I used to have an iPad 3 for a short period which I enjoyed – I never thought during that time that I would want the screen any smaller although did find it a bit heavy at times.

I guess i’m worried that the mini is going to be a bit fiddly to use when it comes to making online purchases or filling in web forms etc.

Im planning on getting a singletrack digital subscription so will be doing a bit of reading. Dont think I would ever use it to read a book kindle style though.

Mine are commute / train related..

    1. People who lean against the middle pole on the tube preventing everyone else from holding on.

    2. People who use your chair (on a train – backrest) as a means of lowering themselves into their chair or to help them stand when getting off. Get off my chair and use your leg muscles you lazy brsds!

Especially if boiled then pan-fried with walnuts and bacon goujons.

Lets be honest.. anything pan fried with bacon is going to be nice..

Slighlty OT- I’d be interested to know why the entity that was allowed to buy the most shares (6%)- who they are. Apparently its an offshore company. I think every other company was allowed 3% max?

It was Fox, so they could intercept all their products being sent and re-sell them for profit.

Profeet in Fulham is very good, pricey though.
As suggested above, avoid the chain stores named above (especially Covent Garden). I tried SnR & Ellis Brigham and rapidly realised it was a complete waste of time (inexperienced college kids who had no passion).

Colin at Solutions4Feet is recommended but isnt very practical (hes always fully booked and not very close to London).

I kinda depends on what your feet are like. If they are normal and are unlikely to require boot modifications, then you should be fine at any store. I have wide feet / narrow ankles so needed a specialist.

On that note, what are conditions like at Swinley at the moment?

I live in a flat which has a communal bin area.

After catching one of them having a piss in the bin area, I most definitely wont be tipping (not that I was going to or ever have before, do people actually do this??)

Its not just putting bikes together that they are useless for. I ordered some shoes which were showing as “shipped in 5-7 days”. After waiting 3 weeks with no shoes, I contacted them asking what was happening with my order.

I was told they couldn’t source any more stock (manufacturer sold out for this year) and will refund me. They apparently knew that 2 weeks before my call….Not getting a refund earlier / automatically and only getting it as a result of me contacting them is very poor.

    AVOID.

If he likes his tech, how about an external USB charger? Can get some which can charge a smart phone up to 5 times on a single charge.

Good for camping or long bike rides if you are using GPS for tracking.

At Waterloo, I get full bars and 3G – but the 3G just doesn’t work.

In 11 months I’ll be switching back to O2.

I get the same. I work in central London and although my phone displays that I have signal + 3G, nothing seems to work.

Waterloo is the worst, never works there. Its one of the places I need data the most!! USELESS!

Switching straight back to O2 as soon as this contract is up.

Their swapables are a complete joke as well. Most of the apps they offer are free from the market place apart from Sky Sports…was good when they offered The Times app but they canned that recently.

    You did..

“£12.50/week then. Loaf of bread and some cheese = £4.50”

“Make my own lunch? So what, take five lots of cheese sandwiches in my suitcase? Don’t fancy eating those on a Friday.”

“If I’m at home, or commuting from home I can eat my own sandwiches at little cost.”

Lots of references to starch there ;)

I never have starch with my meals any more, don’t even think about it

Hang on, I thought you have a cheese sandwich for lunch everyday??

    BRUNCH?
    BRUNCH?

This is Great Britain, damn you! We have a late breakfast or an early luncheon. We do not have “brunch”.

*Wanders off muttering about the youth of today etc*

I suggest you give it a go and then let me know what your views are ;)

Eggs Benedict (or waffles etc), followed by cold market table (cold meets / salads / sushi / sashimi etc), followed by a selection of roasts… finished off by a massive desert table. Whilst this is going on, your glass gets constantly topped up with bellinis.

I wasn’t sold on the idea until I tried it, stop being so narrow minded ;)

Cookbookcafe – Go for their Market Table lunch.

Even better, go on Sunday for their “Brunch”… superb!

I agree completely. I have seen a few 3D films and find the whole thing a bit pointless. Only about 2/3% of the film seems to use actual 3D footage which means its really obvious and feels out of place.

My biggest issue is with the quality of it. I love watching things in HD due to crisp picture. 3D elements of films are grainy and fuzzy (for me anyway..?)

We dont watch 3d films now, we go for the better / cheaper 2d version.

I have a HTC One (personal) and iPhone 5 (work). Lets just say I love my HTC and hate the iphone.

My main issue is the lack of customisation / widgets on the iphone. Everything just seems locked down in comparison.

The HTC is perfect for me. Its great to hold, the screen is stunning, its unbelievably fast, scrolling through websites or emails is very smooth, etc etc.

I also like that a lot of the top paid apps on iPhone are free on Android.

My previous phone was a S2 and GF has the S4. Ok phones but appeals more for younger kids as everything is soft, rounded and colorful (ie not very sharp). Hope that makes sense…?

Use Google Chrome and do the following:

    1. Install Ad block (this remove all those annoying adverts).
    2. Disable images (can be done via settings).

That should reduce your data to just text which will made a big difference to bandwidth, assuming that’s what they are measuring..

Alternatively, TKMaxx have their snow stuff in stock now and some great branded gore text kit can be had for rock bottom prices.

Picked up a Salmon Gore Text jacket for £70 down from 250. Steal.

Well GF took this out for a good ride round Swinley at the weekend and there was some play / adjustment required after the ride but everything seems to be ok.

Just hoping that play doesn’t comeback after every ride..

True, you need to know where to go although that has been made easier over the past few years thanks to Strava..
