how the hell do you run amiga games on a windows xp laptop?

last time i tried it was a nightmare? couldnt get any games??

i was a drayman (beer delivery) throughout school holidays and when i was in uni, ball breaking work with some of the maddest nutters ive ever met. you would not believe how dirty some pubs cellars were, im taking trays of sarnies put on top of kegs ready for a party later that day BUT the floor was a foot deep in manky water and dog sh*T!

worst job ever was in new zealand on a year trip, ended up working for P&O cold storage in christchurch, all day every day from 6am till 5pm we had to wear freezer suits and load 40ft containers with 25kg boxes of lamb!! ive never felt so knackered in my entire life, built me up though!

i lived in NZ for a year back in 2003, spent a good few weeks/months in a campervan. then towards the end of the trip we bought a cheap car and stayed in hostels/b&b’s

to be honest, the capervan was cramped, cold and it stank after 3 days and its a pain in the arse clearing up then having to put the beds down etc etc – and was a dog to drive.

the cheap car and hostel/b&b combo worked much better.

just my 5p worth.

when we finish off a big loan we are going to go for this, we have done some research.

there are many pro’s and con’s….

i know we would use it lots throughout the year and we would rent out to friends and make some cash back.

the big downside we saw (as said above) are the ‘age’ clauses… yes you could end up with a cheap 4-5 year old one but then when its 10 years old you have to get rid.

another big downside is they get cold, very cold unless you pay silly money for ones proper heating

again as above, there are waiting lists, the other option is the touring caravan ‘left’ at a site.

bloke in work has one and he is off every other weekend and loves it

halfords have a massive sale on at the mo, there was a £75 one in there yesterday with european maps. have no idea of model

this series was below par, had the odd good moment and great final episode section but the wrecking those houses was a load of bollox.

we had a similar situation in work…. few of the idiots kept winding up one of the welders, lovely chap one of the ones that kept himself to himself and works like a dog…. stereotypical gental giant..

one day it all came to a head when they put a load of rocol in his welding helmet, he grabbed one of the guys slammed him down on a table picked him up and held him against the wall and screamed into his face for about 30 seconds, the guy literally p*ssed himself on the spot.

the welder walked out and had about 2 weeks off the poor sod.

its bullying and nothing more, the idiots think its not because its not in the playground.

trouble is even though our place has about 50 people in total theres no HR department so things tend to boil.

im dreading it already (another proud Welshman here) prior to every game i build my hopes but deep down i know its going to end in tears again.

the cycle will start again, not making it out of the group gatland getting his marching orders and head straight home to NZ….

you never know though 😉

great country to drive in, just dont hold up the traffic staring at the amazing views like we did in our campervan, got pulled over by a copper!

and as above watch out for the turning right at junctions, can take getting used too.

we have used owaya for years and the quality is top notch, not the cheapest but you get what you pay for.

just remembered i had mine done about 6 months ago, got it back home and had a gander, opened the bonnet and looked ‘at a belt’ and thought THATS NOT BEEN CHANGED!!!!…

took it back to the garage the next day stormed in all guns blazing, the guy looked at me funny, walked me to the car got me to open the bonnet and said show me the cambelt… i pointed to it and he said..

“thats the auxillary belt not the cambelt”

he then pulled my old cambelt out of a bag and gave it to me…

i left pretty quickly

i would advise not to do it DIY, out of most of the car DIY things i’d attempt i’d give it a miss, if you get it wrong you could seriously mess your car up.

ive changed the oil and pads on the fiesta but ive looked into doing the cambelt and thought sod it.

you have to know what your doing, you need to set the tensioners and pulleys up properly etc etc (excuse my crap car jargon) + maybe take alot of other stuff OFF to get at it properly!

im sure the serious car buffs on here will be along shorlty and tell you its easy…. 😉

but thats my 5p worth!
