Whilst not universally popular I’ve spent many hours enjoying the Resistance trilogy. Never thought the online part was that great though.

I must be in the minority then. If I hear Lammo mention Brit pop one more time I’ll switch over to Heart FM.

BBC radio becomes XFM for the week.

    +1 for Zondas.

I had Fulcrum 5s new from June and rode them all through the winter about 3 times per week, the rear hub is now trashed. They are a good wheel and roll quite fast but based on my sample of 1 I’d question the longevity in wet, salty conditions.

I now have Zondas which are racing 3s and they are a definitive improvement over the 5s so I would imagine you would notice and improvement going from 7 to 5, saying that for my winter hack that I will get in time for next year I’ll just bung 7s or whatever the Campag equivalent is as they come in cheaper than Fulcrums despite being the same wheel.

You should always feel a good benefit, I know on our club hammerfest I welcome the shelter.

If your sticking out like a sail or not that tight on the wheel then the effect will lessen. Crosswinds can also play a part and in that case where possible and if it’s safe to do so you should echelon.

Apparently they’ve also had a festival, why they failed to mention it is beyond me.

I can’t listen to Shaun “I can’t think of anything interesting to say to i’ll just do a naff impression” Keaveney.

If he just played the music and stopped trying to be a comedian it would be a start.

There are however a dearth of alternatives

Most shirts have 3 pockets that can carry all you need without the need for a rule breaking saddle bag :-)

I have a Lezeyne caddy sac that I put my phone, cash and a credit card in. Just putting a phone in a pocket leaves it subject to the ravages of sweat.

    They come up big.

I’ve got a 53 Bianchi that’s a perfect fit, I sat on the 53 Forme and it was at my limit. If I was buying I’d get the 51.

    I’m 5:9

Do you need to have cadence and power meters for it to work?

No not needed at all but cadence is useful as there’s a lot of cadence recommendations throughout the videos. The hardest thing is gauging your perceived exertion rate.

My favourites are The Hunted, he’ll hath no fury and Angels. I’ve heard good things about the 2hour Giro one as well.

There’s a wealth of stuff on Mixcloud. Search for sleeveless soul there’s years of stuff from them. Awful awful dj’s but a magnificent collection of vinyl.

I’ve got the SS version and I was debating whether I needed the long or short sleeve. Ultimatley I think the SS is more flexible.

So far this year the lowest temp I’ve been out in is 3-4 degrees. I’ve worn a long sleeve Endura baselayer and nanoflex arm warmers and its plenty warm enough. For sub zero I’m toying with the Espresso Jacket but I think the Gabba will cover 90% of my requirements so I may wait and see how it fares when it gets really nasty.

    Highly Recommended

    oh and size up.

For road I do like Castelli clothing. Their Gabba jacket is an excellent piece of kit.

Have to agree on the DHB shorts i’ve a couple of pairs bought this year and they’re already looking very tired. Whereas my Castelli ones still look box fresh plus the pad is better, but they are more expensive.

Do they make slim fitting mtb clothes.

Was never really bothered about George Graham. He did actually manage to win us a trophy in what was admittedly the dullest final ever played.

Sol – now I still hate him. Not because he went to Arsenal but the way he did it.

When I properly went I used to hate Paul Allen, everyone else thought he was wonderful, i just thought he ran round in circles.

Then there was the idiots who created the Hummell problems that meant we were so much in the shit financially we had to sell Waddle just as we were buying Lineker.

I found a hypnotherapy session worked to a degree before a flight to HK. I still dislike it and find every minute in the air lasts 3 times longer than a minute on a turbo trainer.

People can spout as much as they like about how safe it is but that makes no difference, its an irrational fear.

I’ve got a pair of the Castelli Velocissimo 3/4 tights and they are excellent. The pad is much more comfortable than the dhb bib shorts I have. They do cost £85 so a bit over your Budget but IMO well worth it.

I prefer them over shorts and leg warmers

I have the short sleeved Gabba with the Nanoflex arm warmers and I wear this over a merino short sleeved base layer.

