funny, but not funny when they are your neighbours 24/7 and they threaten your wife!

I know this is in jest but it preys on your mind and affects the way you use your house.

I had/have a neighbour dispute and the police placed a harassment order on him as a result of his actions. Like you each incident was not pleasant but could be brushed off in some way but it is the combination of events that needed some action.

Harassment orders are not that powerful but they are the first step in confronting the behaviour and it then enables a fuller response from the police if events occur again.

Record all incidents in a factual way, do not underestimate how this will impact on yourself and your wife. Maintain the moral high ground and use the authorities.

Gabba, defrosters, baselayer, winter gloves, buff & Morvelo stormshield tights.

All toastie, standard kit now until April unless the sun comes back to Yorkshire.

It has taken a while to get the right kit together that works but I think I have it about right, just cost a few £000 getting there!

It seems wives/OH play a big part in our frustration(s)

Why does she press the back button on her phone many times instead of the home button. Some person spent their time putting it on the screen in a good place to shortcut multiple presses but she just ignores it.

Not being able to reverse out of the drive in one move. We have only lived in this house for 13 years, maybe she will learn to do it soon.

Use of the word ‘common sense’ in the perception that it is common, when it seems to be given out to lss people in the gene pool.

Have just got a 2L petrol auto S max. It is so easy to drive and manual cars (our other one) seem so much work now.

Should have done it long ago.

It will be worth checking that she is insured on the works van at the age of 69, many policies that I looked at for work only went up to 65, I had to get it written into then at a cost to go up to 70 for our drivers.

1 order of 4 pairs of Salomon’s and no cancellation order (yet), trying to be realistic but I wish they would let them slip through the system.

Google keep is good for to do lists and shopping lists, they can be shared and licked off as they are put in the trolley. My wife can even add things when I am doing the shopping.

Google calendar for organising with a quick diary meeting every week.

All free, why pay. Big Trello user at work. It has advantages in many situations but probably not a fit for this one

My wife often asks if I have washed my hands when I exit the toilet even when other people are around, I am not a child so either stare disapprovingly at her or say I licked them.

Still doesn’t stop her asking next time

I feel the need to track Kelly down on my commute and educate her a bit.

I am not sure the intention of article is being understood, would love to know how she meant it to be taken!

Going home to bend my TV, not at my flats but at MY house. One I have paid for via hard work not through nicking stuff.

This crime pi55es me off lots!

Big fan of Morvelo, especially when they have a sale and there is a new member discount aswell.

They are not cheap but anything to do with bikes is now silly money.

Find a mate with a Howdens account. Cabinets are built up and ours has been cooked in every day for 8 years and is fine.

Take photos of the meters as you leave.

Alarm code for the new house.

Put a box together of Tea/coffee/sugar/milk and kettle or it will get lost in the move

Leave the fridge to stand after you have moved it for a bit before switching it on.

    Say hello to the neighbours.

    Label your boxes.

Ring the sofa company again, make some silly excuse to get them to change the delivery to your new address

You have never packed enough. It will be a long day, look after your back.

Take your time unpacking, you are in the house!

it is comforting to know it is not just me that gets wound up by my other half.

How many lipsticks do you need….in the car (both), handbags, by the front door, everywhere.

Always late, she has more stuff to do to get out of the door. She might be correct but when I point out that she knew this when she got up (late) then why is it a surprise every time.

Drives like the clutch is on or off, does not hear bad noises coming from the car, takes the wrong line around corners and takes them like they are all 90 degrees. Great with a bad back.

Buys all manner of organic sh1t. Himalayan pink crystal salt??,

It is winding me up typing this as it is reminding me of more….

in a former job I had to hire and return lots of vehicles, often getting the same ones back days and weeks later.

I would regularly be a witness to arguments about ‘damage’. The best I saw was one over a chip to a windscreen that they claim needed to be replaced and paid for. There was damage but as we know this happens to many people before they actually replace the screen. The bloke without getting irate, cancelled his credit card with the bank and then put the jack from the vehicle through the windscreen and settled the cost of it in cash. Part of me thinks it was pre planned but the look on the hire companies jobsworths face was priceless.

Have tried to explain this race and the excitement it builds up to the Mrs and it just did not register, same with football focused friends. What is it equivalent to, a city shopping trip or a home Derby..

Youngest of 3 here is a 7 year old boy. They have the ability to put a stressful day in perspective and cut through all the current day BS very quickly.

So I am in the shower and this he decides is a great time to come in and have a number 2 and tell me in great detail how to carry a cheetah if I get the chance to kill one on my way to work tomorrow!!

We live in the UK so I am not sure where this has come from but it was entertaining.

Too much Bear Grylls I think??

Had a similar thought here as I am commuting a hilly route both ways every day, was looking at SIS protein gels but need a cheaper option of a good deal on them.

