Don’t worry the only bits they close are the wide bridleways that horses go on, you would not want to ride these anyway, all the singletrack is open albeit muddy.

The Loughton side is not used as much as other part of the forest and tends to hold up under winter conditions a little better.

You mention your 62K salary but do not specify rent/buy/size of family equity in current house etc.

Some nice places being mentioned; Barnes, Wimbledon, Richmond etc but not necessarilly affordable on 62K.

I got these on day 3 of very chemo cycle, turned out they were not chemo it self but the anti-nausea drugs. By the last cycle they told me not to bother taking these.

All chemo drugs are different but something worth baring in mind?

If you go north on Freidrechstrauss (sp?) over the river, there are a couple of nice places to eat on the North bank, you will see them as you cross the bridge.

Also a fun bar that works on a supply/demand price system for the beers – Complete with stock exchange type monitors of the prices.

Another 200m further north and you get to Oranienburgerstrauss(sp?) lost of bars along here – beware this is also the red light district.

That’s alot of money to not be in a ski resort, and not have a lift pass included!

Depends really, for me the amount of skiing I can get in for one day off work makes it pretty amazing value.

Only way I think you could do similar for less is if you can get 4 of you in a car but then somebody has to drive overnight.

Used them a few times, great value for money. Things to be aware of;

They advertise 3 days skiing – if all goes totally plan you will arrive in Brides Les Bains in time for first lift. BUT
I think I ahve only made first lift once out of about 8 trips with them, slightest traffic etc and you may well lose half a day.

Do you realise BLB is a 30 minute Gondola ride from Meribel, so even catching first lift in BLB it will be 10am before you get to ski – likewise you will need to get the lift back down to BLB so need to be back at the chaudanne by 4:45ish

Just things to be aware of, still great value for money IMO

Used Vert Pros last year, lost count of number of punctures I had. Went tubeless as soon as I got back to UK.

If we are moaning about drivers in London. Part of commute takes me on one of Boris’s Cycle Superhighway, on the section heading west between Bow flyover and Mile End/Burdett Rd junction motorists on the whole seem to toally ignore the Blue line and continually block it, annoys the hell out of me.

OP conversely why do motorists think it is acceptable to wait in the cyclists box for the lights to change?
