I got a Giro hex from crc and I use it on the road as well as off. The adjustable peak is great and it has enough airflow for my bonce.

Well the best they could do  Was get rid of £98 of the charges I still owe £70 8O I politely told them to stick their account up their arse, and that I was off up the road to Barclays to open an account. They can frig off if they think I am stopping with them. I will be following the bank charge case closely and getting ready to pounce when I can.

I commute 32miles a day and this be how I roll.
Mon – Drive in with Bike on the back of the car with a weeks worth of clothes.
Mon eve – Fri I cycle to work I use a caradice saddlebag to carry pants, socks, waterproof, lunch & tools. I take home my dirty washing in it too.
Fri aft – Drive back with bike on the back and take all my hangers and stuff to.
It's best to get into a routine and you will find you stick to it no probs. I feel loads better for cycling especially in the wallet dept with petrol prices the way they are!! I am fitter and my waist has shrunk from 34" jeans to 32" jeans.

I am desperate for new bars for my pompy as I currently have a Mary bar whixc will be great on my ss mtb but for commuting I am not 100% with it. I don't like full on drops either so it's either midgeesque or bullhorn for me. Why is it I can't get either type of bar :(

I have had 2 Octy vRSeseses since 2003. I was v stupid to sell the 1st one to have a short love affair with a MK2 MR2.
    I only had these probs:
1st one :Window wiper linkage seized (common vag prob)
:Central exhaust mount weld broke (common vag prob)
2nd one Turbo hose popped off by intercooler (common vag prob)just so happens the day I picked it up from the dealer

Not too bad me thinks, it's the most reliable car I have ever owned.

Personally I would go Octavia estate over the golf as you get more space and better value for money. I looked at MK4 Golfs before I got my Octavia and was not impressed with them personally.

The charge bars are standard MTB 25.4mm at the stem and 22.2mm for the grip.

I was thinking of keeping the LX levers ala charge plug style :D As I find that brakign position is right for me. I thinks I need to go and see what size my clamp is on my stem too, as I can't remember what clamp size it is for Mary bars doh!!

I don't know what it is I just don't feel that comfy on them. As far as brakes go I have LX cantis on my pompy so will they go on a bullhorn bar?

    monkeychild

I am not a massive fan of drop bars, plus I would have to shell out for new hood brake levers.

Thing that's laughable is the amount of cars with lights out on the roads these days. I loose count at how many cars are like cyclops in the night. As for those stupid xenon lights I am sick of being dazzled by them.

Coppers in pulling cyclist for being seen and wanting to see where they are going shocker! I really cannot get my head around some of plods antics. I totally lost my respect for them when I got put in the slammer after being arrested for naked on my stag do! My mates stripped me literally 5mins from our hotel and the coppers wouldnt let them give me my clothes back to$$ers.

I'm in the RAF, i've been in just over 12 years and love it!!! I work in comms and stuff  I am looking at going for my commission as I fancy going down a different path. I have never looked back or regretted joining up. I have met some quality folks and done some awesome things and been some great places.
