Loads of routes in the area, the Clwydians have some real hidden gems around there.
I used to do an event called the Flintshire Challenge which pretty much took in most of the bridlepaths of the area.
Colin’s page at http://www.ttps://flattyres-mtb.co.uk covers most of the area (He’s a local lad, great rider and coach)

Doesn’t list a few manufacturers. My dad has a Morgan, so I’m guessing he’ll have to continue to use E5

Just been through all this. Had a few issues with my Audi 1.6 tdi, (my 3rd A3 and will probably be my last) so looked at changing. Looked for a VW Caddy Maxi Life…..hahahahaha…no chance, most second hand are ex mobility. Dealers have no stock within 200 miles. Looked at the Octavia estate but quite expensive and not much kit at the models I was looking at. Ended up buying a ………………………………………..
Kia Ceed Estate!! I know, dull as, but the left over warranty swung it for me over the Skoda. 5 yrs left out of the 7.

My good mate recently sold his mint 2008 TTID Convertible with 62500 on the clock, sold it for £5k
It was a perfect example, and if I had the cash I would have had it myself.

@ Hardupdad, there is a pump track in Fitz Park. Couple of hours there and an Ice Cream afterwards.

Vans. I was looking at trying to get a VW Caddy maxi Life. Not a chance. Local VW Commercial dealer said the prices have gone through the roof, and zero stock anywhere.
Funnily enough he could source me a new Electric VW Van, quite cheap to lease but only a 70 mile range…..Lol
Apparently there is a drought in Taiwan where a lot of the electrical stuff for the world is made, this, plus a Global Pandemic, Plus the Captain of a fairly substantial cargo ship has made a lot of stuff like rocking horse poop…#whodathunkit

I bought a G Shock watch direct from Amazon last year. The watch that arrived was clearly a fake G Shock. Its common for folk to swap legit stuff for fake, Amazon don’t check the returns.

Cheers all. Got an appointment to take the bikes down and see how it fairs. TBH I have an A3 with the same 1.6td engine thats in the Skoda and its been a bit of a problem child, so that’s putting me off the Skoda a bit. But others have no issues with the same engine, so its probably my car only.
Weve outgrown the Audi as long as the bike fits in the Kia it could be a winner.
I’m not keen on any other model Kia has to offer.

I do about 16-18 k per year, so diesel makes sense. probably keep the vehicle for 3-4 years.

its the top part of the South Red loop. Its basically a climb up, blast down. Its graded black only due to the rocky section at the very top.
The trails are really good, but the café is very very expensive. the bike shop is great with really helpful staff.
If i go I tend to park in Thornthwaite, through the village and follow the bridleway to the road. Climb up the road for a wee while and the blue route is on your left.
Afterwards head to Portinscale to the Chalet for a cuppa and cake.

Engine isn’t smoking but I have noticed it does a lot (about 1 per week) DPF re-gen. I do a 100 mile commute on A roads, so its not around town driving either.

I saw two cats working the other day. These cats were slightly different to UK Working cats.
They had a slight accent on their “meow”, I can only conclude they are foreign working cats over for the season. Basturds taking UK Working cats jobs…

Great stuff OP. You are only here once, if you can afford it then why not. Hope you enjoy it. I had a mate who had an elise as a track day car. It was his hobby and passion and he spent most weekends in Anglesey at the Ty Croes track.
If i could afford it I would buy something unusual but fun and just keep it. good for you!!

Things do go full circle. That saying, I loved my original RX9 (remember “The Thing” video?)
I guess nowadays gravel bikes have sorted geometry, decent brakes, good frames, bearings that last, strong wheels etc…so we aint doing too bad compared to 25 yrs ago.

Just a message via eBay, no case opened. Hasn’t replied to my offer anyway so we shall see if he gets in touch again.
    If it’s genuine I don’t mind helping.

Well I’ve told him to take the rear wheel to a bike shop but I have asked for the details of the shop so I can speak to them myself. If it is a genuine issue I may offer to pay towards a repair. If he’s trying it on he won’t bother. Or that’s my thinking anyway.