I wouldn’t want to be wearing that combo when it got too cold, although it was just about spot on for Sunday with early heavy rain followed by dry and warm weather it quickly dried out and wasn’t uncomfortable at all. It’s not packable but can be worn on its own on those warmer days.

Autumn and Spring its fine whereas i’ll be looking for something more robust for temperatures below 10 degrees C

Keith Lemon – one trick pony
6Music weekday breakfast DJ – makes my teeth itch
Range Rover drivers with personailised number plates – Have found they dislike sharing the road with others

There are a million others but i’m veering into rational rather than irrational (MP’s, soap stars, reality TV people, anyone that buys Heat magazine, etc, etc)

That Cerys trailer is also radio smashing material.

“think of yourself as a pirate” STFU and pull your head of your arse, you’re just playing a few records.

That normally means there’s some non number values in those columns. If the content is sorted it will default to sum rather than count.

weekday breakfast dj should be shot. You’re a worse comedian than you are a DJ. Bring back John Holmes from XFM for that slot although the clue is in the title it’s 6music not 6 inane banter.

Radcliffe & Maconie are ok, can get a bit up themselves sometimes.

Bowman and MA Hobbs are rubbish, lauren is excellent, lammo is pretty good too.

Out of all of them Huey plays the best music IMO

The station still knocks spots off any other despite my mithering.

Went loads from 81. Just missed Wigans closing bash but the scene was quite vibrant then with Leicester, Cleethorpes, Rotherham, Hinkley, p’boro to name a few.

Did get to see quite a few live performances at the Hinkley niters such as JJ Barnes, Major Lance, Eddie Holman, Junior Walker to name but a few.

Preferred modern soul compared to the 60’s music such as

I have a 3 in the kitchen and a 5 in the living room and soundwise you can tell the difference between the two.

I also have the Napster service, which I run through their proper app via airplay rather than the Sonos app becasue I don’t find it as feature rich, I expect Spotify is the same. Airplay also enables me to stream any internet sound through the sonos so I can get my 70’s funk and soul fix from mixcloud for example.

Very pleased with it and I’m tempted by the soundbar now.

I also have just bought one from Evans courtesy of the PSA that was on here recently and i’m normally a medium so ordered a large.

As with crashtestmonkey I find it snug against the chest but looser around the belly. Quality wise I like it and it’s the first Castelli item i’ve bought, but it I was paying RRP I’d maybe look at Gore next time.

My top was made in Bosnia if that means anything.

My commute is 34 miles and I tend to drive in with kit and cycle home in the evening and ride back in the morning. That works fairly well although I’m a fair weather commuter.

Wind is the biggest factor as the entire route can be a headwind.

It’s by far the best station out there IMO, you want to try listening to XFM for more than half an hour just to see how varied the playlist is.

However I can’t stand the breakfast dj though who seems to think he’s on BBC 6 “i’d rather be a comedian doing my stupid impressions than playing this shit” and not 6 music

I like all the other daytime presenters and Huey at the weekend

Seadog I had the same problem I was always stroking at circa 32spm for the 10k and just burning out too quickly to ever get under 40 minutes. Spend a bit of time on the C2 UK forum and there should be enough to keep you busy for a while.

I wouldn’t want to be doing a 10k any faster than 25spm. A good session would be to row for 30 minutes at a 20spm and see how you get on.

Get rid of them before they do damage. I’ve now had them get in ours 3 times and you’re right it does sound like they’re are jumping up and down above your head.

The Nespresso pricing model appears to be based on inkjet printers…

Not really 30p a cup is quite reasonable IMO, if only I could stop the kids drinking it I might not have to order so many.

It would be nice to get them from the Supermarket but their customer service and delivery speed to date have been excellent.

Just had 8 put up near us, you can see the buggers for miles. Must be about 1/2 – 3/4 of a mile way from the house.

Can’t hear them at all, I quite like them TBH

If it was me I’d be looking at the real easy stuff to grow that should be put in after the frosts are definitely over (end of May)

For my 1*10 set up I used the following :

    SLX shadow plus rear mech
    Hope single ring
    short bolts
    E13 chain guide (top only)

works flawlessly with no rubbing at either end of the cassette
