I had an AS-186 a few years back, they were a bit more expensive then.

The seals weren’t great and needing taping up, however, it worked reasonably well once sealed properly.

I would recommend getting a moisture trap for the airbrush as well as the one on the tank if you are spraying in the garage. When there is more moisture in the air (now) the single one on the tank will not catch it all.

I had this on both this compressor and the Iwata one I have now until I got a 2nd moisture trap.

Incidentally, the reason I got rid of the AS-186 was that I thought it was crap when all I needed was the additional moisture trap.

I’d walk from houghton mill into St Ives, have a slab of cake from Tom’s cakes, then walk either back the way you came or do a round trip via Hemingford.

If you like your spirits Wadsworths in St Ives have a huge range and is worth a visit.

Any of the walks along the river are worth doing. You can walk along the guided busway from St Ives and turn off at the nature reserve at fen Drayton for example.

Those that have been saying Huntingdon is a shit hole are over selling it.

I’ve got a pair of 4.50 NC headphones that I’ve used on a few flights and on holiday this year.

I like them and find I no longer need the subtitles on even with the full volume on a flight. Added bonus that they cut out screaming kids, unfortunately, they cannot yet resolve the dick kicking the back of your seat.

I didn’t try the Bose headphones as I couldn’t justify double the cost for the limited use mine will get.

Apple TV covers most bases and I can AirPlay prime quite happily to it, although an app is rumoured to be coming.

It’s just expensive compared to the other solutions out there.

I liked all of the Resistance series. Uncharted and ratchet and clank are good too

Tamiya or gunze paints were my choice. I found gunze levelling thinner to be better than the tamiya white top thinner. The tamiya yellow top thinner is also good. Get a decent mask though.

    Alcad for metallics

Smoke is a gloss finish so will need flattening down after application, can be a nice subtle effect.

I used it mixed with clear orange and yellow to create shadows on wood effects, my genre of choice was WWI aircraft

I do, they were all covers.

First album I had included my ding a ling and crazy horses iirc

Can’t imagine there’s too much of a market for them these days.

Just got surrealist pillow by Jefferson Airplane after stumbling across them recently. My new favourite album.

If you are riding from Cambridge i’d do what theraggyone says and head towards Saffron Walden and North Essex.

Below are a couple of 40-mile loops out of SW I’ve recently completed.

Whilst the DBC is an excellent base and set up I don’t think it would be my first point of call if it was a weekend away with the missus sans kids.

Just ordered one after a test drive.

They drive very well, but the attractiveness is the low bik rates of 9% against the 28% I currently pay. I don’t pay for fuel either.

Split rear seats are extra and unfortunately, you can’t put a tow bar on them. (PSA Thule rack for sale)

Big issue is lead time which is currently mid-December

EZ line is the easiest rigging material IMO

My particular niche was WW1 Biplanes and whilst rigging can be frustrating to the point of gouging your eyes out it is ultimately rewarding when complete.

My particular favourite was a DH2. Fishing line would have been too structurally strong to keep the Booms square whereas EZ line did the job magnificently.

A needle with the eye cut into a U is a good tip, you just have to constantly burn off the dried glue

Just to pick on Gary … (for the point of illustrating) but thousands of pubs throughout the UK are full of people who could present the football for a fraction of the cost … and the actual football itself is unchanged… just the blokes commenting on it ???

but you only have to listen to Talksport for 30 seconds to realise how gormless the average fan is, and whilst they may be able to critique a game very articulately in their head once it’s turned into words it becomes gibberish.

Agreed re Nick Knowles, I’d pay Keaveney that to not present.

If we are discounting those top of the pops albums that were all covers, that you got in wollies then it was tonic for the troops the boomtown rats. If not it had crazy horses and my ding a ling on it.

I would say a definite yes, but as Rapha have sales as frequently as dfs I’d wait until then.

It’s at the bottom of the screen and going from memory appears when you turn it off erg mode onto resistance mode.

