Thirded. Nice people who can spec the bike for road/offroad/touring.
Only thing you could knock them is that they don’t look cool – mostly because they’re not weighed down with pointless tassels, suspension, discs etc.
The only time I’ve crashed at Glentress was a different experience. I pulled off the trail to get my breath back, sort the bike out and tidy up a small cut on my leg. After 3/4 minutes I moved further away from the trail as nearly every rider was stopping to see if I was ok and to make sympathetic “ooo” noises over my leg.
Just to mention that if you are a daily heavy drinker that it can be quite dangerous to stop drinking suddenly. Alcohol withdrawal symptoms range from the unpleasant; feeling rubbish, sweats, mild tremour all the way upto err seizures/dying.
If you do experience withdrawal symptoms then it’s sensible to cut back quantities/strength before stopping alltogether or if you have a history of unpleasant withdrawals arranging a detox through GP.
Cheers. I might give them a go. I usually wear Ronhill tracksters on cooler days so the “looking gay” thing won’t damage further my fashion credentials.
Disc brakes would be a welcome addition to my touring tandom; it’s a nightmare to stop on steep/wet descents with a lot of luggage on the back (no not you dear – panniers I mean)
