Got started on this one this evening! “It’s not a toy, it’s a Christmas decoration”.

I recently got my daughter (4) one of Go Outdoors’ Wild Bikes and it’s fantastic, she’s knocked out a couple of 13 mile rides on the Trans Pennine trial with no dramas at all. Think it cost me around £185 so well worth seeing if your local store has any in.

I’ve found some nice riding out on the island of Vis, on the Komiza side but it’s probably a bit far out with the three hour ferry.

Another island I’ve ridden on is Dugi Otok further north near Zadar, there was some good stuff but only had a few days there so didn’t explore enough to be able to recommend a trip there especially.

If you ever happen to end up Split anyway on the off chance, some fantastic fun can be had in Marjan a short ride from the Riva.

Do not touch Three with a barge pole.

They restrict you to 3G and stuff like YouTube, Spotify and Apple Music are throttled to the point that they’re useless. Oh and you can’t tether.

I switched to Vodafone, proper 4G just like at home. Got a decent 12GB SIM only which I’ve hammered abroad with tethering to the MacBook.

Silver cross Surf 2.

We got the whole lot off eBay only around 5 months old for about £550 – considering new it was a grand or so it was a bargain.

The travel system with the isofix base is brilliant. But the best bit is the pram chassis itself, has an air shock so its super smooth, brilliant off road as well as on road – no air tyres to go pop and handles brilliantly.

If you can snag a not too old used one in fine fettle then you’ll be onto a winner.

…just realised the Surf 3 is out so you may be able to find some bargains in Surf 2s.

I’ve got a Roku 3 and it’s spot on.

Use Plex to stream anything from your computer to it, its a great media library to boot.

No issues with a KMC X10-93 with my Raceface Narrow/Wide and Zee rear mech. Only dropped the chain maybe 3 times since September.

18st and 6ft2, got Mavic EN321’s on Hope Pro 2 hubs on the HT, only snapped a couple of spokes over time, and the full-susser 29er has Mavic Crossrides, not an issue, been through all sorts of rough rocky descents and not an issue.

I did the Isle of Man End 2 End in 5 hours last year, I’m going in for a few more races this year – I want to try and get my weight down to 16 and a half stone myself, about right for my build.

Sometimes if I’ve been riding the 26er for a while, then jump on my 29er it feels iffy, for about 10 minutes. Sometimes.

Got a 7.9 in August, in large. I’m 6ft2, I’ve absolutely battered the thing and it’s taken everything and not had an issue (asides from me breaking rear mechs but thats my shit lines) – it’s done the Isle of Man End 2 End too, it was perfect.

All I’ve changed are the brakes for SLX as Avids are junk, put a 65mm stem on – didn’t get on well with the longer stem and put a Thomson Elite on, although I think the bike needs a dropper!

Get one, they’re absolutely top value.

Three seriously. I was on O2 for years and the coverage was garbage and data was awful. On three I find myself with fully working 3G in the middle of nowhere… That and the 3G speeds are nuts.

Local 15 minute blast in the morning to make room for Turkey and ale 😀

Rear mech caught on a rock in the Lakes, took out an XT rear mech, destroyed the cassette, chain and snapped some spokes, I think it was around £120’ish, single speed botch to get me back to the car where the cassette literally split in half. Still, not as bad as a lot of those other numbers above!

Not sure how the jockey wheel got up there like that, stuck solid!
