Daft question time! My bike came with 2×10 (Salsa El Mariachi), can I just 1×10 it out of the box, or do I have to use a shorter cage rear mech?? Yup I has no clue if it is short cage or not 😛

I’m a leftie and: play guitar, box, iron and use most stuff right handed. I can’t use my left hand for other stuff apart from writing its proper weird! I can use both my legs for football. Yup I’m an odd one.

If they perform any better than the Deore ones, you are on to a winner either way. The Deore M596 ones I have are ace!!!

Out of curiosity what ratio were singlespeeders running? Those singular guys flew past me.

I did feel personally the atmosphere was a bit meh. There were also some right miserable gits riding. I did have fun, especially my monkey hallucination.

Sorry it’s a case of first time ss on the 29er so not sure what ratio I am going to run 😀 I ran 32:17 on my 26 so it’s for trial and error.

Luther is a blimming great series.
    Dexter is immense.
    SOA gets very ridiculous.
Bates Motel is great in a kooky way.
Revolution I watched the first one and though it was pap.
    Walking dead is very good.
Breaking bad shouldn’t have made the latest series IMHO.
    Oh and the shield +100
    That’s my 2p

It’s a sport based arround riding for hours to get back to where you started. I don’t thing Strava makes it any more pointless!

It’s not pointless. It’s point to point! It just so happens in most cases that both points are in the same place 😛
Chasing KOMs on Straaaaaaaaaavvvvvvaaaa is a bit pointless though 😀 don’t get me wrong I think Strava is a great idea, it’s just a shame idiots spoil it.

It’s been around for a bit that there site. I really don’t understand why you would use it though??? Saying that I don’t really use Strava as I found that different devices give some right spurious result so it’s a bit pointless.

My new(er) bike has 2×10 and I think it’s amazing. GOing back to my triple on the Trance feels wrong IMHO. I did run 1×9 on my old bike but got fed up of dropping the chain 🙁

Yup not feeling the love for this 🙁 methinks the “race” is off for me and it will just be ride and chip off to my tent for bits. I don’t fancy leaving my lights, spares, gels etc loitering for anyone to help themselves to. I’m sure I remember talking to some poor sod that had some of his bits nicked from the solo tent last year. Sounds small, but if you’re hungry and tired it ain’t fun.

As Paulio I too rely on the trackside camping as I have no support. This should be interesting!

As a solo singlespeeder I am v curious as to how much this is going to differ. It looks ok and me thinks the tree laced singletrack will be “interesting” in the night. . Getting off and pushing for steep climbs is ways a winner though 😀

Word to the wise: anyone that uses the term “rock”,
non-ironically, most certainly does not “rock”.

I generally sway, but I do like to rock stuff. I’m very good at it.
