    I’ve got one of these
    https://www.sunsetmtb.co.uk/shop/index.php?product_id=10868&category_id=10
often overlooked but a great hardtail. Medium in stock too. Mine replaced a Cotic Solaris max, and I have to say the orange is a blast to ride.

Marin is an old school XC route/trail centre. Bit more fire road than most.
Penmachno is a nice day out. Both are good.

Do you know what I think I can never quite remember the difference between JD, JJB and Sports Direct

It depends on the amount of underpants the “Customer” showns in each shop…..

Oil use depends, we usually get 2 full tanks per year, but have a Multi Fuel burner in the living room too.

Hi, we had an Bosch Worcester external fitted about 4 years ago. 10 yrs g/tee. We had a local firm fit for us.
Easy enough job for them, took 2 days with some extra external pipework. Its survived 4 years of wet, cold Cumbria Weather with no issues at all. its a big old beast, so we put some bamboo screening around it.
It wasn’t cheap (Nearly £8k for everything)

Have a look at the Sensa bikes at Merlin. They are absolute bargains, and get some decent kit on for not a lot of cash. (Deore Gearing etc) They get good write ups too considering the brand. Also look at Forme

    https://www.insurethebox.com/raising-awareness-of-the-fatal-four/

fatal 4- speeding, using mobile device, drink driving, no seatbelt.
All of the individual points above cause deaths on roads. Its fact.
If you speed and get caught accept the consequences. Simple.

Wow, cheers for all the advice. Thank you so much guys. I have managed to locate a Spesh Sirrus x 3.0 which looks ideal (also found a Cannondale bad Boy 3). I’ll get some mudguards. Lights are sorted off the MTB and I have a decent lock. Don’t need panniers, just be using a rucksack. Good showers in work too, so happy days. Maybe I can work off some of this lockdown belly too…..

I used to live on Anglesey until the Power station at Wylfa stopped generating elec. Cemaes is a lovely village but really has very little to offer, no cafe’ only a couple of pubs. I think the problem with North wales is the area hasn’t fully embraced tourism as much as say The Lake District.
Anglesey has very little employment for locals. The Aluminium plant has closed, as has the power station. Apart from RAF Valley and the Ferry Terminal there are no other large employers.
I sometimes feel (and as a local I can get away with this)…there are still some hangups about the area being “just for the Welsh”
I love the place, and its home. But there are times where I think they should invest more.
Oh, and I think Wednesdays is still a half day closing for some places too….and forget about Sundays.

Try the road outside the Derwent Hotel in Portinscale. If you can get towards the bridge where the road ends its free and should be ok for a day or two.
The road at the bottom of Lattrig would be worth a look, especially early doors. again, no restrictions.

The Alphard has some really good seat space in the back. you can fold the rears away to the side, so essentially you are left with a space enough for bikes or mattress.
No experience with the Bongo, but the stepwagon in similar. there are a couple of you tube vids which will give you an idea about the space
