I got some of those vent ball things that Velcro under the laptop. They give a decent gap underneath so there’s a better airflow.

My £500 HP laptop is still going almost 6 years on. It’s been all over the shop and been banged about and stood on. The battery is dead after the humidity in Oman trashed it but I just use it plugged in. I would have another HP for sure.

I have the paper sub, but I like the idea of digital as its less clutter etc. think full size ipad 4 is the way forward then 🙂

How does for example the digital STW mag render on the mini? Is it readable or is it a zoom in and out ‘mare?

It’s the retina screen that’s what’s missing for me. I have it on my iphone and it is great, so not having it on an ipad would be a bit meh.

I’m currently hovering my finger over buying an 32GB ipad 4. I like the mini, but I love the retina display and think magazines, photos etc look better on the ipad.

Poor guys 🙁 that is another bit of sad news. Unfortunately there are too many idiots on the road. I was almost mtaken out last night by a bus cutting in front of me. I have never had an incident that close. Anyway enough of me, the driver is clearly at fault and should have the full force of the law thrown at him. If you can’t see cyclists on the road you are not fit to drive.

Do you lube your cable innners? Shift to the biggest ring on the rear, click through the gears as though you’re going to the smallest cog but don’t pedal. The cable should be nice and loose, pull the outer out the way and go mental with gt85 on the inner cable. I had a sticky cable a bit ago and this caused the same issue.

Next time don’t leave expensive bikes unlocked in public!

I think someone wanting your tube for nowt is an arse. They aren’t magic bits that appear in your kit. I buy a load in so I always have stock. I always carry 2 tubes (if both go your having a bad day!), if they can’t be bothered to sort their own admin out, sod them 😀

I usually have all my gubbins for leading in my rucksack, so I always look like I’m moving house 🙂
It’s good training having that on your back lol. However I am liking the liberation of saddlebag with a tube and bits and a water bottle these days.

Cool 🙂 (done eastnor and gatcombe mayhems) just Umming and ahhing whether to put the gears back on my el mariachi (singlespeed = less mechanical dramas) thinking of sticking a rigid fork on too. Are the jumps big? I.e would I cream a rigid on them lol or are they like the jump of doom. From what I’ve read it looks a fantastic event.

I’m around your height with 32″ legs. I ride a m Salsa El Mariachi. A small would have felt too cramped.

32 mile round trip 3 times a week and on Friday I may do a 70+ round trip

There’s no steroids being used. It was the bizarre stuff they were on about using before a workout. I did ask them why they used it and they got very precious about it, saying they needed it?? Ah well, each to their own and that. I am still none the wiser as to why the hell you would take something that gives you heart palpataions, sweats, etc.

My brother in law is big and ripped, he does a lot of cardio (football, swimming, running) as well as lifting heavy. He just takes protein and eats cleanly. This is why I get confused by it all lol.

I bet they skip leg day too.

Funny you should say that….. THey also ignore cardio too. I get protein shakes, as I take them myself when the need arises. It’s all the bonkers pre workout stuff they are going on about that I don’t get.
