2012 was the last of the handjob. Cove are currently revamping their hardtail lineup, so this year there was no stiffee or handjob. I think this is one of the last new frames about

I have had 2 Santa Cruz, a superlight about 10 yrs ago and more recently a Nickel. I must admit the paint job on the Nickel was terrible. The paint chipped really easy. So sold it on, now own a very nice anodised Rose Granite Chief.
Would i have another….Hell Yeah, the new Chameleon looks brilliant, but I would only get one in anodised.

We did some club kit with NWMBA/OnePlanet Adventure a few years ago. If you want me to I can speak to the chap who organised it at (NWMBA) and find the suppliers.

For gods sake do not buy an Insignia petrol. Couldn’t pull the skin off a rice pudding. The diesels are fairly good but the petrols are rubbish.

It is 1.6mm, as a 9 seater minibus can be driven under a normal license with D1

As for the offence, YOU the driver take responsibility once it has been signed over to you. It is up to the driver to check the vehicle once it has been delivered (well done OP for doing this) and note/report any faults. If not and the driver uses the vehicle and you get stopped, the points go on your license. The hire company(s) have a legal obligation to provide a road worthy vehicle to the driver, so they will have to either replace vehicle or the tyres.

I am glad the OP has done his checks.

I think Jamies “get out” was for TINAS and his superb pun :-)

As far as finance goes I would feel very uneasy taking out finance on an item which doesn’t hold value. Finance has it’s place certainly, but I think the only way it would work with an item such as an MTB would be to offer 0%. From a business point of view this makes a great deal of sense. You will attract people who can afford the item, but as has been said before, you can still hold on to your money if you so choose.
At the end of the day its down to the choice of the consumer.

Hi Tom, I am from the area. If you go to Llandegla try some of the stuff away from the trail center. You can do a full day out if you want to by linking up some sections towards the masts. There is also a new natural xc trail just opened, all natural and takes 2 days to ride!!! If you are interested ask for directions in the cafe. It gets busy at weekends so go early. Parking is £5. The coffee and food is great.
As binners said, I love penmachno. Its a bit more “wild”, less trail center sort of stuff but it has no cafe. There is a pub that sells food and welcomes mtbers in the village tho. Enjoy.

8O sounds like a fun place to work too. Good job you didn’t go in with a SS or fixie. They would have had you tied up and held hostage. Was the shop called “Fritzells Cycles”??

Just sent him an email ” Dear Sir, Foxhill sounds a lovely place, very quaint. This weekend both myself and my friends, The Northern Chapter of The Hells angels MCC and Associated Members of UKIP shall be around the area all weekend looking for a suitable property with 10 bedrooms and a dungeon for our satanic sacrifices. Please do not be alarmed, as we all ride noisy, stinking harley davidson motorcycles. So we should be easy to recognise.” :D

OP, it. Is a Police matter. Current age of crimminal resonsibility is 12 yrs( me a cop, wife works with young offenders), just dial 101 and report nuisance youths, give numbers, location ages and description. If they were in uniform you could report the matter to the school they were from.
Probably won’t get a cop, but a community bobby attending, unless a cop is in the area. They have committed an offence, but more than likely will get asked to move on/stop being idiots.

We’ve covered the argument that on a night shift there are few fires and you can sleep. A number of firemen have other sideline jobs.

@lummox its not that the pension scheme doesn’t suit them, it’s not affordable. Do the calculations based on length of service, final salary, retirement age. I do believe very strongly that a contractual obligation is that, if you are enrolled in a scheme that’s binding. However, whilst I haven’t seen the contracts I strongly suspect there is a lot of wiggle room in them legally for the terms to be changed.

Hit the nail on the head there. The issue is not that the pensions are changing, but that those who signed up to a certain product (pension) are now having that taken away. If you join, you sign up for whatever pay/ pension scheme is being offered. If you signed up with a 25 yr mortgage fixed for that time, then halfway through the provider suddenly decided that you can no longer have that product as it was costing the provider too much, and they changed it, would you be happy?

17yrs as a bobby, I have seen first hand the work of the Fire and Rescue service, you guys do brilliant work. As has been said the fire service has had some massive changes over the last 10 yrs.The pension situation is in a terrible mess, I too have lost the pension I was promised when I joined :(
At least you guys can strike. I have never ever seen moral as low in ALL emergency services.

I had similar problems about 2 years ago, wanted a 26 ss but no one was offering them anymore as 29 was the wheel size manufacturers were offering. I eventually bought a Kinesis decade virsa frame, brilliant bike with sliding dropouts, so ran it ss/alfine and now its 1×10.
I think secondhand is the best way with your budget, plus if you want to run a ss tensioner then most hardtail frames will suit.

No worries. My FIL is a big cricket fan, we took him on a visit to Lords Cricket ground for his birthday (70th). Had a great day out, we also got him a really nice bottle of whiskey from a local specialist. Not sure of your dads taste but something like that may be nice.
