The “Young Ones” house is about 50 yards from my front garden. I can see it from my bedroon window, whence I watched the first crew rock up for filming 30+ years ago. They’ve used a friend’s house in the same street for Skins.

Mrs M saw it as it steamed past Dilton Halt – I can’t remember the time

NAh, scooters are a good thing: they get kids used to the idea of 2 wheels good. Parents like them because they don’t take up space, and they can be folded after taking the kids scooting to school, then brought home until collecting the monsters in the afternoon.

But generally, there’s less cycling becuase of increased motorised traffic & more fun things to do indoors.

IF you can get to Vilnius, go there. It’s really pretty and has interesting museums & architecture. Pubs, too.

I don’t fancy playing sticky seconds to a bunch of overweight yanks.
I ought to let them know that she’s not real, though. Shame, ‘cos she’s got just the sort of beurrette looks I go for.

Google Fit on my Android phone doesn’t seem to use much battery at all. It’s not that accurate, but as a guide it’s fine. It’s free, so unless you want the heart monitor there’s no need to spend on anything else

The dangerous ones run at you, fast.

Waiting at a zebra crossing a few years back. Bristol Bridge. Two 20-ish girls talking: “..and then he ejaculated onto my face!”

Mrs Moses wouldn’t let me wait to hear the rest of the story.

Yes, they are essential for business meetings, networking and for writing shopping lists. Somehow the act of swapping cards is more significant than tapping phones – & much less fiddling required.

Since vistaprint will probably do you 200 for about six quid, it’s not a huge amount to fork out.

Go for it. Commercial mussels are no different, except that they are grown on ropes suspended from artificial islands so that the mussels don’t take in any grit or sand. They aren’t treated after collection, either.

Nope. Passed in 1964. I even got a “Knight of the Road” badge from the News of the World for being a compliant wimp. I still can’t do wheelies, theough 🙁

We’ve been topping up our pond with tap water for 20 years with no ill-effects, it still has (one) fish, newts, frogs and lots of insects etc in it.
    So use tap water.

    Don’t.
Or at least not an old VW if you’re intending to sleep four of you.
Why not get something a bit bigger, more modern & more comfortable?
For the cost of a week’s hire you could probably buy a cheap converted Trannie and junk it at the end of the summer

Having hurt my back being stupid, I will be looking for either a small FS frame or complete bike soon.

Only at night in the semi-dark, when aiming is more difficult, especially with a semi.

I was astounded in Pakistan to see men squatting to pee in the open air, not standing up.

Whether they are worthwhile depends on where you live. Ask your water company for an analysis. A softener will increase the amount of sodium you drink, which isn’t supposed to be good for you. The harder the water you have now, the more sodium there will be

What sort of things do you like doing?
All the above (possibly St Nick’s market, not St Anne’s) plus just walking around the harbour, Mary Redcliffe Church, the Lord Mayor’s Chapel, walk up Brandon Hill, the SS Great Britain (museum of the year some time back, expensive but excellent), if the Red Lodge & Georgian House are open, go into those too.

Mrs RM’s boss needs to do some research.
Where are his new client’s competitors based?
Are there any clusters or are they evenly spread across the US?

Are there applications in similar industries or it the product very specific?

A chum had an affair over a few years – well, a woman he slept with irregularly – for no good reason other than she was available. He told no-one except his best mate, who dobbed him in out of jealousy following a failed attempt to take the wife away for a dirty weekend. (The best mate wasn’t getting any at all, while chum was running two women, was the thinking)
Chum realised that his marriage was worth saving, dumped mistress, never spoke to best mate again. Chum says he feels guilty about wasting the other woman’s time because of her age, but reckons that shagging someone unsuitable for him as a life-partner, saved him from a later affair with a woman who might have split his marriage and family. FWIW, chum is still with his wife, ex-best mate still single at 55+. No idea about his girlfriend.

I’ve got both still living, both 91, both okish at the moment. Both still drive, which is a worry. My father can still walk 5 miles if he puts his mond to it, but my mother, hardly at all. I;’ll know more after seeing them this weekend, as they’re nearly 300 miles away.
I’m rather hoping that they drive over a cliff together before it all gets too bad for them, or that my brother supplies them with some long sleep pills.
In practice, it’s likely that one will end up living with us.

To be fair, many wood-burners contravene the Clean Air acts which make our cities benign places to live. My area can stink like a bonfire on cold windless evenings with all the woodsmaoke in the air.

So far as I know, the Guardian site doesn’t charge for access.
I can read it all on my laptop.
The same for the Independent, you just have to put up wit hads (same as with STW)

The Cheesy Riders use the Portcullis. Park your bike on the terrace outide the upper floor & it should be fine.

What about a 456 ? Would it require a longer fork to accomodate the geometry change from an Inbred ?

I assume that you’re in the Hebden / Mytho area?

Mattyfez is right, if I can install a legit copy of 7 over the current 8.1 then it’s worth the money.
I’ll just hope that I choose the right online shop for a download and key 🙂
    Yes, backups taken.

I’m a skip diver, and notice stuff that’s left around.
In the mid 70s I had an evening shift in the centre of Bristol which involved a walk to work down Park Street. I took an evening off to celebrate a whole year going out with the current Mrs Moses.
If I hadn’t, I’d have walked past the sports bag which the IRA had thoughtfully left in a recessed shop door a few minutes before it detonated. I know that I’d have spotted it and taken a look inside. Oops.

Yes, Mrs M & I did the same sort of thing for 2 weeks, for my 60th, & had a great time.
Check the climate for when you plan to go, the rainy season might be unpleasant.
If you want I can email you our itinerary. I’d say to avoid the rice boat trips on the backwaters, the main routes are like diesel-polluted highways with modern airconditioned tourist boats belching noise & fumes.

We also flew to Cochi, then travelled by bus, taxi & train. Don’t hire a car!

It also prompts for a product key which I don’t have 🙂

    Cougar, thanks
The sticker says it’s for Windows 8
I can’t beg licence keys because I’ve given up work after 25 years of being supplied with work laptops. That’s why I bought this thing.

I’ve not installed or reinstalled an OS for about 15 years, so have no idea how to proceed.
