it died a death…. i enjoyed it but they cant really make another series.

    V is ok, watchable….

prison break was a piss take how long that went on for, series 3 + was a total joke.

    ah well

get a cordless power screwdriver (or borrow a tidy 'proper' heavy duty one)

use proper decking screws (green tanalised ones- or whatever the word is)

lay the first board a then space them out using screws so you leave a gap for when it expands.

make sure the level drops off away from the house etc, so when it rains it runs away from he house/wall.

i put put decking in our garden 2 years ago, the hardest part was making the frame underneath, the actually screwing the boards in is the easy/fun bit.

use a good branded wood STAIN rather than pikey wilkos decking paint

if i can do it, ANYONE can!

    good luck

lived in various places during a year long trip in 2003.

loved the place, i can agree with many points made above, the people that go out to NZ/OZ and expect miracles always crack me up, do you research and at least go out there for a long holiday to suss it out.

I may be still looking back with rose tinted spec but it was an amazing place, much more laid back than the U.K.

When i landed in Auckland I thought i'd landed in the wrong country, very multi cultural.

anywhere you go in the world its going to be a wake up, work, come home etc, etc. the wages are not as good as the UK/OZ, nearly all the places i worked in most of the staff were saving up to get over to OZ (but that was manual labour jobs as i didnt get into IT over there)

you do feel you are a million miles away form the UK though and it can feel a little isolated, but maybe because i wasnt really settled there

our plan is to retire there and set up a hostel (you have to have your dreams)

the best way id sum the weather up compared to the uk is, the summers are hotter and the winters more severe.

    good luck

"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE YOU STUPID F*CKING WELSH B*ASTARD!!!?" (Or words to that effect)

many years ago i worked for a large financial firm and landed a silly IT job and i was in WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY over my head…

along with the 50 year old p*sshead IT manager we looked after 100+ users…

one day i was bored and was farting about in the comms room, to cut a long story short the Exchange (email server) sh*t itself due to my 'fiddling'….

fast forward to 100 people screaming becuase they couldnt get their emails, 72 hours laters, tears, sweat and more shouting, myself and the called in cavalry (outside IT company) had the server back up.

that was 9 years ago and I still have the nightmares, it was the total fear and realisation of the predicament i was in and what was going to happen.

    putting totally dull hat on…

    when you say

    gable end

do you mean the side of the house up to the apex?

we have a semi and the side of the house is exposed to a carpark and rendered all the way up and its on a slope we need to get it painted and i reckon it would cost a fortune as it would need scaffolding?

these guys are good, watch the video

    vroooom

got a few mates who have had it done, save a bit on fuel and the powerformance is noticeable.

as above engines as standard are set very conservtive, aslong as you service the car regular its fine (from what ive seen) but these are people who are obsessive over their cars.

everything that happened on the ISLAND happened

the ATL (alternative timeline) didnt exist as we know it, there was no time frame.

when they died at certain points they all ended up there, only when jack died they made their way to the church and connected. that was the bit many people couldnt get their head around, it was quite clever. the last scene with jack walking through the jungle then dying was epic

still think it was a bit of a cop out though, mind you that was the only way they could keep the majority happy i guess.

as has the rest of humanity that originally got excited about this utter load of carp.

each to their own, IMO one of the best shows on TV in years as it wasn't spoon fed to you like other crap, you had to think for yourself and it caused much discussion, it was original.

The polar bear was on Danielle's ship that wrecked wasn't it?

i thought you meant when they found polar bear bones in tunisia (ben turning donkey wheel ended up in desert in tunisia aswell)

aaaaaaaaahh i get you know, the polar bears running round the island, dharma had them as test subjects and one escaped (as above)

its the same as loads of other series as well, like prison break, first 2 were quality then they mess about with the story line to much

they really did f*ck prison break up didnt they, that was a total farce series 3

the polar bear (i think) was used as a test subject via the donkey wheel (how mad would that sound to somebody who has never seen lost LOL) hence ending up in the desert.

Clio – power to weight innit, simple!

a friend had a Clio sport F1 (better suspension setup and brakes than standard one), and it was a mental car, stuck to the road like glue.

the ED30 is nice, nice as in safer bet.

i think you'd have more of a laugh in the Clio

Why oh why do stupid people start such pointless threads asking questions which they don't seriously expect to get a meaningful answer to, when there's nothing they could do about it if they did get an answer anyway ?
Honestly, it makes you wonder what sort of idiot would reply to them.

