Have you spoken to the guys at One Planet at Llandegla. They might be able to source you a frame and build?

Not sure what the lead time is on the Camino, but I know some folk have been waiting up to 12 months. I bought a Diverge elite, but changed a few things. Stuck an MTB cassette on the rear, riser drop bars and a 1 x on the front. Its an awesome bike to ride, the riser drops transformed the bike considerably.

I don’t think we will have energy scarcity. I think the Government’s have relied on Fossil Fuels for so long, the switch to renewables has just not been as swift as they should have been.
Take Nuclear – 4 years ago Wylfa Power station on Anglesey should have had a new build, but due to costs sod all has happened. Maybe now they can start to build new reactors on already functioning nuclear sites. Its just a matter of cost and a willingness from Government to pull their finger out and invest. The sites are there, the tech is available and the support infrastructure is already in place.

I bought some Thule Panniers after some recommendations on here. As folk have said, initially expensive but they seem to be holding up well with daily abuse. They are wipe clean too, so if they get a bit manky due to road grit/dirt they are easily cleaned/wiped down.
They hold loads of kit too.
Pump, tube, multitool. Laptop, clothes, towel, lunch…easy to fit and remove too.

    Cheers Spud, that’s appreciated buddy.
we have always considered ourselves lucky, the Mrs was covered by Furlough when the pandemic hit. So I guess all of that cash, plus the extra work the NHS had to do has got to be paid back somehow.
I’m not a tory supporter (i work in the emergency services FFS, we haven’t had a decent pay rise since Tony Blair!!)
But I can’t imagine the country would be in any better state under any other leadership.
I’ll continue to be raped by the taxman, and those at the top will be laughing at me, but in 12 months time if I can sit and enjoy a sunset with the Mrs somewhere in the lakes, I will be a happy bunny.

Cheers for the advice guys. I adjusted the B screw and it works except for largest gear front and biggest gear rear. All others work fine.
I was wondering if I went 1 x 10 up fron with a 40t would the set up work?

We had this, called a local Electrician who tracked it down to a damp socket downstairs.
He unplugged everything in the house, which still tripped the RCD.
The socket was on an external wall which was being effected by a leaking gutter. The rain was running down the external wall.
T’was a PITA to track down

I ordered a pair of shorts from Evans on Thursday. Arrived by Evri on Sat.
Evans sent me an email last night to say the shorts had been dispatched….
    Evri better than Evans?

I had to take my then 13 yr old daughter to see One Direction just before they split (Birmingham). I was surrounded by kids and their mums all waiting for Harry Styles and Co.
It was a gruesome experience I try to forget about. But farcebook reminds me every now and then, and the look on my daughters face seeing her then pop idols was well worth it.
Or so I keep telling myself.

Guns N Roses in the Manchester MEN, think it was the Chinese Democracy tour. Bullet For My Valentine were the support who were just amazing.
Once GNR could be arsed appearing on stage (2hrs late FFS) the crowd were so pissed off they just gave them grief.
The best GIG was Velvet Revolver, again in Manchester. Scott Weiland was epic, and several minutes of a slash solo just topped the whole thing off.
Shows how much of a D### Axel Rose was, and how he ruined GNR

After some advice on here I ended up with a rack and thule panniers. I always take a tube/pump/multitool. Last week saw 3 punctures after the local farmer did the hedges on the cycle path. I’ve since invested in some kevlar inners to sit between the tube and tyre.

Gravel bikes have been around since the start. They are not a new fad, even the current trend has been going on for the last 8 years (remember this video https://youtu.be/lf8DyAGWfZo ?)
They are just another type of bike that have been brought up to date with tweaks on geometry, better gears, hydro brakes etc…..similar to the sort of updates we went through in the 90’s with MTB
    Remember Coda Brakes anyone?????
So, the end point will be a continuation of improvements in drivetrain, tyres, wheels etc, but the basic principle will remain the same as what Geoff Apps was riding many many moons ago.

yes, I have one. a 2019 1.4 Turbo petrol. Nice Car, had it around 12 months.
Good Bits – looks nice, not too shabby performance wise, build quality is quite good. MPG for me is about 45, mixture of A roads/motorways. I’ve done 14k in those 12 months and not had any issues.
I can get a MTB in the back with the seats down.
Bad Bits – cabin is a bit “rattly”. there are known issues with the centre console which squeeks like a manic rat if you lean on it.
tyre noise – it is a bit noisy but nothing major.
I had the dealer fit a towbar, week away in North Wales for 3, bikes, kit etc was no issue.
Just been serviced at the main stealer (to keep up the 7 year warranty) This was £260.00 for an annual service.

    It was like f**king Gandalf

    Ah, the old wizards sleeve.

Ive happened upon a few walkers whilst riding the red at Whinlatter. Pointing out they are in fact on a bike route and that it is quite dangerous for both walker and biker.
The last pair just said “Oh yes, we know”….
Its utter buffoons like this that need culling.
the best interaction was a few years ago in the Alps. We had descended to Samoens and were climbing a road back up towards Morzine (can’t remember the name of the climb). Anyway after about 30 minutes of puffing and grinding oooer….we saw a vision of delight in front of us.
Two stark naked walkers heading down the same route. Mind you , it was a bit warm.. Both about 70yrs of age. After a cheerful “Afternoon” One of them just said “Oh, theres a cattle trough up ahead, its nice and cold….”
Needless to say, we continued on. Still parched.
