Yaris/Auris or civic. 1st two are dull but reliability is epic. If you value looks over reliability Audi A3 or BMW

As above, a demo and some guided rides would be a great idea. Get the best out of the bike. But it depends on how much time and effort you could give the idea?

Llandegla was my local trail centre. Never measured the black, but 21k sounds about right. You ride the red route and add sections of the black to your ride. Nothing is too gnarly and can be done at an easy pace. Add in the blue and a few brews at the café and you have a nice afternoon out.
For a full day might I suggest Nercwys Forest in the morning followed by ‘ degla in the afternoon with lunch at the café. Mold/Nercwys is about 15 minutes in the car to ‘degla

    Graianrhyd and Nercwys Forest

The guy is obviously a cockwomble. You can just refund the gimp £20 and put as experience or argue with him. Idiots have had years of experience as idiots. You can’t win an argument with an idiot. 😕

“Boutique/premium” bicycles are mostly just another Keeping up with the Joneses/wealth display thing now aren’t they

But define boutique? Boardman, On One ,Vitus? Or Townsend, Barracuda BSO’s??
Some folk are happy with a £100 bike, some with a £400 entry level Trek.
I think MTBers buy quality , quality costs. You can ride a £100 bike around any trail centre. Probably never again, but you could. We buy what we can afford.

Depends,Cotic Flare £1499, Santa Cruz Bronson £1600. You could buy an On One for a lot less but most folk are brand loyal and will want to spend extra. Those prices above are really reasonable IMO for a product that gets good design and testing. Whereas I wouldn’t spend money on an On One due to poor design and customer service. (Had 2 Cotics and 2 Santa Cruz)

GAP insurance is “normally” around £300 from a dealer. Shopping around on the internet can probably halve that. If the car is on finance, new or nearly new it is worthwhile. Mate wrote off a 12 month old mini cooper s a few weeks back. The insurance payout was short by £2500 which the gap insurance covered which in turn allowed him to settle his finance.

Out on the MTB yesterday, local bridleways were soggy and waterlogged. So cheeky road blast tomorrow pm. Sunday is Mother’s day so no chance of getting out 😀

I got a pair of 2fo’s from Evan’s ex-display stock, £40 brand new but nobody. Worth a look here for some flat shoes

Stabiliser, I am up in the lakes too, a bike mad mate of mine is selling 2 bikes. One is his winter Kinesis
    http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/kinesis-4s-full-bike-medium
He is also selling his “good” bike ( but he wants 2.5k for that one)
As mentioned above the Cube ticks a lot of your boxes. Cycleactive in Cockermouth had one in stock reduced. Maybe worth a call there.

I think we will be leasing our next car. Some of the PCP deposits are just nuts, plus you never see that cash again. I found this website quite good

Tried the melatonin but had no effect. 🙁
TBH i would prefer a natural solution
