Its the turning of the compressor off the engine, more load to turn the compressor means more fuel.

Its (the jet boil) is a personal cooking system, the 110 g gas canister and the burner fits inside the “pan”, I got a separate large pan adapter and steadying frame with mine, they are fantastic for bothy trips and the burn is 40% more efficient due to a heat exchanger under the “pan”

re gassing is pumping any lost coolant back into the closed system, the compressor “compresses the coolant, hey presto you get magic cold

True vader, its about horses for courses, the jet boil was fantastic high in the highlands last week but would I use it by the road, probably not.

You should use it every now and then as your book of words will tell you.

I’m not an AC engineer but it may just be a bit of “what have you” where it should not be.

Hmm trangias, great when we all donned huge packs and massive boots back in the day.

I have a jetboil system, its light, fast and well is a bit more 21st century.

Don’t get me wrong I had a few trangias over the years including the light weight personal one…………….. nah not for me anymore.

    Wellhouse Leisure

Try the link above to Wellhouse, my pal has a Toyota Granvia, its superb.

The vans get imported from Japan and get converted in to motor homes with complete new interiors.

I am toying with the idea of getting one myself.

I agree with you Joe, however a light weight bivvy bag such as a Hunka from alpkit weighs next to nothing and gives almost complete reassurance.

I was travelling over the Tyndrum hills last weekend bivvying out for a couple of nights with a down bag, hunka, wee aric mat and a jet boil cooker.

    It was a fantastic trip

In my view bivvying is about enjoying the outdoors especially Scotland and the ability to move light across the hill.

A good down light bag, light weight bivvy bag and mat are essential.

It just makes it all that more enjoyable and fun

been bivying for years, started off with an old ultimate sleeping bag and a survival bag.

Now in summer at least its a OMM down bag, alpkit bivvi bag and alpkit wee aric mat.

For that slightly more comfortable experiance I am this weekend going to be on top of Ben More.

    happy days

Just spilt with my partner of a couple of years at Christmas.

She has a 15 year old daughter who was a pain in the ass but manageable.

However she also had a drug taking a$$ hole of a 19 year old son who appeared at the house we had together a month after my partner moved in.

3 drug deals down the side of my house, steeling from me, getting sacked from jobs I had got him later it all went off the rails.

My issue was my partner who would not put common agreed behaviour controls around her own kids in which we all had a view of.

When she could not do that it was good night Vienna.

It was not about the kids it was about me and her, all a bit painful and raw but sadly inevitable, has it put me off no, has it made me suspicions yes.

I have spent some time today looking at loads of this stuff.

It looks like it is carte Blanche to buy what you want and from where you want.

So all these costs, have they been market tested, price matched or god forbid even tendered for, after all it is public money !!!!

The fact the company cleaning your moat or designing your web site or even renting your surgery from might be AHEM ! giving a bit back.

Bent twisted evil ass holes the lot of them.

    ALL TOGETHER NOW

There’s a rat in me kitchen what am I gonna do?
There’s a rat in me kitchen what am I gonna go?
I’m gonna fix that rat thats what I’m gonna do,
    I’m gonna fix that rat.

When you open your mouth you don’t talk, you shout
And you give every body the blame,
But when they catch you up,
    They will shut you up
And you got no one to blame

    Chorus

There’s a rat in me kitchen …….. Etc

When you out on the street,
    You practice lies and deceipt
    And you scandalize my name
But when I catch you up
    I’m gonna pull you up
I’m gonna check-out inside your brain

    Chorus

There’s a rat in me kitchen ……. Etc

when yo deh pon the scene,
    You make everyone scream
Because they know your so unjust
But when they catch you up
    They will kick you up
Because you someone they cannot trust

    Chorus

There’s a rat in me kitchen ……. Etc

    You invade my space
    Make me feel disgraced
And you just don’t give a damn
    If I had my way
    If I had my say
I’d like to see you hang

    Chorus

There’s a rat in me kitchen ….. Etc

    Repeat chorus and fade
