For one Police officer in the a police vehicle without the right equipment they need to prove the accuracy of the vehicles speedo at that time. Least that’s how I understood it.

One officer in a vehicle cannot offer an opinion of speed unless they are in a vehicle with a speed varification system. Two officers can put in a statement offering their expert opinion on the speed of a vehicle without said equipment.

Craig, I am in emergency services,

If you got the officers’ details pop down to your local police station. Ask to speak to a supervisor (sgt or above) and explain what happened. Any good supervisor would speak to the cops involved, you may get it resolved or not.
I am sorry you were treated in this way, hope it gets resolved.

Scar Tissue, the Anthony Keildis (lead singer from Red Hot Chilli’s) is amazing.
The Metallica one is quite good, tells of how the band lost Cliff Burton, Jason Newstead etc. very good.

Was the walk 20 miles? if not you wernt really hammered

It was a fair walk…..and that will remain my excuse :D

A long time ago I ended up at a nurses xmas party in Kings Lynn. I was hammered and ended up going back with a rather large, but lovely lady.
Unfortunately the walk to her house sobered me up. She lay on her bed and released two huuuuge breasticles, i realised I couldn’t go through with the deed… Being the sophisticated guy i am i made an excuse to go to the loo and scarpered.

If you are reading this o’ buxom one I do apologise :?

Have owned a BFe, didn’t rate it. First impressions of the Slackline are that it is vastly superior in many ways!

Brakes arrived, hoses shortened, just got to cut the fork steerer and install the starnut now, then get some nice photos of it in the daylight.

Really? I was looking at the Stanton Slackline too. In what way is the stanton superior? Quality or ride? Also looking at a dialled prince albert. Moving on from my Kinesis Decade Virsa which is running at 100mm so will be swapping most parts over. Forks will be 140 mm revelations

Yup, I am IAM and trained in other driving techniques through work. :D
It is a good skill, the course certainly gives you confidence and skills the basic driver can use.

The biggest plus (for me) is (was) learning to use your observation skills.

The other courses you can’t learn on public roads :-)

Been out into the Clwydians. Lovely and sunny, but foggy on the tops. Muddy and slippery on most trails.
Just cleaned the bike and sat with a brew and toast :D

January 2013 – the French government announced that the implementation of the sanction for drivers not carrying a breathalyser – a fine of €11 – has been postponed indefinitely

Handy to know, cheers Matt. The french change rules more times than italians change sides. :D

Considering the state of his opposition, it’s not totally inaccurate.

Not much difference really, but take change for the motorways, if you are nervous (and if its your first time, pfnaaar, you will be) just use more observations, plan ahead, don’t rush….enjoy the road trip.
France is really easy to navigate around too. We always manage with a paper fold out map.

Don’t forget your hi vis/breath/alcohol kit too. Compulsory equipment you heed to carry.

Moonter, spoke to my friend last night, he has just sold his last restored one, but he has an ex military 110 2.5 petrol. He has only just bought it and it does need work. It’s lpg but the lpg system is faulty.
    Sorry.

No, sorry, there is no way on this earth Magnum are a metal band, they’re as Prog as it comes. I’ve got several tracks from “Storytellers…” on my phone that crop up fairly regularly, and I saw them four or five times back when that album came out, along with Metallica and Anthrax, and Magnum could never be considered ‘Metaaaaaaaaaaaal’ \m/.

Ha ha. I will give you that, more rock than metal. Good band though.
I remember some bizzare scandinavian thrash bands from the 80’s
Bathory were up there with the good ones

The 80’s had some great metal/rock bands. From the prog rock of Magnum and Marillion (now with Steve Hogarth/Seasons End) to Zodiac mindwarp and the Love Reaction!!

There was a rough looking 300tdi 90 on ebay in Auchterarder. Chassis was shot, bulkhead looked ok. I was thinking about a new galvanized chassis, and possibly a galvanized bulkhead. Thing is even shagged 90s with a log book fetch over a grand.

Should anyone see anything at a reasonable price and condition please let me know.

A chap i know buys and sells landrover as a hobby. I can ask him if he has got anything at the moment. What are you after?

    Dave, nice video.
Well done to the volunteers who give up their time to work on the trails at Penmachno. I know how much effort and hard work goes into rpairing/upgrading trails. As has been mentioned in many previous posts Penmachno is a trail centre, if folk don’t want to ride there, then don’t, but don’t insult folk who give up their spare time to repair trails which are free to use.
If you have not been there, please do. It’ts worth the ride out. Spend money and support the locals.

    Cheers,
    Steve,NWMBA.

Bikebox Alan – excellent customer service. They will be able to advise on size/fitting.

Expensive but you get what you pay for.

(I rented one, I don’t own one – but if I was in the market for one I wouldn’t look anywhere else).

I had the exact opposite experience with them. Very very bad customer service and couldn’t be bothered to sort the problems out. This was before an Alps trip a couple of years ago, so not sure if they have changed. I wouldn’t recommend them.

Very, very sad news. Mrs Monkeysfeet was involved in a RTC there years ago. There is a slight dip in the road which can hide/obscure vehicles. RIP. :(
