    Isadora Duncan?
She just didn’t know how to tie it properly. Properly round the neck, Northern style, and call it a muffler. None of this wussy letting them hang loose.

I’m built for comfort, not for speed

    Chez Jules.
So good that Mrs M & I went back the next night.
Not pricey, bistro-ish, good fun, great food.

An 18-year old is legally adult, so not iffy at all.
Morally it may be very iffy, but when has legality been to do with morals?

As to young girls (or boys), the age of consent is variable depending on your country of residence: 18 in the US, 16 here, down to 12 elsewhere. So what happens if you take a minor overseas to Spain?
Thinking about it makes me slightly queasy. It didn’t when I was 19.

eeh, when I were a young man 15-year-olds were known as jail-bait but no-one seemed to mind. Isn’t there a saying.

Perhaps I’m a convert, DG. But usually a buff does the job and it fits in your pocket when you go inside or get warmer. They’re much more convenient.

Nah. I just put them in the microwave for the requisite time.

    Tamara Drewe.
It’s funny, romantic, light and unlikely to offend.
Also it shows the heroine with a propensity for sex on demand and starts with some beefcake to get your woman in the mood for lovin’

I enjoyed it, Mrs M enjoyed it.

SJ: Autohaus/ Acare charge about 12k for a VERY nice job, all mod cons. They’re at the foot of the Quantocks.

KK – don’t carpet, use some form of lino or industrial flooring. Our carpeted van got SO filthy and it was a swine to clean. You can always put mats down for wiping your feet.

I’ve had a converted Iveco – slow and tractorish but powerful, reliable. The pre 07 ones have a very low underslung fuel tank which you have to wartch. I split 2 on uneven surfaces.
Curently have a Ducato: huge, fast, easy to drive. Also cheap: I paid 15k incl VAT for a brand new one, 3L, hi-top, LWB on the last day of the year. About 10k cheaper than the corresponding VW.

B&B would be cheaper than that!

    Try googling ?

There’s a village car-park opposite the teashop. I’ve arrived at 5am and found cars there, so you may well be OK. Alternatively, some distance down the lane to the E of the pub. Green Street?

Take my mate out for a drink?
He’s a nice guy, too. Lives quite close.

My first big purchase from my first job after college, a 1975 Pioneer receiver. It still does the job.

Ooh. You need the Thorn Club Tour that I’d like to sell, complete with mudguards & pannier rack. You’re my height, too. It’s got tandem wheels so it can take the rougher stuff with the right tyres.

30 years later, Viners Prestige is still doing well. They’re not as shiny as they were new, but pretty good.

But look what he’s complaining about: not paid since the end of July.
So his August salary is 3 weeks late. That’s all.
    What’s the big deal?
    Tough.
    So is mine.
And I’ve been put onto part-time working, so there’ll be less.
I’m not complaining to my customers, just to the boss and you lot.

My first time on the Peripherique was magic: I got into a state of flow and treated it like a slalom, we moved through the traffic like a hot knife through butter and found the exit so easily.

But on the whole if you’re heading south I’d recommend going via the A26, Arras- St-Quentin – Reims – Dijon. It’ll be much easier. The extra miles are nothing when you can keep moving instead of retracing your route & getting stuck in traffic.

Well, I'd certainly turn down a chance to work in Afghanistan.
Especially as I'm going to a soldier's funeral tomorrow.
I don't see what the OP's problem is.

I think he's had a holiday in Tanzania and is about to start or just has started a job here. I guess he will need to sort out interweb access in his new pad, man.

And for Annabanana, he's tall and lean and serious-looking. If that's to your taste…….

Clifton is overrated IMHO. Try Southville (S of the river) or the areas between Clifton & the M32: Redland, COtham, Bishopston, Gloucester Road.
Victoria Park is also quite boho.

    Where will you work?

    Here's my new van.

We've spent about 35 nights in it since the beginning of May, and it's great. We had the shell converted to our spec for about the same as an off-the-shelf model.

It's effectively a bed-sit, with 5 separate areas, double bed up most of the time, kitchen, shower/bog , sitting area, driving area.

I was mugged in BC. Very politely, and they didn't take all or much of my money, but it was still a mugging. This was 30 years ago, I lived in Dangriga for 4 months. I loved it.

I was the only white boy in the disco – interesting times.
    Go there.
