The axles are advertised as XTR in the heading so most people would make the assumption that the weight loss is in respect of those pedals.

Can't comment on both both i owned a set of Durins until 8 months ago, they were superb and i've tried quite a few forks. I had no problem getting them serviced at a LBS go to the Magura website and they do have a network now of LBS that service the forks.. I would still have them now but i prefered my Scott spark with 120mm travel as prefer a more relaxed head angle

Also i was told by a well known racer that for stiffness the Durins had been lab tested with the new Sids and the Durins were way ahead….

That was very hard work soloing, strangely found it harder than last year…

By the way the cock of a photographer sticking the camera almost in your face somewhere i think just before the double shocker, who was he, should be banned…..

Tandem have you tried other brakes as i had 3 different sets set up by a proper bike mechanic who knows them inside out and can set up them far better than you. They lack the power of many other brakes out there – enough said…

If all the Mini lovers above had tried Formula brakes their comments would not be in favour 😀

Avid 3s are more powerful than Hope Minis as i had both at the same time. If you are a heavy user on the brakes they are not for you

I owned a 575 before i changed it for a Spicy. The 575 definately was a more efficient climber. My Yeti was a comparable build (160mm up front) and weight to my Spicy but going downhill its the Spicy all the way.

IMO medication is only suitable for short term depression but the unlucky souls who live with it installed in their minds have to find another way to control it… Some take to counselling but others do not find this helpful and you being supportive and understanding as a friend may possibly help more but every case is different

Have had the same problem with Advantage tyres flow rim combo you will need a rim strip and more than likely compressed air… High rollers and minions seat no worries

In the 80s there was yes high unemployment but there were plenty of jobs on offer. Just saying that through my own experience and others that i know who lost their jobs in the 80s. Personally i think the 80s affected only parts of the country whereas todays affects us all where ever we reside… Its definitely not overstated 🙄

Seems a strange remark about Bovey when all the other A & Z celebs told Jodie what they thought of him… Hmmm you watching a different episode?

There are plenty that have failed and i as usual have one / had one. After 6 weeks it been supposedly sent back to Taiwan. Mine developed play resulting in the saddle moving side to side – something that according to the design of the post can’t happen. Would rather have my money back….

I just had physio for an injury very similar but mine was bike related and that sounds like the main tendon that runs down from the knee, it was just inflamed and settled down reasonably quickly after some ultrasound.. Any good physio should be able to identify and cure the problem in 1 session..

I have had problems with Maxxis exception tyres running tubeless and splitting sidewalls and now would only run one on the front. The rear i now always run a heavier more robust version and still keep a light tyre on the front…

IMO you should try a Lapierre Spicy if spending that sort of wedge….

TJ – again your comments make me laugh as a co owner of an international business the remark we are have the the most lapse laws in Europe to sack employees are no doubt from your experience of spending too much time on google. In real life it is very hard to dismiss an employee and most companies have to seek expensive legal advice to do so or send in a heavy 😀

Yes countries like Germany changed with the times as problems happened – they saw the issues and paid companies compensation to keep workers in employment on shorter working weeks and hours rather than letting them lose their jobs completely resulting in the government paying them for not working all together and losing out on employees taxation and NI and paying them for not actually working.. Something our Jurassic bosses should have realised….

TJ – you are waffling please talk in plain english –

Windwave are helpful i agree but :

if a shop IE (Merlin) sells a product with a warranty then they (Merlin) are responsible for handing the warranty claim… End of

As above … They (merlin) are responsible for any warranty issues even though they try to say otherwise… Trading Standards are more than happy to confirm this fact

Sorry to hear that your friend suffered such bad injuries

TJ remarks are rather odd, have’nt read them all as he just keeps spouting on a load of twaddle he has read on the internet and based on reports some 10 – 15 years old. As TJ has not had a major full head impact at speed wearing a helmet he has absolutely no right to even air his opinion on the matter. I have at around 25 miles at hour head first almost straight on, then my shoulder into hard flinty ground… Head survived helmet didnt, collarbone didnt… TJ do yourself a big favour and get off here and comment only when you have experienced it….

I think you need to look at the the political ideology of the current Government and look at how close it matches the previous Governments, then you will understand what voters they were aiming at and why the economic ideology of a “light regulatory touch” was not changed and carried over from the Thatcher/Major period.

Forget ideology the fact is they have had long enough to change regulations – get in the real world not the ideological one ….

Forget blaming other parties for this countrys crisis they have been in power far long enough to correct previously incorrect regulations and coupled with the banks greed they have created today….. You cant pin any blame on Maggie and she had bigger balls than Gordon 😀

Been using Stans rims nows for over 2 years but the Flows for just over 1 but i have purchased 2 sets in this time. Both came with rim strips as they warned me that the tyres might burp as i use only Non UST tyres to make the wheelset lighter. Think i will try one on the front and see what happens…

Is the I950 a newer updated lighter version ? My I900 is also being looked at under warranty….

Due to the rear horst link the rear brake does track the suspension i think…. ❓ Also forgot to add the 08 RP23 shock i had to have retuned to the higher setting ( now same as the 09 models) as it blew through its travel too easy.

Brings a big smile to my face every time i ride it no matter what the trail. Yes its overkill for most of them but who cares 😀 Its such a well balanced bike IMO and if your lacking skill as moi it will flatter you….

I know its had a lot of reviews in the mags but i would disagree with the fact that the forks fine at 160mm when climbing, as i have had had to lower them on my 916 when ascending steeper slopes as the front loses traction..

Swampthing but they drag horrendously, Maxxis minion DHF front and rear is a good compromise…..

Now 41 – Gave up the drugs, losing quite large sums of money gambling, stopped binge drinking. Now no drugs, no gambling now drinking alcohol on a more structured regular basis ie every night( apart from when im night riding) and cocking up every relationship with the fairer sex… Cycling keeps me sane but can not seem to curb my drinking…. hic… My old friends i have known for 20 years plus still mostly persist in that high from the narcs… Why most of them happily married with kids ???

Hora – your comments give me food for thought, perhaps we are looking for something or someone that does not really exist….

Live on the downs and have ridden it all. If using Racing Ralphs i would go for the double defense option on the rear as the flints here have shred both my last evo versions….

Remember when you reach devils Dyke your are 2/3 there but the hardest and longest climbs are still to come..

Is Hit the North a 12 hour race so if so doing a 12 hour solo is far different from a pair doing 12 hours. Your mental strength has to be far stronger for solo trust me… but good luck and take the advice in above.

Good advice i was given to race:

Wear 2 pairs of padded shorts
Get into the thought pattern of breaking the race say into 3 hour segments.
Spray back with deep heat prior to race
    Go slower than you think…

Grumm – forgot to add i had that but then tightened up the red collar (only by hand) and was told to loctite it 🙄
