min/mile.

    As long as you train to either heart rate or perceived effort, rather than pace as a beginner, you’ll be fine.

    The poster was suggesting 1 long, 1 tempo and 1 interval session. Surely in this context they are all hard sessions?

    I am a big fan of the runners world three runs a week plan, it is essentially 1 long, 1 tempo and 1 interval. With the long run at marathon pace(ish) the tempo run quicker (i.e. u pto 1 hour falt out) and the intervals being based on hills or sprint reps.

    3 hard runs per week, isn’t that a recipe for disaster, particularly for someone wihtout an established base?

    YMMV but that would have me injured by week 3.

    It’s not immediately obvious but you have to do this from within the game rather than at zwift.com where you intially setup your profile.

    No, I race as “Mr 622”

    Conincedentally there was someone with the surname Brennan around the times you mentioned above, currently showing as 19th in group 1.

    I haven’t done any Zwift races up to now, and was sitting at 47:30 at that point. Is that any good? Is it good enough to sit in the STW group? I don’t want to embarrass myself, I’m not that quick these days. I was in Group 1, couldn’t sit in the draft nicely on the 2240, and kept seeing riders stream past.

    Quick bit of ZP stalking… Does your name start with an ‘I’? If so that would put you in group ‘C’ in the normal KISS races.

    In the overall board my time was 55:23, on my group board it’s 41:23

    I guess because it was a handicap the overall time is from when the group 1 set off?

    First ride after 3 weeks of manflu for me. Great format last night. Judging by the amount of G1 riders in top 10 w/kg may have been a better measure than the segment time, guessing lots have not raced that segment before.

    thinking about having a crack at one of the races tonight. is the KISS europe race a stupid place to start?

    Perfect place to start, I have done 4 or 5 of these. Tonight’s races have different starts for each cat. Make sure you enter the correct Cat as if you exceed the cat limits you will be DQed

    Be prepared to put a serious effort in from the off, the pace will settle down a bit after a couple of minutes.

    Will take the speed from the trainer or the sensor on the wheel ?

    You would pair the trainer with Zwift as a smart trainer so it would use this as the power source. You could additionally pair s/c sensor as just a cadence sensor so Zwifty knows your cadence too.

    My laptop doesn’t match the min requirement for graphics (mine has got Integrated HD3000 and the min spec is Integrated HD 4000) but it runs fine.
    I did wonder if it might keel over when more riders were on the screen, but I was on it last night and there were loads of riders around at one point & it coped fine.

    My laptop also below min spec but works fine. In the resolution section I only get the option of the two lowest settings which look fine to me.

    Epicsteve. I rarely post on here but pretty sure we have just started following each other on Strava and live within spitting distance. Not currently got an mtb but would be up for a road ride at some point.

    If using a recent version of Excel you can simplify Edlongs formula with =IFERROR(VLOOKUP(B1,Sheet2!B:B,1,0),”This is the bugger”)

    I like the Greenwich one (Gate Clock) and the Canary Wharf one, (Ledger Building),

    Aren’t they both Lloyd’s No 1 bars rather than proper ‘spoons?

    £243 a month is the max you can claim.

    Depends on the tax rate you pay, about £112 max if you pay 40% tax, zero if earning >£150K

    Some voucher providers have expiry dates, others don’t.

    That said aren’t the government about to launch a new scheme?

    Credit cards and debit cards will be accepted as normal

    Was in Crete last week, many places not keen on taking cards. When we checked out of hotel we had a small bill to settle. Strangely they were unable to process any of the 3 cards we tried to use.

    nslookup <enter>
    domain you want to lookup e,g
    www. google. co.uk <enter>(minus the spaces)

    You are looking at the address returned. What is the website you cannot access?

    Something along these lines. (Mapped to drive X)

    Dim objNetwork, strLocalDrive, strRemoteShare, strConstantPath, strFolder
    Set objNetwork = WScript.CreateObject(“WScript.Network”)
    strLocalDrive = “X”
    strConstantPath = “\\myserver\”
    strFolder = InputBox(“Enter folder name”)
    strRemoteShare = strConstantPath & strFolder
    objNetwork.MapNetworkDrive strLocalDrive, strRemoteShare

    The MapNetworkDrive method will also accept credentials if need be.

    Why not make the other shares hidden if you do not want users to see them or control visibility with permissions?

    In answer to your Q, something along the lines of.

    MyVariable = InputBox(“Enter folder name”)

    make sure your LAN cable is connected to its router port and not just one of the switch ports.

    What do you mean by this? Not sure if a BT home hub differentiates but regardless of that a Wifi extender just needs to be plugged into a normal switch port.

    A partnership might not make sense financially – but opening up the 810/1000 and allowing other smartphone apps to display messages, etc on the screen would make them much more appealing and generate more sales for Garmin surely? I know I personally would go out and buy one tomorrow if it integrated properly with Strava in realtime!

    The FR920XT announced today supports Connect IQ so apps will be able to integrate with it.

    A Garmin 310XT should be down to a reasonable price now, this has facility for running and cycling modes.

    Limit is £243 per month on the Childcare voucher

    This is dependant upon your tax bracket. But as above yes you can do both.
