Get them from Craster in Northumberland. Google it. Mail order, if you want, or Waitrose sometimes sell ’em.

TA5 1LJ will get you to Nether Stowey; you’ll need a map from there.

Poo. Can’t make it, as Mrs M wants to go walkies – on the Quantocks!
So I will wave if I see you.

Was down there yesterday with some mates, cycling for the first time. It’s a lovely mix of different types of trail.

But she’s right, isn’t she? (C_G usually is)
You need to talk, or sort yourself out – otherwise you wouldn’t have made the post.

I could have a 50cm frame complete bike available if you want?

I don’t remember the Cuban Missile Crisis, but i do remember Kennedy being shot.

Anyway – in answer to your questions:
Don’t get a complex, just keep on enjoying yourself. Best not to give up & get fat. I feel worse now than I did when I was 8kg lighter.

And yes, you’ve got years left in you.
Mrs M has been chatted up by 70+ year olds, and there was a thread on here the other night about a couple of 90+ and 100ish having sex, so there’s loads of time yet. 40 years-worth, in fact.

If you try a bike in the shop, and it fits, then they may be able to get the same size frame for you to have built up. Be aware they will probably find that lots of your existing parts won’t fit, so it’ll be an expensive job.

Keep an eye on the classifieds, or if you’re small prehaps adding an expensive seat-post (Titianium?)or suspension seatpost to your existing bike might be a cheap answer.

You only just float under normal circumstances, and will sink if you exhale completely.

SO reckon on a density of 1g/ml; your volume in L is the same as your weight in Kg.

So £6.5k for a bloody solid Iveco W-reg hi-top conversion with less than 50k on the clock is a bargain! Any takers?

I’ve got to disagree with that, Molgrips.
(Especially since I want to sell my van to fund an upgrade :) )

You can’t either park a caravan or pitch a tent in most of the places we’ve used our van, and towing a caravan is a pain. We tend to park in Forestry / National T|rust carparks or just off side roads – not in paid-for campsites.
A short camper van is ideal, warm, dry, manouverable, self-contained. And at 6.5 k for a vehicle with less than 50k miles, its cheap.

Oh come on! We’ve all worn lycra at some time or other – cyclists are the one section of society that can’t sneer at tights for men. We know they’re comfy.

And when I was younger, slimmer & OK looking, I got very positive reactions from women when wearing Ron Hills with a rugby shirt.

Been there, done that. I think I’ve got a couple of months left.
    :(

My advice is to get with some good agents, and also keep an eye on the websites of compnaies you could work for – ex-competitors, parallels, partners, etc.
And get a good LinkedIn profile and make as many contacts as you can.

    Good luck

    The Van
So if this doesn’t work, email me.

Looking for £6.5 – very good value, I think. Fully serviced, very warm.
One caveat: I don’t recommend it if you’re over 5’10”.

Buy mine! W reg Iveco conversion (Iveco are the best-selling vans in Europe), sleeps 2, 46,000miles, cooker, standing room, bog, fridge, loads of space.

    Price negotiable.

(Selling to get a bigger & better one)

TJ – studying the map first & being aware of surroundings is all very well, but if you’re on a flat bog where the path disperses, in a misty drizzle; compass-work is unavoidable. Dropping down into the wrong valley from a watershed ridge is only too easy if they’re only 20degrees separate.

    IMHO.

TJ- I’m surprised you don’t need a compass for hiking. I’ve been lost a couple of times on peat mosses in Wales or the Pennines and needed a compass to re-orientate & find my way back to a path. I guess it depends upon the visibility of th tracks you’re following, but I think maps & compasses are a necessity
