Just got back from the Alps and had a Skoda fabia, my bike bag laid in the back but I don’t think you’d get two on top of each other due to height.

Previously had a vauxhall mokka/equivalent and they could stand up side by side in that, had 3 people, 2 bike bags, 23kg case and 3 back packs in with no issues.

What I do is book something with free cancellation and then check nearer the time, normally can get some last minute deals

Stayed in an air BnB that had one, was easy to use and had a variety of uses.

I didn’t consider buying one though, they are also quite big.

When people mention range anxiety, I really do wonder how far you want to ride? Or do you want to just blitz everything in turbo?

I own (it’s for sale as it’s too big for me) a kenevo SL and I’ve done 25 miles and 3000ft of climbing, I used just over 50% battery (no range extender) in 2hrs 40.

I now own a levo SL 1.2, and the range isn’t as good as the older 1.1, but it still does me fine.

If you want to only own a single bike the lower weight bikes make sense, they ride/handle/jump closer to an normal bike. They can (god forbid) be easily loaded onto uplift trailers and they aren’t hard to load into vehicles.

I think when it comes to ebikes, you just pick a motor/battery/ brand and then preach to everyone that’s the best option 😂

My partner is on 02 sim only and always has crap coverage, £5 a month – 10gb.

I’m on ee, I contacted them when I wanted to leave and they did me a sim only deal, I always have coverage, £9 a month – 60gb.

When away if I can’t charge mine (non removable battery) I just drive to big services and charge it there. You do get some funny looks

I was there the other day and set off with out looking at the signage, big mistake.

I rode from the bike shop at the visitor centre to the wall, then back.

I then did blue scar and added in the big dipper descent.

You could do the wall via the link from whites level? What I would’ve done had I of done any research before going out.

Octopus offering a fix at the April price cap decrease with £0 exit fee. Can’t go wrong with that

Yallah, good discount on subscriptions, let you order early/skip with ease. Also have a good loyalty points scheme where you can get those snazzy storage containers that suck air out

In my experience, Zebs are your answer due to longer axle to crown.

170mm lyrik on 29 to 180mm zeb on 27.5, hasn’t killed me yet

Thanks will go for the swiss hire. Should’ve added it’s for summer

I remember previously turning up and being told we couldn’t take the car into France, almost 10 years ago so I’ve always hired from the french side, until this year where the price difference is near to half a week’s lift passes.

Many of the smaller bike parks rely on volunteers to build and maintain trails, that isn’t uncommon.

So after some back and forth with Evans, apparently it’s actually PayPal who I need to speak too regarding my payment being “authorisation in progress”. And evans can’t refund me, so it a case of ringing PayPal now?

After 10 days I messaged Evans to ask where my order was. They’ve now decided they don’t have stock and will issue a refund in 5-7 days. Slightly annoying

Anyone seen any free rider pros in 10.5? Ordered off Evans on the 21st of Jan, and it’s still processing!

To save me starting another thread about sram codes.

Any recommendations for pads? (Wiggle have none)

Purchased a used set of code Ultimates off another forum for £90 with a cut hose so needed a rebleed, test rode them today and they’ve got guide pads in 😂

I pop mine on a quick 30’c wash cycle every few months, I always remove the visor though and so far so good!

Minus the crap seapost insertion I like mine.

If I ride mine off it does feel like it’s in reverse though, so either my brakes are rubbing, it’s bollocked already or I’m just really weak.

Mine weights 19kg and I can do double the riding in half the time I used too and feel more tired, win win

Its not really a great deal (having bought one previously for £50) considering the usual suspects have better models for not much more on eBay, such as ones with different speed settings.

On the flip side, mine takes an absolute pounding and is on its 3rd year in regular use

Gutted I missed these, been after a set of the older lyriks as they still go to 170mm for a build.

I paid the same earlier this week for a set of new select+ off ebay

I always wonder how it’s killing the mpg and how long it would take to pay for a hotel for the night in savings if removed.

I always notice people commuting with them on the roof, I guess they aren’t easy to remove

I’ve seen status’s £2k new in a few shops recently. So in theory they should be very cheap second hand

Thanks, will have a look into Bourg St Maurice as we’ve done Chamonix a few times.

Trying to avoid morzine as there last summer and booked for next summer.

Anyone ever fly into Lyon instead of Geneva? Flights and car hire seem much cheaper

Looking for a recommendation of somewhere to stay in France, normally we just get transfers and stay in a resort.

However this time, one of the group wants to stay out of resort and try visit a few resorts by driving. Any suggestions?

I was on the verge of ordering but when I enquired about what would happen if I needed a repair doing I was just linked to an FAQ page, I guess if I finally commit to buying an e bike it would have to be from a shop for piece of mind.

I use the hydroshot with an adapter and DeWalt batteries, hasn’t killed it yet but I don’t leave the battery on the pressure washer when not in use just to be safe.

My hydroshot makes some pretty awful noises (did this before using DeWalt batteries) but it hasn’t given up yet, I’d definitely get another though!

From memory it was between £50 & £70 per brake. Mine felt like new, had both done at sperate times. One was returned with in 48hours the other took just over a week. Mine were both serviced due to sticking pistons.

They come back rebled with new pads, so if you have internal routing it may be worth getting a local shop to rebuild them instead to save bleeding them twice.

    Just to save me making another thread I’ve got a few questions about flying with bikes;

What do you with your helmet? Will easy jet let me take it on as carry on

Do you pack as much as you can into thebike bag?

Are things like Allen keys allowed in the bike bag?

First time flying with a bike if you couldn’t tell!