The picture on this page http://www.ride-fit.com/Blog/Spinning-Bike-And-Turbo-Trainer-Workout-Blog-071913.html#.WTmvkut4WK0 shows it at the bottom left of the screen

Presuming it’s a smart Vortex then the tr app takes away the erg mode when you do the 5 minute and 20 minute blocks on their ftp test workout. .

I have a bushido, which is very similar and I just take it off erg mode about a minute before each block and flick the resistance slider on the app to between 15-20%

This is on the Mac app

Unless you are near to front when they open up the gates at MK it’s always going to be a struggle to keep with the leaders, gets me every time.

Interesting there were fisticuffs at the end i’ll have to see if I can find out more.

If you don’t find a suitable ride to the coast then it may be worth looking at routes up to Rutland Water or i’ve done this one that gets as far as Finchingfield.

I record mine on a Garmin 500, I switch the gps off and just press start. My HRM is also a Garmin.

I then import into training peaks quite happily, not tried strava but I’d imagine it would work equally well.

    2k in 6 minutes, that’s 1:30 per 500 metres

Good enough to win the women’s open at BIRC, by quite a margin too

My least favourite part of the build as hours of work can be screwed in a couple of minutes.

I never settled on a favourite although I airbrushed. It may be worth having a look At Vallejo or something in an aerosol can from the likes of humbrol or winsor & newton.

Please test before unleashing on a pride and joy

I’d agree with Monde. You wouldn’t buy a BSO

I bought a cheap compressor and airbrush and both lasted about 5 minutes. You will definitely need a moisture trap, in fact if you are spraying out in the garage, especially this time of year you could probably do with two. I have one on my compressor and one at the brush.

There is a learning curve, but the results are much better than a brush and you don’t need to have any artistic talent.
practice on some cheap kits and look what others are doing re shading, weathering, highlights and shadows etc

I have a h&s airbrush and iwata compressor.

My experience if bianchi warranties are they are pretty good. Their frames have 5 year warranties so you might just sneak in.

My Sempre pro went at the same bit although you have done a better job on yours.

I used to be similar to you although not as severe, although I did have a couple of panic attacks before and after flights. What seemed to make it worse was more often than not a plane would crash the day before I flew, making the papers in the airport WH Smiths a must avoid. Happened again this year with the Egypt flight.

A combination of having a strong word with myself ( a series of very wet UK holidays didn’t help so I changed my thought process to actually want to go abroad) and hypnotherapy sessions have reduced the anxiety quite significantly although the preference is still for several drinks prior to take off irrespective of flight times, however I can fly without alcohol. Films on the iPad help the time go quicker, and noise cancelling headphones help distract the mind from listening out for every change in the engine noise.

People that manage to fall asleep before the plane even takes off annoy me immensely.

I did something similar with Google Earth. From what I remember I was limited to 9 layers so you have to export it once you get to 9 routes and re import that as a flattened file. I had 20+ routes I was stitching together.

For £3k I’d get a Bianchi Infinito cv with Athena

Maybe a bit more info would be helpful

I have an Iwata compressor (looks remarkably like the Studio sprint Jets) and H&S Evolution 2in1 airbrush (4mm & 2mm), however I think one of nozzles on the AB needs replacing (about £15 IIRC)

Everything works perfectly, AB also has a moisture trap. Compressor has never missed a beat.

Not at home, but I can get you some photos tomorrow (on bike straight from home tonight so won’t be back till late)

Say £130 for the pair for an extra £20 I can throw in all my paints, varnishes, thinners, stuff I’ve accumulated over the years.

You get a much more controlled finish with an airbrush compared to either cans or paint brushes therefore enabling you to blend colours, create soft edges and shadows and highlights that you couldn’t do otherwise (unless of course you are a highly skilled artist)

As with most things buying cheap can lead to buying twice so if it was me I’d be looking at an Iwata compressor and a Harder & Steenbeck Ultra airbrush. You will need a moisture trap on the compressor and probably its worth getting one for the brush as well.

I think the gap is too big for us to make up although it will probably mathematically go to the last game, just to prolong the agony.

As has been said we dropped too many points as the beginning of the season with draws at home. Losing at home to Newcastle and dropping a two goal lead against Stoke were the real killers.

    Ro5ey Soton is at home
