You are right, I know nothing about Compulsion. I am an expert in Criminal Law, however. 😉
You obviously feel very strongly about this, so why not join the group and contribute something towards the topic.

@Nipper99, I fail to see where the “farmer bashing” occurs in the consultation response?
The purpose of the group is to give MTB a voice in the access and rights of way network across the UK. Somethng that we (as rights of way users), have not had before. If you look at other user groups, horse/ramblers, they have had representation for a good while now. The legislation regarding ROW is complex and sometimes “blurred”. By having a voice in the consultation process we can put forward our needs, whilst taking into account the needs of other users.
This can only be a good thing.
We at NWMBA have an experienced, well informed individual in our corner. (someone who has championed the use of the rights of way for MTB’s on Snowdon for a number of years). If you go onto the FB page and join the group you will learn more. If you have any concerns they can be raised there.

We used to use British Gas as we were on one of their repair/pay monthly contracts. When we had the really bad cold snap over Xmas (3years ago maybe) our boiler packed up on Xmas eve!
Anyway BG didn’t have any available local repair men so they sent one of their contractors. They did a fairly rubbish repair, so bad that water from the boiler was left leaking onto a light switch. This resulted in the Mrs being electrocuted.

Ended up a supervisor came round and by boxing day BG had fitted a brand new boiler.

Needless to say we are no longer customers 😕

I loved TLOTR trilogy but thought the Hobbit was a bit Meh. Can’t put my finger on it, loved the book as a kid, but 3 Films was a bit much TBH.

North Wales, mostly Hills and “Classic XC”. Occasional trail centres but prefer natural stuff 😀

Oh, this one took the biscuit!

Not a trail per-se but an event – Passports, it’s poo – there I said it.

80kms of glorious single track and DH trails all linked by chair access and feed stations full of local cuisine – balls, it’s 80kms of fire road climbs, fire road descents, fire road descents, fire road descents, fire road descents, ooo a bit of single-track, oh it was 200m long, fire road descent, ooo a DH track, oh we’re going the other way… Down the fire road. God I’m bored, and tired, how long is left? 40k? Oh **** that, where’s the next lift, 5kms up the fire road. Oh a feed station! Seems all these little towns ‘enjoy’ the same cuisine – spuds in sun congealed mayo, garlic sausage in garlic sauce with extra garlic and melted lumps of chocolate all covered in flies – 3hours later oh this is a fun bit!!! Because we’re back in Morzine, this is the same trail we rode yesterday – are we doing the last 3km to finish? Are we balls, I’m going to the pub to get drunk enough that I never remember this again – not even 3 pints of Mutzig would free me of it.

Quite true P- Jay, the event was hyped to me by friends for years until I got to go. It just seemed endless french fire road descents into small villages.
I am sure that there is lots of really good stuff in the area, but the PPDS just seems to avoid it. 😕

We have the X1 1.8D Xdrive. Brilliant 4×4 system which was refined whilst BMW owned Land Rover (or so the dealer told us.)
We bought the XDrive as we live on a small estate up a hill, which when it snows generally leaves a trail of BMW,s at the bottom.
Never had a problem with our X1 in Snow/Ice. The biggest gripe is the Run Flat tyre system which can’t be repaired if you have a flat.

Ok, this is from Explorer Map OL5.
Start at Hartsop, head from the car park, up to Hayeswater.
The bridlepath turns left just before the reservoir and heads towards “the knott” ( at this point it is a definate hike a bike, also the path can be a bit hit and miss to follow)
You then join High Street, but you go left onto the bridlepath towards Loadpot Hill. Just before Loadpot Hill take the left bridlepath onto High Street. This is a great descent towards Barton Park. At the Bridlepath junction turn left towards Ullswater.
Follow this excellent descent to Howtown where you can stop for a butty and beer at the Hotel.
After that, follow the road, keeping the beck/ river on your right. After a few miles there is a bridleway on your left which follows Ullswater lake back to Patterdale. This is one of the best bridleways in the lakes, brilliant…
From Patterdale, follow the bridlepath back to Hartsop.

Yep. We have stayed in Hartsop a few times. If you head up towards the car park, follow the bridlepath you can get a really good 3 hr circular route which takes in some great bridlepathss I have an OS Map at home, I will give the details on here later. There is even a great pub stop along the way 😀

Have you looked at an Alfine Hub? Less maintainance than gears, but with more flexibility than SS.

Maybe a more structured pay rise would have been more appropriate. Your bog standard backbench MP could have recieved a pay rise of say 4% whereas the cabinet/opposition equivalent could have been given the larger rise.
I think the public wiuld have been more receptive to something along those lines.

I sold my Kinesis Decade Virsa recently after getting a BFe (longer travel). Amazing frame, ran it SS, alfine and finally as a 1×10. The paint job was very tough, and looked new when it was sold. The Mk1 s had some issues with cracking, but the later Mk2 were sorted.
    Great bikes.

Just a shame our police sit back at times of civil unrest and let the little darlings tire themselves out.

That didn’t happen during the UK riots. We were called from all over the UK to troubled areas. Due to cuts etc, we have barely enough to cover our own areas, nevermind trying to mobilise 50-60 moreto deal with civil unrest in other parts of the UK.

Hi Ton. Some interesting points raised here. I work in the emergency services, and one country that should be looked as is Northern Ireland, where cops have been routinely armed for many years. They still have to deal with drunken folk/anti social behaviour on a Saturday night. Firearms are not the solution. Also, the training logistics of EVERY cop having to spend time off the beat training would be impossible and very very costly.
I don’t think this will happen anytime soon.

It would be nice tho 😀

Kermit, I am a ‘degla local, and I have ridden most of the trail centres in the area (Coed y,Marin, Penmachno).

If you head out to Llandegla you could try him on the skills area, if he feels out of his depth then the blue may be better.
the Blue is a nice trail, just nice fast and flowy, so he won’t be too disappointed.
Saying that, the red has very few technical features, and these can be ridden around. towards the end of the red is where he may struggle, as there is are a fair few steep/sharp climbs.
