I see your point, but I still think 20-25% off the screen price is dreamland.

Sorry, Rich, but where do you get your facts from on the profit margins?

Take cars for example. It was rare we had more than £1200 across any car on the pitch.

I have had a quick play and just don’t feel it is as ‘polished’ as android. I admit that it is a personal choice, but that would be mine :)

I’m sorry, Richc, but If you were buying something from me when I was in the motortrade, I’d have binned you off as a customer way before you’d have chance to get half of that in!

Remember that, yes, it is a good time to buy and it is a buyers market. But for the love of god, be reasonable. If you went looking at a £20k car on a forecourt, would you reasonably expect to get it for £15k? I should hope not! Yes there are deals to be had, but no those which will run a business into the ground.

The salesperson will not appreciate a customer who is taking the proverbial out of them. I’d go down the other tack and use a consultative approach. Don’t be scared of the sales techniques. Talk to a sales exec, describe what you want. Make them feel important and respected by asking for their HELP! They will deal with these things day in, day out and have much more experience and knowledge than you! If a salesperson feels valued, you’ll probably get a bunch of discount before you even start negotiations!

That’s my 2p. I prepare to be flamed by those who think all sales people are greedy, heartless, good for nothing SOBs

Thanks guys for the advice – just thought I’d update you on how we got on.

I picked him and his ‘stunt king’ bike (and MTB-sylee SS kids bike with stunt pegs :? ????) on Saturday and headed back to my place. Waited for the weather to clear up a bit before having lunch then heading out.

Went down the grassy hill route, but we had to write it off as it was too muddy to get any forward momentum

Oh well, here’s to next time!

went over to the GF’s (lives with her parents) and me and her + the parents sat down to a full 3 courses of M&S ‘2 for £20’ gastro-genius.

    How was the food?

I considered getting the deal, but decided to do it myself in the end.

To be fair, it was spot on! I think these kind of deals are they forward for the cash-strapped!

A midfield 10, 12, 13 of Farrell, Barrit, Tuilagi would be the biggest tackling opposition they’ll have faced

true, but who’s your money on? Look at the defensive play of our backs…look at the stats of tackles made as a team. IF the ball flows to the backs, I don’t think England will have the stamina and will look a lot like the Wales team of the early-2000s – a 60 minute team.

I’m not saying they are unfit – far from it. I just think that the Welsh fitness will be too much for them.

England will try to make it a forwards game as they always do and who can blame them? The Irish pack was better at the Aviva and the Scots gave us a bit of a mauling. If England can slow the ball down at the breakdown, prevent quick ball getting to Phillips then Wales will struggle. You also have to look at Flood and Manu getting fit for the game.

Having said that, I’ll echo the comments of a certain Matt Dawson on Scrum V on Sunday night – on their day, Wales can beat any team in the world. Wales are more than capable of putting 20-30 points on England, winning the Triple Crown and getting in with a shout of the Grand Slam, but we have to get the forwards to play their game and not get bogged down by the spoiling game I’m sure England will try to play.

My 2p….and stand waiting to get flamed for it :)

Aa a Welshman I have no issue with Davies’ ban. However, why has Ferris been cleared? Same issues as at the RWC – consistency is lacking!

    Achievement? Really?

I tend to see it as a bit of a peeing contest with the USSR and the Americans proclaiming in 1969 that they do indeed have a larget collective willy than the Russians.

Arms race ended up being the space race. It was a publically acceptable way to make a military point.

I’m liking the look of the Welsh team. It’s always a tough game in Ireland, but they could do it!

And anything on any of the other teams? ;)

Wales – Priestland possibly out? G. Jenkins questionable? I think this is a huge worry for the Welsh. Jenkins obviously brings experience and quality to the front 3, but I must admit I’m more concerned about Priestland. After the way he played at the RWC, what Jones did in the Semi as a replacement, and the way Hook played…I think the number 10 shirt could be a game-changing point. In years past, a Welshman would be happy with either Hook or Jones. Now, I’m not so sure.
