I emailed Troutie twice – didnt recieve a one reply.
So I guessing he not doing the upgrade anymore? Or he just too important & busy to reply??

You need to remember he isn’t ‘chainReaction” with staff waiting to answer every enquiry within time limits.

I think there is a free 1:25000 leisure map to download on the garmin site.

Roads are quiet and pretty safe.

Wild camping is a bit limited over here,(Isle of Man obviously) if you want Garmin .GPX
routes to follow i could prob sort them out for you pointing out camp sites on route.

Some or the coastal route is a bit hairy in places and wouldn’t suggest you take your lads on them but the road alternative is never far away to avoid.

Do you have a .gpx of your route?

    Looks amazing BTW

premium is just under 15 quid that allows you do download a certain amount of maps. It does all start to add up though when you subscribe to online maps for plotting.

    Edit to add:

Had a few issues setting it up and sent an email to support and got a reply out of hours within half an hour.

Its a great app Just wasn’t suitable for full day rides for me.

yeah i did all that HNR but i found i was constantly babysitting the battery.Bare in mind i was riding solo in unknown areas with only large scale backup paper maps. I found myself in a situation where i had 20% battery life showing 15 mile from start point. dead battery = dead lifeline = no navigation.

For short rides with a backup phone or indeed a phone that you can swap batteries view ranger is brilliant.

I asked the same question a few weeks ago and was pointed to the view ranger app,

I down loaded the app, bought the 1:25K maps of the lakes and a holder for the bike, Using an iPhone 4.

This allowed me to load in routes for me to follow when in areas I’m unfamiliar with and opened up a whole new world for me.

All great stuff, BUT using an iPhone 4 on a ride over 4 hours the battery was ready to die and with no means od changing the battery i was snookered.

Bit the bullet and bought a Garmin 800 trail bundle i the end. must say though i found view ranger better to use.

cheers for the heads up muggomagic on view ranger.
I got myself a good case and have been trailing it at home here and seems to work a treat. Need to mention customer support as its second to none, had a few niggly questions and both have been answered out of hours in under 10 minutes. unbelievable really.

Anyway got myself a 1;25000map of the lakes and downloaded a few routes to follow, can’t wait to use it in anger.

Parts in the hand are worth twice the price as parts at home i guess

you can cheat a Riello burner also to continuously run by removing the 20v white wire that comes from the motor, later RDB Riello burners you cheat the same as they have a removable photo-cell.

    note 🙂

Mollyiom – wrong – Riello burners will not lift oil, most burners fitted with a Danfoss oil pump will however.

That aside, 500l should be plenty to run a boiler, bleed oil line, reconnect and off you go, in theory. But make sure to get a steady stream of oil before reconnecting. Also make sure it is oil and not water as if you have run a steel tank very low you could have dragged some water and muck through.

bear, you are wrong, it may not be recommended but it will lift oil, but im not wanting a who can piss the highest comp here, if you know about oil burners, like ‘know’ you know it will lift the oil.

    Know what i mean? 🙂

Oh and wheely good the answer to your question as to why they dont make something to bleed these things, they do, its called a tigerloop

unless you boiler is a vaporising burner you plumber is talking shite, ANY pressure jet burner will LIFT oil 10foot at least, you either have muck in the oil line or your plumber just doesnt know what he is doing. i suspect the latter. 🙂

On a 26″ rim?? do you wear a skirt? “

No should I, would it improve my mountain biking by airing my knackers, might it not chafe a bit?

I think the lowest gear on my Alfine set up would be higher than the lowest gear on my stock Giant Trance (19.9″ against 16.8″) presumably you’ll let Giant know the error of their ways?

I believe you may be, as my father would say, a jennet.

I bet you sit down to wee also. chill out ffs
