Also doing Birmingham marathon, started an 18 week plan this week although might have to miss a few workouts as I seem to still have a knee injury from Liverpool marathon. Target 3:30.

Firstly IANAL but found myself in a similar situation about 20 yeaars ago. I also replied not guilty and got given a court date but only for failing to name the driver (me) and not for the traffic offence.

I went to court and explained that I lived in a block of 16 flats and post was delivered to a communal area and that I had mail go missing several times. the prosecutor?? spent 10 minutes insinuating I was lying and then the magistrates found me not guilty.

I was never summoned for the traffic offence.

Just go to court and tell the truth. Good luck.

I wonder if it’s because my activity was a walk rather than a bike ride (I only recorded it because I wanted to know the distance as a potential lunchtime run)? I’ve Boris biked along there previously and don’t recall noticing Zwifters on the flyby’s.
Must be, but that’s very peculiar, I wonder if it’s something to do with the fact you can run on Zwift, but there’s no “virtual run” option. It appears I work exactly opposite you on the South Bank, and some colleagues did that run on Wednesday here, and again there are Zwift people on there.

I guess that it can differentiate between riding and virtual riding, but because Zwift runners may also appear as virtual rides (for now) they get included in the running/walking ‘real life’ comparisons.

    Or something. Weird.

Looking at a couple of my London Zwift rides and there are definitely a few IRL rides on the flyby. They seem to be mostly towards the bottom of the list as I guess they have poor correlation to the Zwift rides. If you check the ‘Virtual Rides Only’ box you see the IRL rides disappear.

Do points not depend on size of field? I did a flat 1 lap race this week and not only got upgraded from C but miraculously won B, for this I only got 6 points.

Btw, why is it that on Zwiftpower I only get a 20 min power and not the 5, 1, and 15s? (e.g. 3rd line on this one here) Is it something in Strava that’s not set up properly?

From that screenshot it looks like the strava account is not registered against ZP looking at the others in tha race with missing data that seems to be constant.

You get it until someone beats your time surely?

No, you only get the jersey for an hour max, presume your time is then erased from leaderboard? here

    mossimus

IIRC you get to wear the Jersey for an hour.

First Zwift race in over a month yesterday, 7 laps of the Volcano, lack of cycling showed and I got dropped on the 4th lap, did the last 3 at a sedate pace and think I came last in C.

..ours was 4 and dumping her in ski school didn’t sit well with me. I used to teach kids to ski and inevitably one needs a wee..

It was our 3 year olds first time in ski school this year. We had similar worries, but there were only 6 kids in her group, with two teachers, and they spent the week doing laps of the magic carpet which handily had loos nearby.
Ditto when my eldest was 3, we went away the day after her 3rd birthday an nearly didn’t put her in ski school. Glad we did though as she had the best time, morning spent in ski school doing laps on magic carpet with loos on nursery slopes. We would pick her up mid afternoon and alternate between sledging and skiing.

Not too keen on the private nanny or the parents/in-laws as I like the idea of the children making new friends for the week and skiing and playing with them throughout the week.

I think Esprit are owned by Inghams/Total ski.

Have had a couple of negative reports re: Club Med but will definitely look into Ski Famille, Mark Warner and Neilson.

Just back from Courchevel which I believe closes today. Stayed in 1850 up towards the Altiport just about managed to ski in/out everyday. Runs down to la Tania/Praz/Meribel all closed by end of week, Mottaret just about doable although a PITA heading back from VT in the afternoon. Predictably VT was heaving, particularlly on Good Friday. We spent most of our time staying in the Courchevel valley, pretty good skiing higher up on very empty pistes.

So time to start looking for next year. Last 2 trips have been with Esprit who are absolutely fantastic for the kids but not exactly cheap especially in school holidays. So any other companies that offer similar to Esprit but are slightly cheaper? Kids are 2 and 6. Moon on a stick?

Holy shit! Homework is given to primary school kids? I’ve got a lot to learn for when my son starts.

My daughter is in reception and gets two lots of homework a week.

Get yourself a right angle usb lead. This allows charger to work fine with the Edge 1000 and out front mount.

Did the KISS TT tonight, managed to knock a chunk off my Richmond pb and upped my ftp by 12. Pretty pleased with that especially as I did a 10 mile run to work this morning. No idea how I did overall as Zwift power appears not to be working, again.

Based in Walthamstow Wildcard brewery do some nice ales and have a tap room.

Even closer to home these people make cider from local apples. If you happen to have apple trees in your garden they will swap them for some cider!

Not sure what is going on with KISS at the moment, have done about 5 of their races this year and don’t think they have ‘finalised’ any of the results.

For redundancy can you not setup a mailforward wiht your ISP and use them as your secondary MX record, that way you will have redundancy on both the line and server.

Say a VC bought a stake in Zwift.

Thought they already had, didn’t they put in another £20 million at the end of last year?

£3K on a Yeti 575 in 2006, bought on cycle to work scheme, the early days when you could knock the VAT off as well so think I paid about £1300 in real terms for it.

£4K Canyon Aeroad last year, again on cycle to work scheme so not sure of exact cost but nowhere near £4K

Most expensive in actual spend a little over £2K in 98 for a Yeti HT

My KICKR is still putting out stupid power readings since the FW update. Due to time difference and me being at work Wahoo email support has been pretty poor and they are still at the turn it on/off unpair/re-pair stage.

Think a phonecall to support is in order tonight then KISS 8pm tonight or tomorrow depending upon success of fixing trainer issues.

Box hill for me. 9:10 IRL V 9:12 on Zwift, I was nearly 2 stone lighter for the RL effort though..

Did a warm up before the KISS race, went to perform a spindown as usual and the Wahoo utility insisted I did a FW update. All updated ok, did advanced spindown then a normal one.

At the off I found myself screaming through the pack and straight off the front, was very surprised to see >1Kw eased off and kickr still showing 400W, bugger. Abandoned the race and tried a reboot/spindown, still power way up on what it should be. A quick google shows I ma not the only person having this issue with update. Awaiting Wahoo support.

Anyone with a KICKR please be aware.

Its only downfall is when a road is closed, or its snowy armageddon, as no one is moving it sometimes shows the road with no traffic information, not even green.

Get this happening all the time in London when the Blackwall is closed. For some reason it will also fail to pickup that the surrounding areas are gridlocked.

@weeksy have you done the White roads before? Having ridden the MTB a lot in that area I gave it a go last year. Took 3 or 4 punctures before i realised how much care you have to take descending on 23c tyres when you weigh > 14st. Good fun though.

I think the time starts from the gate and the whole ‘warm up’ is just because you are not yet on the London Classique lap.

The Olympic Park is worth a visit, just have a wander through it, see the velodrome (fast and steep) and generally soak in the atmosphere,

Whilst this is a splendid idea it is worth checkng that West Ham are not playing at ‘home’ otherwise there may be a little more atmosphere than you may find comfortable.

Also did KISS last night, typical, worst race for a couple of months and for once the result actually showed on ZP, first time this year. Spent a couple of hours in the pub prior to the race so probably not ideal prep.

    Update took 9sec.

Looks like the update hung for me. Restarted and now showing 6 minutes to download on a 100Mb connection. On a very good day I get 3Mb at home….

Just managed a 9:12 PB on Box hill, think if I want to break 9 minutes I will need to lose a bit of weight.