    Interested in the suggestions

The spans on your steels are huge for residential, the cost of the supply of those is easy to find out. Hope you have worked out how to integrate (hide) them in the build or they will look ugly.

Although the builder is a mate he still wants to make money so do things formally or you will spend more than you want and have one less friend in a few months time.

Project creep is your enemy, make sure you and your wife agree on specifications and discuss your expectations.

You should have a big tabbed spreadsheet for all parts of the build so most costs can be accounted for. There will be surprises but not many if you plan well.

Check your dims, they differ in the 2 plans, might just be the diy drawings.

Done 3 large home extensions here (and £2 to £40 million ones at work), prepare for the dust and mess, particularly if you are planning on still living in the house. And a wife who will get fed up with it.

£80k might be ok but without a full bill of materials the cost of a door can be £350 or £2k, flooring £8/sq M or £60/sp M, your choice.

    Good luck

My lad is into his first choice school aswell, the grammar school he wanted but he did come 2nd in the entrance exam (of about 1800) so I am pleased for him but knew the outcome of today was likely. He is a clever lad but 2nd was beyond our expectations, has cost me a small fortune in a lost bet with him.

Have had this a few times before.

I ask the parents to deal with the incident that has just happened (loud enough for others to hear) before I have to step in and sort it. This gives them the chance.

Unfortunately there are many parents who choose to ignore rather than deal with their own children.

I have 3 and they are not angels but know mum and dad will sort them out anywhere but also there for their protection aswell.

I have a Spirt 200 Lite and it is of a similar configuration to a Vango tempest 300 which is used lots by the Scouts and D of E.

Not sure if this fits the weight/cost requirements though.

Looking out of the window at the rain and hearing the cars ploughing through the water the ride home at 10:30pm after a long governors meeting will be fine as the Pave’s just grip the lovely Calderdale roads.

Granted they are not cheap but they are the only thing stopping me sliding along the road so a few quid in the right place sits OK with me.

How can I justify £100’s on bike stuff but not an extra £10 on each tyre.

Life is to short to ride sh1t tyres that feel numb!

Have been commuting since the bridge I drove over every day to work got damaged and closed following the floods in the Calder Valley floods on Boxing Day.

Have had nothing but respect on the roads but can see why others do have issues.

There is a difference between a cyclist and a person on a bike and I think they get treated differently by motorists.

I do have Smudges luminator on the front which has drawn many comments as well as a flashing front and back light on my helmet plus 2 lights on my seatpost, one flashing and one steady.

The best addition to my bike for side visibility is some reflective spoke clip-on sticks from Aldi. Originally bought for my lads bike, they are great and my lights light the front ones up and make it a lot more reassuring when side on to traffic.

I do find 100% awareness of what is around you and making obvious thank you gestures when drivers have given you courtesy is helping my cause as most of the drivers are on the commute to work at the same time every day so will see me 100’s of times a year.

It is sobering when last week I was rushing home only to be stopped by the police as the road had been closed by an RTA with a cyclist who had been killed (RIP). I know no more details but it hits quite hard when you see it on your route home knowing I will be on the same roads every day.

But I still love riding home from work, it clears the mind and helps separate work from home but it is now raining.

The price is dependant on what you want. I was looking for 175mm cranks on 50/34 with 12/28 cassette, suddenly the prices changed for that mix.

Cheapest means the groupset combo nobody wants.

Looked at a Touran on Sunday, it was so dull. I was so underwhelmed by it on appearance alone.

I know a car won’t make the road come alive like 650b but it was so functional, black and boring. It is still just in the mix with an Smax but now moving onto test drives.

Also why are most garages so crap, the sales person was reading of the back of the cars to identify the model, she works there FFS, surrounded by them all day. Also they could not answer why two similar cars were £5k different in price.

    I hate buying cars!

Buy him good stuff and it will last a very long time, he will thank you when he’s realized it really it quality over quantity.

    a good hammer (estwing, Vaughan)
screwdrivers (wiha, wera) in PZ. PH and torx.
    adjustable spanner (bahco)
    Stanley/Irwin knife and spare blades
    Tape measure. 5m Stanley fatmax

You will get change from £150 easily, enough to get him a good toolbox to put them in.

Woke up early so decided to check what deals are out there.

There is nothing much on offer that is amazing/I want and everyone here at work is saying the same.

    ultegra groupset
    105 groupset
    Lewins shirts
    New phone
    chromecast
    Nexus 9

It is going to get expensive!

Have got all the deals to date and the associated price rigging in a spreadsheet all set for alleged bargains tomorrow. Have waited for this day but at least I will know it is a deal if I press the buy button.

all uphill back to the house so no chance of a break, so often end up doing a cooldown in the garage.

Cyclists have lots of bizarre ideas……..
