We are expecting baby no 1 anytime now eek! I have heard good things about the Lidl ones as well. Unfortunately trying to persuade my Mrs round to that way of thinking is a 'kin 'mare!

First step of fixie club, is that you don't talk about fixie club :P
I bought my pompino in fixed form for £499.9999999999 I do 30miles a day on it and I loves it as I am never gonna be poor replacing drivetrain parts.

The BNP plan to erradicate singlespeeders and that's a fact. They're all a bunch of wannabe heroes I heard ;)

I thought there would be a humongous weight difference when I switched from steel to carbon on my io and there………………………wasn't  the only + to it the more forgiving ride.

I meander about in my lycra and was quite shocked noone has taken the pee lol. I seem to be the only cyclist who showers in the morning?? Maybe they don't come as far as me though.

Monkeychild – as I can't be @rsed to go outside and check my Pomp…is yours a relatively new one? I

Yeah it is one of the newer ones with the union jack on one logo instead of the gimpy looking guy  I will just zip tie it up until I can go and buy a new screw.

Mine has that (stupid award of the day goes to me as I didn't think it was for mudguard mounting)I am concerned that the head of the bolt would rub on the tyre though, I am running 28s for commuting.

Oh and the thread should be entitled "Pompino what a jolly good frame shame it's missing one of the fitments"

    Fixed it for you :D

I like Planet Xs quirky way of doing business. It's nice to deal with cyclists with passion.

Anyone know the average cost per mile of running a 'normal' car – fuel, servicing, tax, etc?

    A lot more than a bike :D

IT's the fact it seems to run forever that I find irritating and that it eats so much into Ch4 and E4 programming. It is carp and I choose to avoid it like I would avoid fat folk when I have cake.

I was using a Berghaus freeflow for my commute until I went to a Carradice saddlebag (best move ever) I found the thing just didn't sit right for cycling. It pressed on my neck and restricted my ability to look over my shoulder to check for cars (v dangerous really) I wouldn't bother with it personally.

I will have a fettle later as i do think my seat is a smidge too far back anyway (still finding the optimum riding position (almost there lol)
I do think they are a brilliant idea though as the comfort of having nothing on my back is second to none. It was a bit odd at first when I got out the saddle to climb, as I forgot about the extra weight on the saddle and had a slight wobble incident

I like to think of myself as gravitationally challenged  Because I have rear guards on as well it's a bit of a 'mare. If the bags empty it's no bother, it's only an issue when I have stuff in it.

Well I have my carradice tour. It has made my commute a lot more comfortable and quicker too!! Only problem I have with it though is fitting and removing the thing as it's quite a tight squeeze.

I think Ron Hills are a great creation. Yes you look stupid but I am sorry some of the blokes I see in the latest "fashionable cycle gear" look bloody stupid too lol. They do exactly what they are meant to and i happy with that. I think some people have some major insecurity issues and need to live the function over form dream :P

I have got sealskinz but it's for the times I am caught out  I think ones with mesh for breathing will be ok and use an overshoe in winter.

The old style pipes from the intercooler are carp. My petrol Octavia vRS blew its off when I gave it some beans on the first day of owning it  VAG have a new modified pipe so it shouldn't happen again.

Can’t believe the price of asda shopping delivery – 4-5 quid per delivery, robbing sods, they’re a mile away. I’ll stick to spending 30 minutes wandering round a store rather than having to wait in for an hour.

Google around for free delivery codes that’s what I used to do :D

I find Aldis meat a lot better than Asdas, also the fruit and veg is far tastier. Their own brand baked beans, tomato sauce, pickle are wayyyy nicer than the leading brands imho. I am and Aldi convert lol, oh and their be light crisp are good an etc etc etc lol

I paid £35 at Hi Q and it was a top notch job. They got rid of the old stuff, pressure tested it and refilled with new. My climate control is ice ice baby cold.

Can’t quite get my missus round to the Lidl idea. Weird thing is we shop in Aldi?? I think it’s because our local Lidl looks like a jumble sale.

Skoda Octavia for it’s cavernous boot. I have a vRS hatchback and before I got my towbar and carrier I would carry 2 bikes a piece of wee wee in the boot.
