Just bought a Volvo XC60 . Most expensive car i have ever bought. Main dealer was just as crap as cheaper cars salesmen I had the mispleasure of being with. The deal felt like i was taking the food bowls from his children. Heart ruled, as i bought it. Should have listened to my head. Its going back for a 3rd visit to rectify things they couldnt do the first 2 times. I have ranted to Volvo, their boss and nothing has come of it. I think the majority are the same, almost as grimy as estate agents. Also, why do they put the a/c on arctic when you try a car out. Is it a way to make you only have a short test drive ?
On another note, a friend went to Rover, to look at a new Range Rover. Guy is well off. Salesguy didnt see that in the clothes he had on, ie scruffy jeans and T shirt. He was allegedly looking to see if he had an expensive watch to back up wanting to buy/ afford a car. When he realised who he actually was, it all changed. It changed for my friend as well, as he bought his new car at another dealership, who didnt have the same ‘diagnosis’ of its potential customer when they walked in the door.

We were screwed over by volvo a few years ago with an S60. It was my 3rd volvo and I wouldn’t ever entertain one again. Bought my Audi from a local skoda dealers on the wirral. Possibly the most pleasant car buying experience ever.

Love the place. Some really good singletrack. As a local I am used to riding in the wet! As has been said, it is not a trail centre, so for food pop in to Betws where there is loads of choice. It can be exposed so treat it as if you were riding au naturel.

Mrs Monkeysfeet has done this for years. With Mini. No issues and a good scheme if you are not bothered about ownership. We use it as an affordabel way to run a new car.

I’d have bought it. Just for snits n’ giggles…then sat back and awaited their response. :twisted:

That said i feel for you OP. what should have been a product to protect you and your bike has caused damage.

We have done it a few times. Go over by car on the eurostar and do a few days, paris, disney etc. We have rented cottages and the last time we stayed at Val D Europe, staying in the residihotel (imagine a large hotel room with a small kitchen, and lounge). The train journey was only one stop.
Eating out in Disney is very very expensive, so evening meals are best yaken away from the resort.

I love my wife, she is amazing/fantastic etc…. But after 17 yrs of marriage I do drown out her constant talking/moaning/white noise and do “switch off” occasionaly. As such I am often in deep doodah as I miss entire conversations or important pieces of information.

I use shimano AM 41’s. Same pair for 3 years now, used all year. Great shoes. Stick them in the washing machine every now and then.

Sent some forks to a fellow stw’er last week, from Mold, parcel force 24hr. No issues from me or the buyer.
