@jambalaya Hunt as in Rough Shoot.

Grew up in SA shooting Jackals on the farm which make foxes look like cuddly toys. When we came back to the UK went out with friends on the local hunt and found it to be completely ineffective against pest control (which foxes are) and was just an equine sport for socialites, wannabe aristocrats and numpty young farmers. Coming from a proper hunting background it was a bit of a culture shock!

Foxes are a nuisance and need culling but saying that fox hunting on horseback is effective is bollocks. Times have changed and I know many landowner who will happily shoot foxes all day long but wont let a hunt anywhere near their farm or estate.
Will say again there will be a backlash from inside the Tory voting block if she goes ahead with this.

Tory supporter and hunt regularly but despise fox hunting and the whole ethos around it.
Many people I know who are Tory supporting country dwellers will be turned off by this and is a complete gaff if she tries to push this through.

Depends on your tastes and what you are looking for but the French house in York is excellent. Also have a shop in London that they can ship stuff up from.

Word of caution but doing the wrong exercises can cause more issues than you started with I would of thought.
In the past after suffering serious injuries on shoulder and back I was told that doing core work was out of the question until I had built up specific strength in targeted muscles as the wrong excercise could cause a imbalance and do more damage.

Personally I would get a second opinion from a different PT as I would be a bit skeptical if one told me they were at a loss.

Skinners Duck and rice. £22 for 15kg delivered and is a lot better than most of the cheap rubbish you can buy in the supermarkets.

They rely on people not claiming back the cashback as it is so long winded.

Phone EE up and say you can get this price from a reseller and often they will match it and saves you the hassle of redemption.

13 weeks? Best age to train a dog from especially a Doberman?

Big problem in the peak district at the moment with a few lambs being reportedly killed recently.

Only yesterday I was running up kinder and watched a spaniel trying to round up some ewes while the two owners blew on a whistle and flapped their arms around with absolutely no effect. Apparently the dog has a 100% recall normally after speaking to them!

My dogs are trained to the nth degree regarding sheep and wont go near them but I would always put them on a lead in a farmers field I don’t know or on moorland where there are sheep.

Sign up to park run and get a barcode (free). The barcode then gives you 10% off on all running goods at intersport.
Only thing i would say is match the trainer to where you will be running i.e. trail or road.

What have you all just had for lunch and just how did it get to your plate?

    Totally different.
Killing for food has a purpose while killing for the sake of it doesnt. Big difference in my book.

Friends in the past have had trouble with SLR hut. Faulty product on arrival and had a nightmare getting it back to them.
Can second hdew but have also recently had good service from e-infin after recommendations. Big ebay store but cheaper through their website.

Don’t even think about using a shock collar to control this.
The dog is in an anxious state as it has become territorial over the home. If you shock the dog it could associate territorial infringement with pain and its attitude turns from barking as a warning to aggression.

Seen it happen with a docile boerbull which had to be put down as the owner ballsed up the shock collar training and the dog tried to rip the limbs off anything or anybody if they approached the property.

If you have a working breed the best thing to do is train bark to command. Sounds counteractive but training the dog to bark means you can tell it to stop and you will have a lot more control which can help with barking long term. (some dogs trained to do this will still bark in the house but only once just to let you know).

Other breeds such as some terriers can be almost impossible to stop and you just have to stop them getting too worked up.

Personally wouldn’t go anywhere near the A515 as its bad enough driving it. Day trippers and quarry trucks don’t make a great combination.
Would look at going cross country from Longnor as there is some beautiful riding through there and you can wind your way down to Ashbourne.

One thing that I would start concentrating now on is ankle strength and flexibility as unless you have been doing a lot of hiking your ankles will be brittle and will more than likely hamper your training once you start running off road!

Use your local Euronics if you have one. Dubious when I walked into the local one near me but picked up a Siemens washing machine 15% cheaper than John Lewis, fitted it the same day and did all the warranty paperwork for us.
Use them all the time as they price match the big boys and the local install service you cant beat.

Only ended up going the local route as had been messed around by John Lewis with delivery schedules and availability.

Genuinely interested JHJ in what do you think would have happened in places like Sierra Leone without military intervention from the UN and more importantly the British and how would they have been resolved?

Sadly retired after that but now kicking myself after reading that article.

If you haven’t walked Kinder then either of the above routes are good with an alternative to walk up Grindsbrook clough from Hayfield then back down jacobs ladder.
Another alternative from Hayfield is this one which is flagged all the way up to Kinder from the A624.

    http://lonewalker.net/walkinfo.php?walk=94

Only thing I would change is to cross the A624 and go straight up to burnt hill instead of wandering down the road and up to Harry Hut. Can also come down from Kinder by Sandy Hey or the downfall instead of william clough if you have time.

If you do start from Hayfield just be aware that the Sportsman pub is closed for a couple of weeks so you will have to go into the village if you want to eat.

Are you fell running or going uphill a lot? My feet got a battering when I first started as running uphill put more emphasis on the toes. Took a month or two to get stronger and concentrating to relax the feet!

Always had two plus dogs in the house and as above keep each other company and become inseparable etc. Big thing to look out for you though is breed and space!

Dobes are brilliant dogs but if yours is male I wouldn’t get another male as they can be same sex aggressive in territorial environments.
Also two big dogs together when young are like a tornado as they will play for hours and the attention will disappear from the family. Nothing wrong with it as it stimulates intelligent dogs like Dobermans but having the space is a bonus!

StefMcdef – Have seen quite a few rescue working dogs coming in from central and eastern Europe such as GSP’s, Viz etc.

If looking at a HPR breed just be aware that the prey drive will be through the roof due to there upbringing (European training methods can be quite full on!!) and have seen people get into difficulties with them if they have little experience of trained working dogs. The charities are normally pretty good at helping you though.

Will watch it but more for the sadistic side of me wanting to see Bellew get knocked out. Will be even more joyous if it happens in the 1st round.

If Pacquiao comes in fit Khan doesn’t stand a chance. Class stays with you especially in the boxing game. Rumor has it Pacquiao already knocked him out cold in sparring when they were both under Roach.

Khan just seems to lose his head and as quick as his offense is the defense is just not there. This sparring video kind of highlights that! Only benefit of the fight is if its in the middle East then at least it will be on at a decent hour.

Quarry bank near Manchester airport. Good outdoor space as well.

Not sure if Lyme park in Disley still offer conference facilities but worth a look.
