I’ve had mine for 3 months, ridden it a couple of times a week in some pretty grim conditions.I bought it to dip my toes into the world of fat bikes while I freshened up my full suspension bike over winter -when they were on sale for £499 .
I’ve always liked the look of fat bikes but didn’t want to spend a fortune on one in case I never got on with them. Northwind and co on the cheap fat bike thread made it impossible to resist the dune for that money!
Anyway,I really like riding it,I started collecting parts for it straight away, new bars and stem,1×10 parts new mech etc but I haven’t actually felt the need to change anything yet!Still got the standard mechanical disks and Kenda juggernaut tyres(ghetto tubeless), nothing has broken or fell off, bearings still smooth etc.I had a few problems with chain suck when it was new but that seems to have cured itself.
So far it’s been the cheapest but most fun mountain bike I have bought!(I expect it to fall apart immediately now I have written this).
Sorry I can’t help with your hub size, etc questions,I shall be keeping an eye on this thread though for when the time comes!

Mine were like that for about a week,my mate advised me to just keep pumping them up to pressure and keep riding it and it will eventually seal,i took his advice and it’s been perfect for the last 6 weeks or so.

Looks like a bargain if a medium fits you,id have it if it was a large.

Some great information on this thread as always, cheers for that, ive had my dune for almost two months now and have used it quite a lot in some horrible conditions. So far it is still in its standard form except for going tubeless ,for which I also owe thanks to you chaps here.
Nothing has broken or worn out yet,ive had the chain suck problem a few times which resulted in bending a few teeth on the sprocket and pulling chunks of paint from the frame
    but otherwise it’s been perfect.
I am slowly building up a collection of new parts ,just bought shorter stem, grips, wider bars,30 tooth nw,and quick release seat clamp from the planet x sale, will be going 1×10 when I’ve got rear mech, shifter, chain and cassette, also keeping my eyes out for a set of brakes ,I hope to switch everything over at the same time.Glad to hear the bb can be swapped for a shimano bb70,like the above posts,i am totally confused by all the talk of different standards, sizes, chain lines,q widths? etc ,I will keep the original cranks until the bb is shot and then replace with bb70 and race face aeffect or ?,are there any other cranks that work with the bb70?I have also seen the race face ride for about £90 which includes a bottom bracket, does anyone know if this would be a simple swap, and if they are any good? Thanks.

Can’t say I understand all the hate for planetx . I ve used them a few times now and have got some really decent stuff for a very good price.Bought some bits this week in the sale, very cheap, nice quality, arrived the next day.Whats not to like?

    A-easy?
    B-worth it?
Oh, and what tubes did you use,20″ or 24″?

Did about 22 miles on mine today which is a big ride by my standards, mainly off piste at Cannock.Loved it,the steering still feels strange when on hard, smooth surfaces, but I intend to stay away from them as much as possible ,and will use it for more natural stuff.I love the way it rolls over the big stones and roots and the grip on loose surfaces is great. No problems with it at all, very pleased with it.One thing I would say though,i am 5’10 and got the large and I still ended up with the seat post at max so be aware ,I was going to get the medium originally which would have been way too small I feel.

Well I couldn’t resist, picked up a large this afternoon and put it together myself,i was impressed by the niceness of the frame and paint finish.Only had a ride around the estate on it so far ,gears work well, brakes ok,theyll do for now, steering feels weird.I put 8psi in both tyres, will take it over the chase tomorrow. Thanks for the advice.

So then, most people seem to be quite pleased with their dunes,i am about to pull the trigger on one but as I am monumentally tight when it comes to parting with money I want to be 100%!
Does anyone regret buying one?I would be using it mainly around Cannock chase through the winter while I replace all the worn out bits on my anthem which I will then use through the dryer months next year.Does that seem like a good plan?

Thinking of picking one of these up for the winter,i am 5’10 and I’m considering getting the large as my medium anthem feels a bit cramped,do you think that would be right?

I like windows,I’ve had a Lumia 920 for almost 3 years and it’s still as fast/reliable as the day I bought it.The tablet will be for my 10 year old though and I don’t think you can get all the games and fun kids stuff with windows like you get on ios /android can you?

Pretty standard stuff here but still a good bike,i am considering adding a dropper and 120mm forks but i may just wait and add a trance or specialized camber evo or similar to the stable later in the year.Love the sx though.

My nexus is just about unusable now too, tried all the online advice but it constantly freezes and crashes still.
Think i might try a hudl 2 or would it be worth the extra to buy an iPad,ive never owned anything apple before???
A little off topic but my 2 year old lumia 920 windows phone still runs as smooth as silk despite being full of music, photos and videos, shame they don’t seem to be catching on.

Another happy Nokia lumia user here, got the 8.1 update on my 920 that makes it at least as good as android/iOS .Much easier to use than android and a 520 can be picked up for about £70!

I have a moto g which is very good overall but the camera is only good for stills in my opinion. My wife has a nexus 4 and the motog is just as good for apps, browsing etc and I think the moto g has a better screen. The low light photos taken on the n4 are awful!
If a good camera is a priority consider a Nokia lumia 920,there are some very good deals around on them and wp8 is nice,it just lacks a few apps and games.Wp 8.1 is just around the corner which sounds very promising.

Does anybody know how much this bike weighs?Would it be too much bike for Cannock and similar?
