The wife and I are riding from Woodbank Park to Shootng Cabins and back on Sunday morning. Very little on road at all.
I’ll see if she’s got a gpx from the last time we did it if you’d like it?
It’s sort of Woodbank singletack, Pooh Sticks Bridge, Brabyns, Roman Lakes, Mellor Cross, Shouty Dogs, Lantern Pike, Middlemoor and then back by the cricket club, Wesy Hill, Furness Vale Bastid Up, Lyme Park, Woodbank.

Bladdy hell! I don’t think I’ll have that much to ascend from my house to the start! Can I use the tunnel through this hill of which you speak?

My train back to Manchester from Cheltenham is somewhere around 6:00pm’ish. Will we be anywhere near there by then? I don’t fancy riding home after riding to Winchcome as well. Not dressesd like that^ anyway. They’ll eat me alive going through Stoke On Trent 🙂

Mr N! Thanks very much! Fingers crossed my Mud X’s are in the post but if I’m stuck, can I take you up on your kind offer? I’ll only need one though.
I’m right looking forward to this bike ride.

I only need 1 tyre, 1 shed. Vittoria knobbly sounds interesting if you want to sell just the one?

    Yes please, thank you.
Is the car park easy to find? I’m following general A road signs so I doubt they’ll have a “Library Car Park” one just for me and I don’t have Sat. Nav. for the bike.

I love the clean and simple look of them.
I can see the fitness and technique benefits of them.
I love the very few mechanical issues with them.
    I own one.
I can’t ride the thing! It scares the life out of me.

Just up the road from me and ideally sited for my on and off road training rides. Mint!

Also Wilderness. Don’t underestimate the power of ‘fed up’. In some ways it can be more harmful than clinical depression.
When I’m catatonic with depression or giddy with mania, I know (although it doesn’t mean a thing at the time) that I can take medication to get me level again. My wife and family also know this. It’s not me they say, it’s my illness.
Fed up really is the person and external changes have to take place. Big events for everyone can happen. The biggest worry is the anger and frustration you’ll feel can lead to rash decisions that sometimes can’t be undone.
That little guy who feels so miserable and unwell….loves you, needs you and despite feeling horrible, will be pleased to see you. Think on it mate. It’s massive.

The symptoms you are describing suggest you’re unhappy with your life and life choices that you have made rather than a clinical depression.
Accept the choices you have made will always put people at the same level of priority as you at least, if not more so or make some life choices that puts physical and emotional distance between you and them.
A regular release of endorphins and a refocus of what YOU want to do/with/in your life should hopefully get your planets realigned.
In essence, you sound fed up. Not depressed.
    Good luck and chin up.

I’ll research some of those places Blackhound.
I’ve just finished Be Brave, Be Strong. She’s very American isn’t she?
I’ll not be worrying your record Jenn. Shorter route, with gears, twice as long to do it.
Pie Town….even the name of it makes me smile.

    Thanks! Quietly panicking now though.
I’ve done the Sarn Helen in under 4 days towing a trailer, I’ve ridden down from Edinburger to Glentress and camped in the forest, I’ve done the SDW in a day a couple of times..
My longest single day ride to date was 225 miles, London to Manchester. I regularly do 130 mile road rides….I’m going to die, aren’t I?
My most favourite ever off road ride by a long way has the been SDW. It just suits me fine.
I have the End to End pencilled in over 4 days (poss, 5) next spring.
No book or blog I wouldn’t have thought. I want to do it because I want to do it- apologise if that sounds glib. Not intended. A kind of selfish ‘just for me’ kind of thing.
I’ve just bought that book on Kindle NBT, but thank you. I’d not heard of the bear bones thing. i’ll start head pecking on their now. Thank you.
Waves to the long time, not seen Callum.
Thanks to evrybody for the good wishes. I’ll not go on about it too much….yeah, like!

You’re asking strangers on an internet message board to answer questions about you that you can’t even answer?
And they tell me I’m mental?
    I’ll indulge you anyway.
Bianchi manufacture a number of “racers”. They’ve not gone bankrupt yet which suggests they’re generally saleable.
Expect to ride on the road on a more rigid and quicker bike at the same time as other vehicles.
I can’t help on the last one. Best ask your (and/or) wife, mum, mates, budgie ad. infin.

Wouldn’t they have been better giving the guy at the front a front light, the guy at back a rear light and put the bloke with the yellow jacket in the middle?
The occasional near misses I have experienced are mostly cars pulling out in front of me from side streets.

9 people have bought one (at least). All but 1 of them would recommend it.
It doesn’t come with a rain cover but it’s good for a run commute if you can leave some shoes at work.
One eejit thinks it’s a childs pack.

From my perspective, yes. Saved me from having my ear held down on a red hot hob which was one of the methods employed by the person’s thugs who set me the task of getting him £150 within three days.
Christopher Little. Stockport. Google him if you can be bothered.
Like I said, I’m not proud.

I stole a bike once. Years a go. A Trek hardtail. It was high spec. From the owners garden. Desperate times. I remember shaking with worry and fear about getting caught.
I’m not proud of it and I wish I hadn’t had to but I had to get hold of something I could sell quickly for more than just a few quid.
I even thought I’d stumbled across the owner on here and I apologised and offered to pay for a modern day replacement. it wasn’t the same guy.
Sorry everybody. It was a rubbish thing to do.
If there was a chance of having a digit or hand cut off, I wouldn’t have done it. That doesn’t mean I’m all for such measures. A fine paid to the bike owner to pay for a new bike and a 50% more to the courts would do it. Prison if you don’t pay.

MHS James? If so, go and have a chat. New’ish head (Dr) is very approachable as are heads of years and depts.
The place is on the up. Driven by people with a passion for teaching.
Emily is year 11. Top sets in most since year 7 but oddly bottom set for Maths.
She’s still in top for most subjects (predicted B*, A and A*) and mid set for maths.
We’ve have loads of support from the school.

6 (miles) divided by 34 (mins) = 5.6666666 according to my Busicom BS-7938CX Dual Power 8 Digit calculator.

    Ahhh, should be 6.4 miles = 10K.

It now says 6.4 (miles) divided by 34 (mins) = 5.3125.

Bin the 10 mile TT = evens idea disco. You’ve got no chance.

Why not, might as well, always a good move.
    Yes.
