I use a mixture of roads and cycle paths “now” as they are suitable for my needs. When I lived in Lincs the laughable one at the side of the A607 on the way to Waddington was in disrepair and too narrow for a shared path, so I rode on the road.

The only issue I have with 2 of the wider cycle paths by me is that they come down a hill and it’s easy to get up speed (on the road you’re doing 35mph with little effort) and even though it is very wide and has a distinct separator down it, you get folk bimbling on the cycle part (usually with about 8000 dogs on those extender leads). I know there’s nothing to stop them, however this is why most serious cyclists won’t use cycle paths as pedestrian dodging at speed isn’t fun.

One of the Sustrans paths near me is in a great location, but the path is a battered farm track so isn’t suitable for road bikes so roadies won’t use it.

Also don’t the govt recommend you being on the road if you’re doing 17-18mph+

Right that’s enough from me 😀

Tempered glass screen protector is your friend. As it’s waterproof you can apply it under a running tap so there’s no dust. My Z1 compact is almost a year old and has been dropped, soaked and mistreated and is still ok.

My mum believes in homeopathy. I can deal with folk having their own beliefs etc.. Its hard to bite my tongue when she goes on about it. I think its a load of old bollocks.

A couple of months ago, there were 2 cars doing this at the roundabout off the M54 junction by RAF Cosford. I am overly cautious with my braking distance as it is.

As I put ^ I am using a swan and its fine. The SLX 2 doesn’t come with the clips for guards like the SLX 1 for some reason??? It comes with a different seatbolt clamp so you can fit a guard.

My eldest was 4 at the time (last year) he really liked Disney’s The Black Cauldron. This was great until he started shouting at the top of his voice “Mummy, Daddy, I want to watch the black children!!!!”

I am running a Purg up front with a captain on the rear on my 29er HT since Bounty 24/12, I haven’t died yet. Before that it was Purg/Purg I like them.

I haz the same bike. Full front guard on the front (I run 32C) the rear you can get a bit “creative” using zip ties (I did this and it worked) or use a Zefal Swan on the rear (what I use now).

Hmmmm, may reconsider for this year. Get your wellies ready if I do, as I am a rain jinx; my first (and only) Kielder 100 was the epic deluge of 2011.

I enjoyed 2012 in a sick way. It was my first ever one and did it single speed solo. I was using mud sharks and all was good(ish). Hated 2013 (single speed again),just got fed up of having a sponsored push.

iAgggggghhhhhh!!!! I am an arse!!! It’s my boo boo as I put the wrong amount in my employment tax paid. I’d put a lower amount by accident (yes I am a knob!!!) It’s my 1st time at this. TBH, I had forgot all about it and realised in Jan “doh, I’ve not registered” that’s why it’s late, as I am a worker not a business man 😉

    What is an accidental landlord?

    moo on

I didn’t expect to be one!! Its our family home, due to moving for work we are in rented accommodation on the other side of the country (expected to move back).

My outgoings far exceeded my incomings (grrr)
