The advantage of an intensive course is that you can go for a test quicker. The traditional one-lesson-a week gives you plenty of time to forget stuff, and delays the test for 20+ weeks.
An intensive course gives you a chance to pass quicker.

FWIW, my daughter passed her test first time, 10 days after first sitting behind the wheel, just turned 17.

Around here people tie Lost notices to lamp-posts. But the local fried chicken shack does a good line in urban rabbit.

That’s coarse fishing. They can probably buy a basic kit from a garage or the local equivalent of Wilco for less than £20. My family fished in Swedish lakes (with no licence) some years ago. we only caught small stuff say 6″ long, but they were gutted then popped in a smoker for 5 mins and came out delicious. The kids were very happy.

In the US, these are now being referred to as “Deaths of Despair”. There has been a massive increase in overdose-related deaths for white, non-hispanic working class men. No-one knows quite why, according to the Nobel prize-winning lecturer I listened to last week. It appears to be linked to feeling that everything is going to hell, especially for people like me & my kids.
The phenomenon is not so visible in Europe, but it’s there.

    Or lime?
Because they look like the ones that sprout in our garden from seeds produced by the trees over the road, especially your seedlings with the red-tinged leaves.

This Iveco HERE is the sort of thing I would look for. Not light on fuel, but a good size & robust.

Only 10 years old, 140k, not a bad buy.

Keep an eye on GUmtree for local campers for sale. 3/4-finished projects can go for little money, especially if it’s not based on a cool base model. (DAF? Iveco?)
Our first camper was a home conversion which cost around £6k, but we sold it 3 years later for not much less, so although not a banger, it worked out cheap to run.

But some people take lots of pictures of themselves, so I assume they like them.
    They’re called selfies, now 🙂

As per Cougar’s advice, changing the Flash plugin on the Firefox /Tools /Plugins seems to have worked for me.
Great. That thing had been annoying me for weeks

Just to be awkward, at 5’8″ and 30″ or less, I ride a 49cm Kona Major One (CX) and a Genesis 52cm CdF. The former fits me better. A 49cm Spesh Langster was too small by far.

I’ll flog you my unused Aldi £20 special if you want, a small side-opening double-skinned tent a bit like the Gelert. Not heavy, either.

I preferred my Paddy Wagon to my Langster, possibly heavier but an easier ride. I now have a Kona Major One, singlespeed scandi-framed cyclocross with 28mm tyres, which I like v much. I use Midge bars for a bit more leverage when climbing.

It’s not just a matter of weight, it’s to do with manufacturing techniques. Alu alloys can be extruded in complex, strong, sections and then bent into rims. That’s much nore difficult with steel and Ti because of their higher melting points and the way they change properties after heating / cooling.

I reckon it’s the children’s illustrator Prue Berthon

    Also, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/121229199522

“Beautiful large print (image is 43 x 32.5 cms, paper is 55 x 44cms). Title is “Early Morning, Midsummers Day”. From an original painting by Devon artist Prue Berthon, dated 1987. Print will be delivered in a cardboard tube to protect it. All ready to frame and enjoy. Includes the artist’s trademark black cat in the corner. Very relaxing and calming!”

Will Dracup would know someone local to you who could help. He’s done lots of stats on Imaging. And found a company or two.

I’ve been inside there a few times for work. Yes, they still do plenty of interesting stuff.

They have handwritten records from WW1 describing the effects of poison gases on men. These are the only ones available… after a few deaths and other accidents they decided to stop testing the real nasties on people.

we need to have something to trade. That’s financial services or manufacturing. For the last 30 years we have neglected the latter, so it’s going to be hard outside the EU.

RichinBish – You said (on p1)

What I’d like to know is why the lefty liberal elite hate our country so much

What makes you think that? Do answer, please…
I love it so much that I think other people ought to benefit from it.

POint about the “free education” that the oldies were supposed to have: most left school at 16 to start work.
Only 5% or so had post-18 education paid for by the state.

Mrs Moses has had an allotment for many years, about10 minutes walk from home.
It’s her way of getting out from the house and away from me & the kids (when they were young).
She provides interesting veg for us throughout the summer, & onions for about 4 month of the year, but the real benefit is the therapy and having somewhere to go.

girth = circumference, so 2″ girth wouldn’t be a problem. But 2″ diameter would have me screaming.
And something of that size would weigh nearly 600g,well over a pound. It would be worth getting rid of before a ride, though.

Have you photos of the semi-finished work?
Can you prove that you finished the work, not them?
If so, stick to your guns.

Write to tell them exactly why you aren’t paying. Their “legal department” will be a hired lawyer, I expect. Dn’t crumble, keep all correspondence

Being generous is one thing, but if you go on holiday & she doesn’t contribute anything, that’s a sign that these is a serious imbalance in the relationship. If she’s earning, she should be paying her way if you are equals.

No wonder the Brits have a reputation for being filthy, if half of us don’t know how to use a bidet.

About drying: you don’t use paper. Post wash, one’s derriere is sparkly so the usual practice is to have special ittle bum towel for all to use. After all, it’s just family & friends who use it.

    Bidets, what’s not to like?
Spare basin for when spouse is using the other.
Spare urinal, easier to reach than the sink.
Great for dumping grotty gritty clothes in after a ride without blocking the bath or basin
    Clean bottoms upon demand
    Post sex freshening, yes
    Chases clingons away!
    Ace for washing babies in!

I’m so pleased we have one.

If you see something you like, want to live with it on your walls, and can afford it; then buy. Once you’ve done that a few times you will have a collection. It’s easy!

We have a few prints by local artists and others from galleries we have visited on holiday. I’m sure that they are all worthless to anyone else, but I like looking at them still. All except for the one of lapwings.