Get off yer fekin soapbox -Its a CHAT forum , there's the clue!

the neighbour has obviously been p*ssed off for a long time and the previous owners had given him the finger when asked about the tree… so he's thought "mmmm somebody new is moving in i'll cut it down before they notice"

i'd do nothing other than make it obvious you know it was him and mess with his head the entire time you live there!

also plant a blossom, every spring it will cover his end of the garden, just make sure you trim it level with the fence as it grows, the wind will take care of the rest!

The thing is what does this woman get out of it, i mean she is bascially taking the p*ss basically out of two sane (they were before this event) people.

She must have bumped into other neighbours or met people that know the lads – he was totally freaked out by the cash in the wallet, i said its total coincidence, if it had been £30 you would have gone "my go i only need to find a tenner now" etc and yes the gun license is up soon but again 'just' coincidence.

imo its a load of bollox really, yes the blu-ray films do look a bit better but its not MY GOD THAT IS AMAAAAZING!

its when you play games, xbox/ps3 you notice a massive difference with HD 1080

but HD makes no difference when I've taken my PS3 up there at Christmas

you cant have it set up right, HD 1080 on my PS3 is worlds apart from normal set-up.

the brother in-law has sky HD and finds it hard to justify to be honest, yes it does look better but its not mind blowing, only really notice the difference on sports and discovery stuff.

you won't be close enough to see the difference between HD and normal

    Very true

i flew to LA with Air NZ a couple of months ago, 13hrs I think. the onward flight had a break of about 2 hours in LAX transit lounge before another 12-13hr flight.

this was the cheapest way to do it when i did back in 2003, you also dont get jet lag andi think you could take more luggage

all that could have changed though, its a brutal trip but worth it as theres less faffing

i flew with Quantas, flew back with AIR NZ and the seats were terrible.

my god i knew i shouldnt have come in here…

baby due in 3-4 weeks now and the mother in law over the last 9 months has changed….

she was chilled out but soon as she knew her daughter was pregnant she has gone into overdrive!

    'nesting instict' jaysus!!

the inlaws came over and helped me decorate (just the living room)… yes im not the best but telling me what to do in my own house, take 3 hours to paint a fekin skirting board, oh while were here lets rip the coving down and re do it, oh now lets do the stairs and lanindg, oh that baby room needs another 2 coats repeat to fade…

im just worried she is going to get even worse when the baby arrives, what makes it worse is she retired last week aswell so she will have **** all to do all day, i have nightmare visions of coming home after a hard day and she is there with a duster 'tutting' at me as i walk in.

then on the flip side as mentioned above, she will be providing in essence FREE child care so i guess i should button it for a while.

it is very hard though, the amount of times i have agreed for the sake of it then argued with the wife when she has gone.

i can see now why the father in law plays golf every day…

    best of luck.

and yes… les dawson was right!

    cheers all,

    Get Sky+

    check

    black-out blinds

    check

Unless labels are important to you, don't bother with all these designer baby brands for clothing. Tesco/asda/sainsburys clothing is just as good and sometimes better than clothing we've had from Mamas & Papas/Mothercare etc. That and when you see some clothing get worn 2-3 times before it's too small.

i agree 100% some of our mates babies are covered in GAP and other expensive brands, each to their own but it will be ASDA all the way with us, except for the odd special occasion

mate have warned me about the first 2 weeks when you get home, the door bell will not stop and people will just turn up, just grit your teeth i guess.

my wife is going to try breast feeding but is not going to loose the plot if she can't.

we have not read any books to be honest and have gone the 'ignorance is bliss' approach pretty much all of the way. i did start to read some stuff on the internet but my mind started to wander and worry about silly stuff so i stopped.

might check out the private room facility aswell, were going through the birth plan with the midwife tomorrow, whatever that is…

    🙂

ps- whats the best type of steriliser to get??

the 'hospital' bag ingredients are being bought tonight

*must remember gift for the wife for the actual big day* (they don't allow flowers in our hospital any other ideas, she did want a 'proper camera')

i keep having this nagging feeling the little him or her is going to pop anytime soon….

i havent done much riding this year so that bit is not going to effect me really.

ive only booked 2 weeks paternity off, everyone was telling em to book another two weeks and have a month but i'd rather save the 2 weeks until later

cheers all….. keep em coming, i'll put them onto my clipboard and show the mother in law!!

for his unique style it has to be Ross Noble not everyones cup of tea though, seen him many times and he can be hot and cold but if you catch him on a good night he is genius.

i saw him in the dublin olympia many years ago and he just went off on one, didnt use his material for that night and just went off on a 2 hour ramble and rant.

he really doesnt have a set routine like 90% of comedians, if you saw him on his tv show when he was touring oz it was a prime example of him just turning up (with sometimes minutes to spare before the show starts) and doing his thing and ranting about what he had seen that day so every show was a bit different. not many comedians can do that.
