It’s in the shop as we speak. My previous three attempts to fix it have failed.

The forecast looks good (at the moment)

No 111, riding a Whyte E120 (with creaking bottom bracket, no doubt). My first Dyfi.

Did a Tough Mudder on Saturday, so hoping that I’ll be able to walk again by the weekend.

I had a 159 2.4 JTDm Sportwagon for about a year. I did quite a few long journeys, but my commute was quite short, which sometimes stopped the shitty cat from doing a proper regen cycle. This would then put the whole car in limp mode and the Alfa garage would have to force a regen cycle.

Did this about four times and I gave up on it, mostly due to the terrible customer service at the Alfa/Fiat garage in Bristol at the time.

Their advice was to take it on a 30 min drive on dual carriageways at least once a fortnight for 20-30 mins. Errr, no!

If you do regular long journeys, you should be fine.

I ran a BMW diesel for two years after the Alfa on the same length commutes for two years with no issues.

The Alfa was lovely, but some of the buttons were horrible (especially the ones on the steering wheel).

For every £1 in tax collected by HMRC, 48p is spent in the collection of said tax.
I think savings could be made…

    Can you back this up?

I stand astride MY segments like a collossus – WhyTF would I look down ?

Because you’re the only rider on the segment? 😉

I’ve often wondered about this. Given that veloviewer has *everything* else, I figured that it might be a limitation of the API.

If it’ll make you feel any better, a naga curry is even hotter. It’s the only curry I’ve not managed to finish.

SAAB 9-5 Aero estate. Now cheap, very fast, very safe, loads of room to chuck bikes into. Parts are fairly cheap and plentiful and it is no less reliable than anything else.

Paid £2900 a year ago for a 55 plate with 95k on the clock with leather heated seats, with most of the usual toys and a manual gearbox. 250BHP as standard.

    Some bargains out there.

Nice cars, but prepare yourself for a number of fundamental electrical problems.

The worst one is the wiring loom in th tail gate fails every four years or so. They have to remove the headlining to replace it. This is damned expensive.

Also, steer clear of 18 or 19 inch m sport wheels. They crack easily, especially on potholes and if unrepairable, cost more than £400 each.

I traded my 535d touring in for a SAAB 95 of similar age. The BMW was great, but was turning into a money pit.

I’ve done some good riding around Greenham Common and in the woods near Hermitage. Lots of little trails all over the place. Not enough for an epic all dayer, but good for a blast.

There is an alternative seat post clamp bracket for mounting a rack / mudguards on the TCX. Comes with the bike.

P20: yours looks awfully clean considering the shitty weather we’ve had until recently. My white has gone beige.

Another vote here for the TCX SLR2. It has been a pleasure on and off road.

There is a big chunk between Newbury and Devizes that is barely ridable on an MTB, let alone a road bike.

The Sustrans route does take you around some quiet(ish) roads which adds a few more hills and miles.

Also, watch out for sections near Devizes where they have cut the Hawthorn bushes. I was on there a few weeks back and there was a line of cyclists fixing punctures. I had Marathons and still got three punctures! Haven’t had a puncture for about four years previously.

It’s pretty dry now. The first ‘top’ section is still a bit of a quagmire, but I reckon it’ll be dry in a week or two if the weather forecasters have got it right.

I really liked it. The climb was murderous in places, but well worth it. The gates are annoying, but didn’t spoil it for me. It felt like a cross between Gorlech at Brechfa and Twrch.

Put a nice big hole in my rear tubeless tyre going over some big rocks about 20m from the car park! Arses.

The plot, characters and immersion of Infinite was amazing. I will happily go back and play it again.

    It’s called the Cafell.

Cafell was King Arthur’s dog who chased the Twrch.

    Schwalbe Marathons.

They are sticky, puncture resistant and will last forever. The pluses are solid, but heavy, but that’s not a problem for commutes. The Supremes are much lighter, but more expensive (I did find some for £25 each though recently).

No replies, so I popped in after work today.

There were a couple of familiar ex zero G faces behind the counter, but it is a new shop called The Cycle Stop.

Looks like they have a decent amount of stock. Didn’t look at the bikes in detail, but there were a few Whytes on display.

Very friendly and helpful. Good to have an LBS back in the area. Looks like they are doing rides from the shop again too. First weekend of each month at first.

    I’m in.

Looks like the site is buckling under load now though.
