My mate and his brother have holiday lets in Bulgaria. The brother has his in one of the ski resorts, which I should imagine would be fun out of season. The upshot from my mate is that Bulgaria is the dogs dangly bits.

    I use:

Tesco Granola tray bake (it’s jolly nice), boil in the bag food (military rat pack style), salted nuts, Pringles, High 4:1 in my bottles. It works for me 😀

I have the tcx SLR 2 and it is.ace but I.had to use some zip ties for the rear guard. The Boardman cx bikes are bloody.good.too.

Agreed. It’s laughably inaccurate. Especially comparing a phone with a Garmin.

And this is why I don’t get too excited about Strava. I use it now, as it’s easier than the Garmin Connect tool.

Mine was a rather good condition 2010 model. I had got rid of the awful FSA crank and tektro brakes and flexy Giant wheels 😀 I sold it for £300.

I know quite a few “victims” of marketing who wouldn’t dream of riding a Boardman etc.. I have Focus road bike and it’s been flawless, I know own a Boardman 29er and for sheer value and ride quality, nothing touches it price wise. But that’s me, I am not a marketing man’s dream 😀

The Scott windstopper one from start cycles is good.

I just sold a small Defy 3 (it was a bargain) and it had a carbon fork. They are ace bikes.

I run 700x38c twin rails on 29er rims on my cx bike. They roll really well and handle rough stuff pretty well too.

The diversions are annoying but it’s one of those things. I personally ride straight up the fire road and just do upper and lower cliff.

I was eyeing up some of the KTM XC weapons at this weekends MTB-Marathon. I have to say they looked rather nice.

I used to but couldn’t be arsed with the upkeep. I trim with clippers every now and again.

I like Chris, he just seems down to earth and looks like enjoys his riding (doesn’t take it too seriously).

Well I picked it up today. Swapped my wheels over and set it up. I am most impressed with a ride about the estate test ride. It accelerates really well, the handling is snappy and there’s no toe overlap at all. It feels really light when you are riding it too. Just need to read up on setting up the Reba.

The Bonty course is a lot more interesting than the Mayhem one. There’s only one “dull” climb IMHO and that’s the 1st one.

Just take him, he’s 4 FFS. I took my 4 year old out for the day to goto Thomas land. He didn’t melt and I don’t think his education suffered lol.

I’d forgotten they handed out free ice lollies from the ice cream van parked halfway up the first climb! That was ace!

That was only on the 1st lap 🙁 (well for me soloing it was the 1st lap)

    I’m going 😀

I preferred it to Mayhem, the atmosphere is better as is the course. However, I’m not sure I’d travel all that way for 12 hours of racing(that’s me personally). The torch bearer is a commendable effort as your body and mind will be doing funky things due to being out of sync.

Look for a small bloke in Raf kit huffing and puffing on a 29er (done bugger all training this year) that will be me 😀

That Orange is way overpriced and a lump IMHO.
I had the same dilemma and bought the Giant TCX, however the Boardman CX bikes are great for the cash. Also there are the Pinnacles etc….

If you.can wait for their next ‘10% off all our bikes’ weekend you can stack that with the British Cycling Discount for 19% off.

You can’t stack the codes anymore 🙁

Takisawa, that’s reassuring to hear 🙂

I think my days of having a slight bit of snobbery towards them, are gone.

Went to Halfords today to look at it.

I have to say it’s a nice bike visually and. They are getting a 16″ in for me to try and the guy I spoke to certainly knew his stuff (just shows not all Halfords are the same).

If it feels right (looks right on paper), I may purchase it.

Well if anyone knows of a steel 29er frame with ordinary bb, vertical dropouts and 2 sets of bottle bosses please let me know! As far as I can tell it doesn’t exist. It did (Niner MCR) but that gained an eccentric bb

    The El Mar has these.
