BTP, don’t make me laugh. The police farce with a dog that’s afraid of trains! The same police force that even after being given VERY specific details regarding a location confused Kingston with Kingston near Lewes. The same police that sent a SOCO to site two days after I reported copper theft that was very old and demanded that I attended site before I impolitely informed that I was not working that day.

Mrs M had it, cortisone injection worked for about 4 weeks then back as bad as ever. Eventually had the nerve cut out of her foot (very painful) and it was a long recovery.

At work we had an incident recently and required an ambulance to a remote rural location, very disappointingly the ambulance service would not accept the grid reference (which was handily on the equipment room door) but wanted a post code (which being in the countryside would have been very vague and was not known anyway).

    Very unimpressed.

Actually at Trek world the reps were saying 650b is actually 27.1″ rather than 27.5″.

The fat bike did look rather fun though…..must resist N+1

Upon reflection and having spoken to someone well regarded in the BSB paddock, Cal’s move may be a wise one.

OPTION 1 (head over heart, set up for life)

He goes to a FACTORY Ducati for 4 years for £7million (I think that’s the terms). So he’s stinking rich for life, well looked after and most likely he’s nowhere then that will be the bikes fault, not Cal’s.
Audi makes an example of the lead Italian engineers sending them to the special shower blocks to motivate the others and Cal starts getting podiums and wins then it’ll be down to him (whether or not the bike has actually improved).

    OPTION 2

He has no other Factory options and stays at Tech 3, next year he’ll only (due to bike limitations) do what he’s done this year so far at best and if he does any worse then he’s paid a pittance and after a few years fades through CRT obscurity to WSB/BSB.

    OPTION 3

He gets the Gresini ride and the same thing will probably happen.

    OPTION 1b (heart rules head)

The Ducati deal lasts about a year as the bike is still rubbish. Cal realises that his inner racer is dying a little bit at a time, every time he fails to get anywhere on the Ducati or it beats him up for no explainable reason. Cal wants a win more than money at this point.
A FACTORY HONDA, YAMAHA or Suzuki ride comes up. Contract suddenly becomes worthless and Cal leaves for another team.

Can you open a jam jar without excruciating pain? If it hurts like hell then probably a scaphoid. Get them to really check the x-ray as it fairly often fails to show in the initial pictures unless they really know what they are looking for.

The cretin bloke is a working at height, without a harness/fall arrest system. He is not using tethered tools and there is no exclusion zone beneath him to protect members of the Public should he drop anything or fall (as a guideline it should be twice the size of the height you are working at).

As an advanced climber/tower rescuer IMO he should have been fined a lot more.

I surf when possible, family lives in Bude and am almost banned from visiting as I’m the antichrist of surf. I just have to think about it and the sea turns to a millpond.

and that is the definition of a “mantrum”.

I don’t get that angry, apart from that time I got onto Rushup Edge into a head wind and kept riding into the ruts and clashing pedals, oh if I could have lobbed the bike into a bottomless bog I would have done.

Broke mine August 2011, Stanmer tree of doom at the Brighton Big Dog. St Johns said it was prob a sprain so I did two more laps, went to hospital two days later who said its just a sprain. After two weeks of MTFU and failing it was diagnosed as broken scaphoid so put in a cast. By November it hadn’t healed and the bone was dying so in Dec it was Herbert screwed and bone grafted and yes the hip bit bloody hurts. The consultant looked positively gleeful as he described the need for a fresh piece of bleeding marrow and an 80% chance of success.

Healed normally (had some laser and pulsed magnetic field therapy as well- private) after that and was riding again gently by mid April, back to full idiocy by August. Still hurts when I catch it on an edge or pick something very heavy up and probably 90% strength and 95% range of motion.

BE VERY VERY nice to the bone, let it heal slowly, don’t rush it and don’t over do it.

So went for a ride with a roaring hangover this morning and had stupid moment transitioning from a steep downy bit with acute left turn into rutted climb, didn’t carry enough speed, front wheel stopped in rut and I couldn’t unclip so put my herbert screwed left wrist out to cushion the fall. Ouch.

A local trail to me (Bleedin’ Lisa) was sanitized about 8 years ago, with a bit of judicious assistance from, ahem, the unknown dog walker the trail has been reinstated to its former glory by rainwater diversions during heavy down pours to assist the gullying and step forming process.

One bits so good now that my really gobby, thinks-he’s-a-riding-god friend was reduced to shaken, pale, silence after trying to follow me through at the “conservative” speeds I ride at.

Unfortunately the water company are now going to be working across it so I so the unknown dog walker will have to start back at square one.
