Have you ever taken a drunken whiz in your back garden? There might be DNA!

Semen would be my worry. If you have ever slipped out into the garden (one moon-lit night) for a danger-w*** then I would say you are in deep trouble. A CSI humvee is likely to pull up any moment.

RSV Mille engine was a Rotax built unit which tend to be reliable

The engine was (most rotax stuff is good, if uninspiring), i think it was mostly all the ancillaries that were the problem, slave cylinder, anything that had an electrical current passing through it. I think a lot of it came down to the owners, they just had to be kept on top of (soldering skills like you say are ideal!).

Wasn’t the end of availability of the Rotax twin partly the reason that Aprilia developed the V4?

I believe it just ran it’s course and they wanted to develop their own engine, and indeed one that could be competitive in superbikes.

Fly tipping garden waste is a very poor idea. For peat sake.

You maybe never bothered reading the original post, but the Aprilia’s going

Its history coursework all over again, scanned and missed all the key points!

Mechanically as sound as they come

As a rule of thumb (working in the industry) Aprilia as typically the poorest built of the large manufacturers, sounds like you got lucky!

Have to say last time on a camp site I didn’t appreciate people in the next door tent bringing a small baby that definitely did not sleep through the night

….not as bad a 25 stone northern bloke in the tent next door snoring all night!! (south of france last year).

Thanks for the advice, I suppose with a bit of common sense we should be fine in a couple of months or so (1.5 months now). Great tip with the steriliser bags too, not come across them yet.

Fortunately we have a massive tent, so we can use the other bed room as a changing station and somewhere to park the 4 metric tonnes of paraphernalia that babies need to be surrounded by!

I think the ratings refer to long-term use (think tyre speed ratings), I don’t think you will encounter any real problems.

That said it probably not a great idea to give it full throttle all the time, but you should be fine.

Aprilia – I would stear well clear of anything they produce.

Triumph 955 – Could do a lot worse, but unlikely to be outstanding in any area.

ZX-9/ZZR100/ZXR750 – ZXR and ZX-9 are getting old now, and likely to feel it. ZZR1100 is a great bike, but its all sausage and no sizzle.

I would seriously consider a Honda Blackbird. Unrivaled build quality, incredible performance if you want it, a pussycat when you don’t. They are comfortable, haven’t really aged and now are temptingly cheap. VFR is also great, as would be a blade, but I would go for a blackbird.

I think it would be a good living if you were seriously desperate for cash, the risks are probably fairly small.

I guess you have to be fil and healthy, I.e. a homeless person couldn’t score a quick grand?

Mark – You are a genius, I definitely owe you a few pints (British camp our halfway mark now?). Specifically around £75 worth.

Than Cammer, turns out I can only redeem one (greedyness!). Thankyou anyway.

I have done it singe handedly, its a bit of a long drive (south of france is longer mind you). Not a problem to do it in one go, lots of fun I serious recommend it. With regards to getting the vehicle back if it breaks, invest in european breakdown cover they will either fix the vehicle or recover it to the UK.

    Check out Richard Misters Photography

I can recommend him personally, very professional and his work is outstanding without a take the *** price. He is not based in the north, but works nationally.

Are you entitled to drive one in the UK with your license? (must have passed test after 1997). It will need the C1 entitlement.

My understanding is that the rules were changed in the uk (i.e this entitlement was not given to you by default after this date) to bring it in line with EU riles, therefor if you have their entitlement here then you have it there.

As for your motives, it is for hire or reward so don't worry about he paid work aspect, its simply a private matter, no commercial (i.e. no tacho etc etc).

Tricky. I would say it is Clee judging byt he presence of snow (Abberley doesn't have any). You wouldn't be able to make out the clock tower even if it were Abberley imo.

Or do I just get the RP23 PUSHED???

Depends if you want to go "big" or not. I have mine pushed, ann it is an improvement over standard, but not a substitute for a coil imo.

This was an upton type. I normally have problems with the agents, not the tenants. Letting it to a trust that houses young people who have been in care as of next week, promises to a be a trouble free let, not….

I would recommend yellow fever too for "chucksbry", also advise you get your ear pierced and grow a mustache to fit it. Also may be worth setting your watch back 30 years once you arrive……..

A tenant for not paying rent, damage, not paying me for a sofa, loosing the key and generally being a scoundrel. Thats what you get for renting to people that are from places that flood easily!

I was a bit ignorant of this stage in the system (they usually pay up before this stage). The County Court actually appoint a bailiff on your behalf after they issue the warrant of execution, not a bad service really!

Thats what we thought, although it was actually a suspected brain hemorrhage. Postmortem showed nothing however, hence autopsy. Very sudden and very very sad, as you say not old and no health problems. No been back since (only been back 5 days). Will feel guilty if i go to the nags though!

Yes I did, was on honeymoon at the time, but got an email. Very sad, have they done an autopsy yet?

Went up tonight, fairly tricky and snowy, not to mention cold.

On the roads there isn't too much to worry about so long as you don't use the very small lanes (such as by stoner). Fine also near Wyche.

Thanks guys, all sounds quite familiar. Mind you a common thing is with them, they are not as slow, as thirsty or as noisy as people imagine. I grew up with them so I think I may be used to it!

I had an L200 a few years ago and to be honest it was slower than a TD5, as thirsty, no more comfortable and it had the added two-toned problem that I looked like an absolute **** in it!

I will let you know what happens in the new year :-)
