Landing in new zealand on my birthday in 2003, i’d been meaning to go travelling for about 6 years on the trot but things kept getting in the way..

it got so bad everyone nicknamed me ‘copout’!

the sheer excitment mixed with the what the f*ck have a i done was immense.

Wales EASILY have the hardest group by a country mile, this might go in our favour mind having played 2 very hard games and another two to come.

as dallaglio said “wales will be battle hardened for the quarters”

(fingers crossed Fiji don’t **** us the ass again!)

Item one – A twin pushchair travel system with seats and carry cots
Item two – a Group 0 car seat and very heavy EasyFix Isofix base

aaahhh flogging all the unwanted baby gear… did this a while back and had millions of stupid fekin questions so i know what you mean!!…

we had a bloody nightmare with a quinny pram aswell, we described it as used, in good working order, it was sold but then they didnt want it so a claim was put in… (first time ebayer)

    be careful!

spent a year in NZ and toured all over the place, ‘generally’ the south island has better bits IMO.

The best bit i found was right in the very south of the south island, from Invercargill head out EAST and you hit an area called Catlins all along that road its amazing.

i stayed in a hostel, cant for the life of me remember the name but it was a house right on the coast and there were seals that came right up tp the house back door ‘literally’ hardly anyone i met had been here.

beware with milford sound, its a sod to get to from queenstwon (a full day there and back) unless you stay in Te Anau (spl?)but there **** all there.

the sounds are ok but i was all ‘scenery’d’ out by that time and it was just another WOOOOHOOOOO.

franz joseph glacier i thought was ok nothing special.

i agree 100% aswell with this..

Swim with dolphins in Akaroa, not Kaikoura. There’s lots of outfits offering trips, but find the guy who has a dinghy for about 8 people. He knows his stuff and wont go round chasing them, rather lets them come to you. It was an amazing experience when I went with them.

wanaka is nice but its a bit boring/quieter than queenstown is way livlier but again it depends what you want.

hire a car and use the local AA b&b guide book, i did a campervan aswell but the car was much better IMO.

NO, in my own opinion it is the biggest loads of bollox ever made up.

if you believe there is a bloke in a white robe sat behind a cloud you need to go and see somebody.

    as stated above…

it’s a way people have of explaining things they don’t understand,

you cant argue with somebody who is a believer, check out dawkins interview with the arch bishop.

BUT that is just my opinion, if people believe in god and it makes them a better person and happy who am i to argue.

i worked as the IT geek in Dublin for a big financial firm, i remember messing about by the dealing desk and a big newsflash came over the reuters newsdesk i was told to run into the boardroom and set the big TV up ….

the next hour myself and about 30 people were just glued to the screen…. one of the dealing desk guys said he knew a few lads who work in goldman sachs and hope they get out ok, this will sound made up but as he finsihed his sentence the helicopter camera zoomed in and the tower started to fall… the feeling in that room was terrible and people started to leave…..

    fekin gutted!

bloody english ref…. even my 15 month old daughter cheered when hooks disallowed conversion went over 😉

in all seriousness that was better than i hoped for, SA looked so rattled at one point i was amazing… also many young lads in th eteam which is bloody great!

as gatland said “wales have been knocking on the door for ages”

just that last bit of concentration and tiny percentage is needed to finish it off.

    grand slam next year!

dont talk to me about babies and cars….

i shouldnt admit this as it was a complete T*WAT school boy error. only excuse is that it was the wifes car and im not used to fancy remote locking from the keyfob,

anyway… went shopping at local supermarket, pushing baby (15month old) back to car, pulled the car keys out, put them in my mouth to lift her out of trolley into car seat ( you can see where its going) as i lift her out she grabs the keys. (wife is filling boot with shopping)i buckle her into the car seat and shut the door at the exact same time wife shuts the boot…….. baby grins at me… then i hear the worst sound i have ever heard in my life… the contral locking being engaged!!!

the wife just looks at me and tears start to well up in her eyes, fear ive never felt before starts to rise in my gut. the baby still laughing, giggling to herself still holding the keys… wife storms off to call RAC crying… i just stare into the car tyring to coax her to press the butotn on the keys.. what seems like an hour the fear still building…. somehow she manages to click the butotn and i open the door…

i was seconds away from ‘somehow’ smashing the window.

leason learnt! (must get a second spare key aswell!)

my heart sank last night the wife said there was an advert on ITV saying they have the ‘exclusive rights’…. the commentary is sh*te on ITV.

surely BBC are showing some of the games? aswell

searched a bit but didnt come up with much 🙁

if it has gone pear shaped, trust me you will have your money back.

we had a fekin nightamre when we sold a pram last year, good nick, but the buyer (first time ebaye) just didnt want it…

they put a claim in, after aboue a month and them putting a claim in they took the money back from us to pay the buyer back.

i chatted to ebayer support and they said in 99.9% of cases the buyer always wins in claims.

were on a very thin line virtually hand to mouth each week with very little left over after bills, food and fuel, we have debt (not including mortgage) which will take about another 3 years to pay off.

i will if all things work out have a very big inheritance, but i block this out and will never rely on it.

i do worry about the future especially with a 14 month old, no pension.

but i know alot more people far worse off than me.

ours is 15 months and we had a huge battle with her few weeks back…

    Let ’em cry

    Be strong, it’s not easy

Don’t give in, it does work ime

in the end we were dead against the evil that is ‘controlled crying’… but in the end we just left her cry and cry… once it was 1 hr 18mins… but she eventually fell asleep.

now she goes through from 7pm till 6.30am if were lucky.

another good tip have you tried water not milk..?

we have never and never will (i can hope) bring her in the bed with us, mates have done it in the past and one of theres is now 6 and is still going mental trying to get in the bed with them…

it is hard, you have to work out whats best for you. as i said we were totally against letting her cry, but in the end we were both so knackered we just fell asleep… its all about routine and hitting it home (easier said than done!!)

i’ll probably have all the hippies on in a minute slagging me off for letting her cry but it hasnt effected her.

    good luck your not alone!

    PMSL…

    started teething yet?

    another world of hell!!
