Ooh, we have a haiku above.
A coarse English rhymer would write:

    Palest brown and rosy pink,
    Shame about the fishy stink.

(Not that most do, of course. Not that I'd know, either, being married 'n'all)

Do the minimum to make it habitable then start renting it.
3 storey house implies 4-5 inhabitable rooms, £60/week each, say £1000/ month. Enough to spend £2k / year on maintenance and still provide some good income for the rest of your natural.

Our long-dead cat is in a shot of the Young Ones, which was filmed about 5 houses away from us. The cat was alive at the time, obviously.

Private schools have cadet forces, most state schools don't. The cadet forces are the main intake for Westbury & Sandhurst. It helps to come from a school with a strong military tradition, or at least it helped my cousin.

I was scowled at by Germaine Greer, when walking through a London tube tunnel someplace.

A friend of mine makes them, and as a perfectionist and engineer has added some nifty bits to make his more efficient than most.

It's not his main line of business but it might be worht dropping him an email at adam@swainson.co.uk

Two weeks for an appointment? My practice generally offers one on the same day if you ring in the morning. Or you could just turn up.

But as for the scans above: yes, they missed something in the second scan. But often you only see things if you know what you are looking for, and it might have been small at that stage (not visible on the first, you said)

The NHS is overstretched an underfunded as it is: taking the money & doctors out of the system to defend themselves is not likely to help anyone else, rather the reverse.

Been on stage with John Hurt, (Alien, Elephant Man, etc etc etc) with Prince Charles in the audience, darlings.

Hartlepool, on the other hand, probably should be a smouldering hole in the ground.

    BMW:
"because Bavarian Motor Works was founded by the merging of two aero engine manufacturers and the roundel represents the spinning of an aircraft propellors against a blue sky."

Not really so. The colours of the Bavarian flag are blue & white chequers – also used by Lowenbrau etc, so that's why they picked those colours

Anything in the woods between Durham & Crook? There are some marked bridleways en route.

Or put the wedge between the mattock blade ring and the wood. If you can't get to a hardware shop, make your own wedges

Just go the length of Rudland Rigg and back, and a couple of side-swipes down & up the scarps.

Second the puy (or small brown) lentil idea:
    200g lentils
    2 carrots
    2-3 sticks celery
    1 onion
    Lardons/ chopped ham
    + spicy sausages.

    Very very filling & warming,
Excellent for healthy morning bowel movements

    That's my standard software demo.
    Search PubMed,
    Text-mine the hits
Visualise the output, synthesise the pathway.

Funnily enough, I wonder about that one too. Not that I've met the guy, but it may have the potential to all go haywire.

Yes, years ago, via Statutory Declaration (easy, cheap) rather than by Deed Poll.

There was a bit of faff with banks, etc, but nothing serious. It was done when moving jobs & towns, so there was little confusion with the old name

May I answer on behalf of Ernie in case he's not around? –

He likes cycling. I've met him at Swinley as have many other STW people, and he's cycled to meet bodies in a London pub. Top bloke

    So why not?

For what it's worth, I'm none of A,B,C or G.
We've known her for years, but didn't see much of her when she was being all coupley (?)with A.
Her morals are fine. B was an aberration from what she's said – totally unexpected.

Walk around the Hole of Horcum which is Not far away.
It has a hilarious name but is pretty.

Take a steam train form Goathland for a few miles then walk back to where you started from.

You have to go to Robin Hood's Bay.
If the tide's out, walk ablong the sand, if it's in, walk along the cliffs to Boggle Hole

I drink from a crap-covered camelbak thingie when out riding or walking. The inside of the hose is covered in black mould.

I don't worry which way up my mugs go.

(However, fine glasses and stemware go base downwards to prevent chipping)

Go. It's a great place, lots of Art Deco architecture. It'll get dark early, this time of year though.

I found it very peaceful and rather mournful , as if I'd been dumped by a girl I wasn't keen on anyway.

    Let's see.
Perhaps 2-3 bottles of wine a week between Mrs M and me.
Then, pubwise, one or two nights, one or two pints apiece in poofy southern bars.

    £30 / week?
