I found this all the way down on page 3. Surely this hasn't grown old yet???

I made my first trip there this weekend with a mate ('Endo' off here). Got there on Fri before the worst of the snow but the car park was already closed. Trails were nice and quiet though – shame MBR and The Beast were shut in parts.

I bought a 2010 Fox RP23 shock from activesport.co.uk in the last fortnight. I got it for a good price and had good communications with them. I'd use them again.

She's lovely I think, despite that 😯 photo. And proper talented. The first photo is very 80s soft p*rn. Made me start humming 'Rio' by Duran Duran to myself. "Her name is Rio and she dances in the sand…".

There are trails all over the place there. The guys at Freewheel occasionally go there for their Wednesday night rides so it's worth tagging along to find out the good loops. The 'Badger Run' is a (very) short but exciting bit of single track if you can find it.

Don't go on your own at night though! The locals can be less than friendly.

mogsuncle, that trek looks very fasy and light

Doesn't it?! I think it's due mostly to the wheels – I've sold those now as they were giving people the wrong idea!

Just e-mailed you the gpx file for a 40 mile Dark Peak loop that was in What Mountain Bike Issue 37. I've not done it yet myself but it was described as difficult and was about 40 odd miles.

So if you do your commute 2.5 times per day you will be immortal and have to change your surname to MacLeod?

That kind of makes sense. When I was commuting by bike I certainly noticed some "quickening"…

    I'll get me coat.

My Nicolai Helius CC. Bought off here second hand last year and recently returned from Nicolai in Germany where it was refurbished including a powdercoat in Fire Department Red.

I think it looks great, although I admit I spent a month or two thinking about yellow (or white or silver or…) instead. Easily the hardest bike-related decision I've made!

My LBS are building me a wheelset and then I'll put it all together sometime next month.
